NHS messed my mum about, did one cataract eventually and then said to her after numerous trips to the consultants that they wouldn’t be doing the other as she had one good eye.  Fortunately she had enough savings to do it privately. She’s now going through the same rubbish with her hips.

I really struggle with the NHS, they saved my hand after an infected dog bite (my fault, not the dogs) last year and were bloody excellent but then they mess my mum round something chronic on two things that are severely life limiting for her.

That’ll be the correct position.  Mine all look odd compared to a normal saddle

Nuke it from orbit with Daktacourt (yes its not supposed to be used down there but GP recommended it – sparingly). Also I’m using Chucklin Goat Kefir soap and Kefir drink (to increase healthy bacteria- allegedly) and have cut back on sugar.

Binned Endura liners as they really don’t help and now use Castelli liners and Castelli dry cream

According to Mrs M, I apparently throw the entire bottle of Talc in the air and then dance through the resulting dust storm to apply.

Cut n pasted reply I put on another thread:

Running 2.4 wild Enduros F&R on my 29 specie enduro, carbon rims.  23 psi f, 25psi r.  Survived 5 days in Wales, ranging from wet to dry trail centres including BPW, many huge landings too flat or worse due to being totally FUBAR after 5 days.  Minor nick on sidewall and nobbles still good.  Now on Dartmoor with extended rock gardens and still going strong.  Also ride South Downs where enduro casing seems pretty flint resistant, unlike Kenda and many maxxis.

I will be buying again, though maybe not the sticky front compound as its a bit draggy and its knobblies are beginning to loose their square edges.

Mrs M runs a wild enduro on the front at similar pressure on her 27.5 ebike and she’s smashing out the widow maker (basically its a 2 mile granite garden at the moment)

Grip is good to outstanding on most surfaces.

Depends on the organisation but sometimes total, blind adherence to every rule and reg can reduce your crappy manager to pieces.  My last manager was sometimes a bully and just get the job done merchant.  Oh the fun I had with him explaining for 30 mins why the 5 minute job couldn’t be done without an overtime night shift.  Cancelling work on said night shift due to incorrect paperwork etc.  (His fault for not reading my email and listening to me) the fault and maintenance backlog spiralled until he backed off and let me work effectively by planning my own workload.   I’ve since left for a much better job where I make a difference without management interference impeding me.

All a bit moot really as in 10-15 years most cars will be electric and road side pollution will minimal.

Might be worth seeing Brain Simpson the motorcycle racer healer (physio clinic Ipswich) and see if he can recommend any treatment to promote healing.  I went to see him after my graft and screw op for a some alternative non NHS treatments. to help it heal

Some Guards are just jobsworth D**ks.  On the train the other day, it was totally empty in the bike carriage apart from me.  Bike was clipped into the seat belt straps and tight against the railing and very secure.  But oh no, Mr Grumpy Guard insisted that I turned my bike around to conform with the sign regarding positioning even though it meant that my bike stuck out into the corridor more!  This is the first issue I’ve had with the Guards on my commute in 12 months of travelling.

So after that, when he asked for my ticket I pettily went through every pocket and rucksack compartment with deliberate slowness as he increasingly huffed and puffed before digging out my staff travel pass.  I know, very petty but his attitude rubbish.

Mrs M has one for various health reasons, watching her smash down the Nutcracker on Dartmoor after various mates had minced was hilarious.  Valkyrie on wheels😁

Wolves NO, Dragons or Bandersnatch might.  Triffids, Slaver Sunflowers and Nort Bio-Wire would definitely add a frisson of risk too a mundane Sarf Downs ride.

Flux capacitor only works at 1.21 Giga watts.  So if its running on the mains you’ll need at least a 5041666A fuse.  Assuming mains is true 240V.

Took a Belgium rider out for a tour of the South Downs around Eastbourne, should’ve known I was in for a pasting when he turned up in a very light XC bike………that and his thighs were bigger than my waist.  By **** could he sprint/climb/pedal.  Crap on singletrack but everything else he was horrendously quick. Turns out their winter training regime was long pedals along the seafront into force 7-8’s until they could pedal no further and a lot of beach races.  Off road involved the edges of fields and that was about it.

Ha wait till your in Sarf London by Spa Road in a van that is speed monitored and your company has a zero tolerance/sackable offence for speeding.  20mph in a 20 at 0230 on a Saturday morning is asking for a stabbing/bullet/hiding as you hold up distribution of a certain products delivered by slammed BMW’s/Merc’s.  Management were very upset when I declined to do any further night jobs in that local unless I got an untracked van that wouldn’t interrupt the flow of traffic/trafficked goods.

Some horrible Kaloi Alu frame from the bike shop in Reigate decades ago.  It had rectangular section extruded chain stays with internal stiffening structures and the front triangle was massive size tubes.  Horrible jarring POS.

    It’s horrible compulsive viewing.

I’m reading the Atomic Accidents book mentioned earlier in the thread.  The mix of design, procedural, man-thinking-he-knows-better-than-procedures and sheer stupidity errors that have caused some very nasty accidents and fatalities makes me think we should have put the genie back in that particular bottle and then sealed it in cement long ago.

Season 2 wasn’t as good as 1.  I liked Captain Pike, especially the episode where he sees his future……..

According to Wiki there will be a season 3.
