    Poor form.

Maybe a nocturnal visit at their US address from a “secret service” suggesting she return to the UK to face the legal system or alternatively……..

At work we use Steitz safety boots, hard as nails and survive well traipsing up and down the ballast at the side of the track, I use a pair as my dog walking boots in winter and they cope with all winter throws at them.

What wwaswas says regarding not being able to sell and you do realise the remediation/cleanup will have been done by the lowest bidder.

The cynic in me says that the approved testing will have been at certain cleaned to standard spots with a more laissez faire attitude across the rest of the site and there is also the possibility of a nice holiday/watch/car/envelope stuffed with notes for somebody if “performance” targets are met on budget or certain reports are editted.

Oh and I love experts, after we had complained about the state of the transformers at an underground site we used to have, the state run organisation called in an expert to analyse and tell us it was safe to clear up with minimal PPE (this was back in the early 90’s). The after meeting questions went like this

Expert, “yes that transformer oil is perfectly safe to clean up with rags”,

My colleague “well then, you’d be happy to do it with us ?”

Expert “err that’s a bit of a leading question”

Large underground substations worries me, power transformers and switch gear up until the 1970’s/1980’s would have used PCB infused oil as an insulating medium and transformers leak.  I’ll bet they weren’t sitting in well maintained bunded pits so you can bet it leached into the concrete and soil.

If it was me, no way would I be buying a house there.

Might be worth an appointment with Brian Simpson in Ipswich, he’s sorted many a Moto crosser and Motorcycle racer after bad/near catastrophic injuries.

Big fan of Michelin here, I’ve used the Wild Muds with Enduro sidewalls for a few winters, can run at 18psi over wet chalk and flints without sidewall damage and only a two punctures that wouldn’t seal in that time without anchovies.

I’ve used the Wild Enduro F&R this year, outrageous levels of grip on Sussex soil, Dartmoor Granite and loam and Welsh trail centres.  Again sidewalls that will tolerate much abuse.  My only criticism is they can be a bit draggy especially the rear.

At work I am Master of life and death (which is fairly serious) so I have to act “grown up”.

Outside of work, over my rotting corpse (I’m 50 going on 17).

Lake 303’s here, they’ve seen Jan 2013, this will be their last winter as they are beginning to fall apart, had to replace the BOA once in that time and its was covered under Boa lifetime warranty.  They get heavily used in horrendous Sussex slop.  I might have got a few more years out of them if I’d cleaned and treated them a bit more.

Sorry “phone to ring” but for some reason that fell off the original post.

oh and the phone rang, computer went on a go slow and then decided to report a site alarm, so I’m stuck waiting for the poxy thing to refresh so I can clear the alarm and deal with the incoming callers request all at the same effing time.

TF I’ve only got one more night to go!

At least I’m not working outside in the rain which is still hammering down.

Two bucket method, was using Simoniz coconut smelling soap but am now using the Meguair yellow stuff.  Auto Finesse Iron remover for the alloys works well but mine are so far gone they’ll need refinishing soon as Mrs M uses them as the final part of stopping on the kerb (sigh).

Claybar with a Meguair soft clay twice a year and then a coat of carlack 68 and collinite915 wax (not as durable as 476 but has more “pop”)

Actually I think we’re  descending into a 1970’s Gotham run by The Joker.  A crumbling, failing state where successive governments since WW2 have failed to address social cohesion and responsibilities/issues whilst lining their own pockets.  I could go on for hours but it won’t change a thing.

Volcano films, like the Tommy Lee Jones one that just finished.  Very rarely do you find a lava flow that you cannot out walk to escape from (note lava, not pyroclastic flow)  Concrete blocks will not divert a lava flow.

Cars, either wheel spinning on acceleration or skidding under braking, FFS why have you turned the ABS and traction control off?

Hero shots at bad guys car as it drives towards him, usually with a 9mm or .45 round.  No cloud of steam as the rad ruptures, no car grinding to a halt as the loom gets shot out or block gets cracked open.

I have it on good authority that .45 round goes through a car door, collects the window winding mechanism which then collects the gear stick before leaving the other side of the cars door again with much of the window winding mechanism and leaves with a large exit hole.  So hiding behind a car door as the baddie shots at you with an AK is pretty useless, similarly flipping tables over or empty oil drums.

Disarming a nuke, it’s easy once the case is open, no need for laptops or red wire/blue wire, just pull half a dozen random wires off the fission bomb explosive shell and whilst it’ll still go bang and be a bit radio active it won’t give you a mushroom cloud.

unless it’s a gun type nuke which

Ban children, after 80 or so years all the greenhouse emitters will have disappeared and then the Earth can return to normal.

Doesn’t seem a very level playing field to me.

McGuiness (if he was still alive) and Jerry Adams should be being investigated and prosecuted for their crimes as well but that won’t happen.

Approx 100 bombers/murderers linked to 200 deaths were given those letters comfort from Tony Blairs government saying they were no longer wanted for past crimes.

Mixed feelings, the crews do a wonderful job but the management actions have tarnished my opinions of them after they tried to muscle in/squeeze out the work the oldest surf lifesaving club in the country did in their town.

Ha ha at least the Antichrist of surf didn’t turn up (that’ll be me).

I’m cursed with the ability to turn the largest raging Devon/Cornish surf into a millpond just by looking at it.

I have to say that I love my KTM 950 SMR, I’ve had a 750, 600, 900 & 1000 4’s, a 250 2 stroke and a 640 single  and even though the KTM makes less power than the 4’s with a stupidly small tank it’s definitely my favourite.

Topeak Alien here, its coming up for 10 years old, maybe more.  Used regularly and apart from a lost torx bit is still going strong.  Mrs M has the head set tool store thing on her Levo and its very convent if you want a quick adjust of a lever or something.
