Milkie if you do come back to this thread how do you like the bike? I’ve not had a chance to ride one yet so would like any feedback.

I don’t have much to compare it to, a ’95 Orange P7, and a ’90 something Zaskar LE. Although I do prefer it to my friends Scott Scale 30.

To be honest, I’m loving it, its quite laid back (apparently), but I find its a great climber (or is it me), and love it on downhill decents, although it does feel there is a lot of vibration when going downhill. I’ve been sat in the saddle all day, and feel I could do it over n over again, if someone gave me new legs everyday.

maybe the vast majority are actually government activities.

No reason why they can’t be the government/military. Watch Stan Deyo Anti-Gravity Free Energy & Technology of the New World Order or read the book “Hunt for Zero Point”.

Anti-Gravity devices have been around for years, you can even buy a kit to build one, albeit very basic.

Won’t it sway a bit? There must be a maximum weight too I guess?

    Widest High Street in Europe.
    JK Rowling was born here.
The Queen got stuck up the road near here.

    Now for an obvious one!

The river only flows one way. :-)

..not realy seen much use & still measures 12″ centre to centre

I take it you are measuring the chain when its on the bike. I made the mistake of measuring it off the bike, then re-measured on the bike and it had stretched more than off the bike.

will it still be ok or need replacing ?

If one link has snapped, what’s the chances of another snapping? I suppose it depends on how much you value your nuts!?

As with all things, you have to report it. I take it you have reported the dog & owner to the Dog Warden and local vets?

As Coyote says, the dog should be “under control at all times”. But this does not give you the right to kick the animal to death, really you should be kicking the owner, as its their fault the dog is out of control. I’m also not saying you can’t defend yourself

I think… The dog warden can take action if there has been 3 complaints (doesn’t have to be the same person complaining). Usually the dog warden will know of aggresive animals, as they would’ve had someone else complain as well..

It’s not the dogs fault, its the damn owners!

They are technically brilliant, but they just miss the point of music.

I agree. You need more than just the drums to appreciate the drums. If that makes sense. Now this is what I like: drum solo with rhythm.

I have a feeling grinding won’t be up to par – I did try filing it down and my (admittedly a bit blunt) files didn’t even begin to touch it.

Yea think you’re right. Grinding would take ages, especially if its at 90 Rockwell! 8O

I know that a few years ago (4ish), you wanted an Intel chip for sound production, as most programs were optimised for an Intel. Also the Intel crunched numbers slightly better than the AMD.. Not sure if the same applies these days.

What grade of Stainless is it and is it hardened? I’m guessing its 440C? What grade of finish are you looking for?

I’m not an engineer, but think we could do it here at work. It wouldn’t be using a lathe, it would be done using a surface grinder. The finish would not be very good at all, and could be quite coarse.

25ml or 35ml, it is up to the bar. There is no real rule on it.

There is a rule though, the measures and prices have to be published by the bar. Usually at the end of the bar on the wall.

You cannot used 25ml & a 35ml for say vodka, you have to stick to one measure, so its either multiples of 25ml or 35ml.

It was a long time ago when I was a licensee.

Seems to be a bit of vignetting on a few pictures. Not sure if this is deliberate or not.

Try posting it over at Talk Photography Forums.[/url] There’s a sub forum for posting pictures for criticism and things. No doubt they’ll give you some great tips too. I knew nothing 2 weeks ago before buying my camera. Now I know I really know nothing. :-)

When PRS told us at work that we had to pay for a license to listen to the radio, I thought it was a scam! After a little bit of googling, we coughed up the money, despite feeling its damn right outrageous. I think it cost under £200, but there’s not that many of us in the office.

As for DJ’s, its damn right ridiculous, or it used to be. You used to need a PPL (Phonographic Performance License) and then another one to play mp3’s! Also the venue needed to have a PPL (Public Performance License). Not so much of a problem if you’re doing full on mobile disco’s or a high end dj earning big bucks.. If you’re like me and do the occasional gig/set, its not worth getting the license.

What I can’t understand is, why do i not need a license at home? If my friends come round and can hear it, surely I would need a damn stupid PRS license?

Criticism: Biking forum, and there aren’t any pictures of any bikes

Nice pictures, first one the snow looks over-exposed to me, but I’m no pro/am photographer, and my monitor isnt the best here at work.

Last picture is fantastic, almost looks un-real to me, or a HDR.

Thinking of a new camera – probably something like a Canon G10 or G9 –

I would like a ‘semi DSLR’ – good shots and adjustability, without the size and weight, and the ability for mrs_oab to point and shoot.

I think the G10 would be perfect for you. I wanted a sort of “semi dslr” camera, and the G10 fits the bill (slightly bigger than a p&s, smaller than a dslr, more features than a p&s). I think the LX3 beats the G10 on image quality slightly, but it isnt as easily adjustable as the G10.

I didn’t think video shops existed anymore. We had 5 in this town.. Now there’s none!

Crank isn’t a great film, worth watching, but there’s better Jason Statham films out.

Another vote for Pineapple Express here. Don’t know if these are out, Bangkok Dangerous, Pride & Glory, Eagle Eye.

I’m pretty sure my kitlist is a little OTT, but here goes:

    In my Camelbak Mule
    First Aid Kit
    Space Blanket
    Pac-a-Mac
    Survival Kit (sometimes)
    Topeak Alien Multitool
    Leatherman style tool
    Spare brake pads
    Cable ties
    Spare Mech Hanger
    Inner Tube
    Park Tools Patches
    Soma Tyre Levers
    Pump
    Co2 Inflator + 2 refils
    Powerlinks
    Superglue
    Anti-Bacterial hand wash
Canon PowerShot G10 + SLR Gorillapod

A couple of gels, chocolate bars, maybe some sarnies.

I rarely take all of this kit, as it’s hard to get into the mule! I have to take a lot of it though, cos the friends I cycle with take **** all!!

I keep my money & phone on me.

I think I remembered everything… Hold on, Sunglasses!

We have one dog that is limited to 6K, which gets maxed out every year. It’s surprising how expensive it can be, when they throw the book at your dog (not litteraly!). She does have very rare blood conditions and all sorts of other problems.

Our other dog (much younger), is unlimited, but she is a working dog, peace of mind really.

It’s a Walkera 4#3 (Or known as a BuzzFly in the UK), you can buy these pretty cheap, and the parts are cheap too.

Now you guys are starting to worry me with all these “North Bristol”. Hope it’s not in a town where I live, otherwise I’m sleeping with my bike!

Also a lot of farm burglaries around here.

I know the police found a Kona Coiler, and are looking for the owner, so at least they are active in the recovery of bikes.
