We’ve had 4 frosts this winter, only just under freezing.  I’ve seen midges swarming in the fields where I walk the dogs and my carnivorous plants are beginning to wake up.  Rubbish wet winter so far.

Stumpjon, in best Cyclon Voice ” a Colonial Battlestar, named Galactica”

Either the Original or the Miniseries version but I expect to see retractable hanger decks if you build the later.

There was a sci-fi story (written in the 60’s I think- cannot remember the title) about a group of soldiers trying to escape a futuristic battle field containing such delights as acid drop and blind wort bio weapons all the time being pursued by a psychotic rogue robot tank and its minions bent on killing them.

It’s getting closer to being a real account.

It’s alright until the other side hack it and seize control.  Either that or it becomes self aware and finds God.

Mrs M who is terribly cold handed now has some electrically heated ski gloves which were not cheap but she absolutely loves.  They reduce handlebar feel but as its mainly XC over winter, fine control isn’t a problem and at the end of the ride she still has feeling in her finger tips.

I hadn’t realised the govt had asked for bank stability guarantees.  I can understand why and think it is a good idea.  On my area of the SE we currently have the Redhill-Tonbridge Line Crowhurst JN slip site that will be out for months, minor slips near East Grinstead and Haywards Heath as well as piling work at Wivelsfield to alleviate a slip in progress before it closed the main line.

We also have had historic slips on the Quarry lines near Redhill and Hooley, the main line at Earlswood and also on the Eastbourne line near Ripe.  Most of these caused by excessive rainfall and poor quality “made up” ground failing embankments or excessive rainfall on very old cuttings.

So getting it right in the first place may save many pounds and train delays later.

For my two pence worth I’d rather have seen the money spent improving the Northern, East-West links between major cities before extending down towards London.

Probably short trips and cold engine leading to the oil staying “wet” and never drying out properly.  Is the thermostat jammed open, does the engine warm up properly?

Or its head gasket, but I’d expect filthy or low coolant/boiling over and loss of power.

The KTM takes £16 to fill up and the fuel light is back on at 90-100 miles.

I don’t know what you lot are fussing about, in 10 years time we’ll be cosying up to the Greater Chinese Empire and be their unsinkable aircraft carrier in the Atlantic.

Facom user here, since 1993, only the 2.5 is tired as I used that nearly everyday at work for 15 years to unscrew TAIT radios from their chassis and also unscrew battery cover bolts on the same radios.

Irans “religious leaders” have sworn to eliminate the state of Israel, with nukes and ballistic missiles they could do overnight.
Do they care that the US and the remnants of the IDF would reduce Iran to radioactive glass in retaliation, for the most zealous I doubt it, it would be glorious martyrdom.

Trumps nuclear arsenal has many checks and balances that have evolved over the 70 years the US has had nuclear weapons to stop a dodgy launch and if the military decided it was illegal they would hopefully talk him out of it or stop it.

Interviews are a two way street, a courtship if you will, do they want you, do you want to work for them?

I’ve turned down a job offer after sailing the interview because my “Spidey-sense” gave me bad vibes as the interview wore on and another interview I didn’t get the job I was glad I didn’t as both people on the panel didn’t inspire me to want to work for them for different reasons.

oh and treat everyone as a practice for the next one.

So was it itchy trigger finger on the part of an Iranian Missile battalion operative, some shadowy black ops with a MANPAD removing a person of interest or just catastrophic failure after its service a few days ago?

What ajaj said.  Japanese legal system from what I’ve read seems to only grant bail after an admission of guilt and you can be imprisoned without trial whilst waiting for the police to gather all the evidence they need.

I hope that calm heads will prevail but fear that Iran may well have just shot itself in the foot☹️

For our alloy wheels use I auto finesse Iron remover (Foxy recommended it), spray on, leave till wheels turn purple, wash off with warm soapy water and wheels sparkly and new, only down side is it stinks like week old dishwater and shows up Mrs M’s kerbing skills!

Trump will never stop and think, he’s a knee jerk reactionary.  He doesn’t plan.  Iran need to stop and think and play the waiting game (for a new US President) but sadly I don’t think they will.  Any military response on their part (which they are promising) will result in all manner of hell raining down upon them.

This will not end well for anyone in the area.  Iran have some very good antiship missiles and seem to have got swarming drone attacks sorted, Allah help them if they try for one of the US Carriers.

and Kimbers I will respectfully disagree, the TG, from what I’ve read and watched seemed to be a cut above your regular Iranian General in terms of leadership and organisational flair.

Just watched the local news regarding the local railway landslips and the BBC presenter put on a sarcastic tone when he said Network Rail were saying climate change was a contributory cause.  Having been privy to conference calls regarding the slips, the level of rainfall is far above the average norm and a definite contributory cause.

Didn’t feel very impartial reporting too me.

Timing and ethics aside, the Terrorist General was a fantastic planner and good leader, responsible for organising/sponsoring/motivating many terrorist groups in the region causing a great many deaths of US and Ally soldiers across the area.  His removal with what appears to be the ninja/bladed hellfire may well set back Iranian plans, will his replacement be as good?  I doubt it.  Though he has probably left plans for what to do should he suffer “an accident”.

Much as I detest Trump, he will get re-elected, to the American people (rightly or wrongly) he has improved the economy, got more African Americans in employment, taken the trade fight to China and put America first.
