E-Class Mercedes you can have the option for 2 child seats in the boot. It does look like there are not many choices, not surprised as they are usually a crash/crumple zone.

What’s the point in having it if you don’t use it to it’s full potential!?

Although we are not taking it to The White Room next week! :|

I disable UAC when not connected to interwebs (disabled LAN) and doing CPU intensive work, such as encoding or video editing. I’ll also disable AV and stop a lot of other background services. I cannot believe how much faster things run.

Agreed it is not wise to disable it so you don’t have to click a button. It does a lot more than that.

You should only turn off UAC, if you know what you are doing

I have the hope bleed kit, which you can use your bike tyre, just as easy to use as the Gunson Easybleed.

That Tektro thing looks awesome, could be better with some LED’s.

Checkout this guide for SSD installation and optimisation. This will give you better performance and your SSD should last more than a couple of years.

You would need an uplift for both… Well I would. You don’t need a guide for Pila, it is very well marked. I’m not sure you would need a guide for La Thuile either.

I don’t think you can ride La Thuile after August, I believe the park is closed. I would imagine Pila would be the same (7th Sept Lifts Stop). They need to get ready for the start of the snow season.

Bought many a computer or barebones from Novatech. I’d recommend them.

I think Pila was my best days riding ever. Great fun on the WC & freeride sections. It’s a shame it closes on the 7th Sept.. Get to WR on the 6th.
Here’s some footage from Pila, La Thuile and a few other spots and the infamous Pat.

La Thuile is also damn good steep in places and good singletrack, here’s my video from last year.

As above, what software? Adobe Premiere? If so:

    i7, with decent Mobo
    16gb Minimum
    4x Hard Drives, 3x minimum
A CUDA enabled GFX Card, the more cores the better.
At least 2x 24″ Widescreen Monitors
Use a SSD as the scratch disk, there are a lot of tutorials on speccing a PC for video editing out there, but the above covers the basics.

A big tank is good, but really look at the flow rate of your compressor and the tools to work out what you need.

I wouldn’t go second hand. They rust from the inside out and when they go, they go big! You just don’t know how it was cared for.

I think I’m using a 6hp 200L petrol compressor and it’s only just man enough for sand blasting. I have seen places that have big tanks of compressed air inline which means the compressor isn’t going 24/7 and having the wait for the thing.

La Thuile lifts close on the 31st Aug.
Pila Lifts close on the 7th Sept.

Both worth a visit, Pila is more DH orientated, but they do have an 11km DH route that is pretty awesome.

Go for a swim in the lake, soak up the rays. Have an espresso and a bite to eat, then pass out at the prices!

You might get your revenge on the return. Last time I flew someone booked a flight home for 9am, so we have to get up at stupid O’Clock (5am) to get to Geneva. Our flight didn’t leave until 4pm, we try to drive now.

I think Les Arcs lifts close on the 30th August. Morzine / Les Gets closes on the 7th September. If someone could confirm as I would like to go somewhere for 14th-21st September.

ScotchGuard, just as good as Neverwet. Not that I’ve used NW, but i stepped in some mud my shoe was covered and nothing stuck.. ScotchGuard is good!

5/10’s take weeks to dry out, but a different shoe.

Fist time I went I took a 100mm Hardtail and didn’t die, but I bloody tried! I expect your enduro wheels will be fine. I think I’m right in saying it will be van uplifts with “a wee bit of climbing” as Stevo would say.

As per their website, spare brake pads are a must, last year some were using them at the rate of a set a day.

Just get yourself ready for endless epic Singletrack. I’ll be there the week before 6th September, unsure what we are doing for the 2nd week yet..

Polymorph is a mouldable plastic. Sugru is a silicon rubber. Milliput is the one you will want to use, it isn’t so sensitive to heat.

I’ve looked at this as going to WR 6th September.

The cheapest I found for a small van..
    EuroTunnel to France – £71.00
DFDS Ferry back to UK (Flexi) – £105.00
    TOTAL: £182.00

Nice tip for the Clubcard vouchers / EuroTunnel!
EDIT: You can also use the Clubcard vouchers for DFDS !

It’s broken, it was in your care and you were using it, you should buy him a replacement “like for like” or give him the same amount of money. Whether you wanted it or not is irrelevant.

I would definately upgrade your headunit first, then speakers (even £30 ones will be better tho), then fit a sub.

When making your headunit decision, get one that has sub woofer crossover and hi pass filtering on the speakers, it will make a world of difference to the soundstage. Checkout the Pioneer Reference Series.

Then sit down and start tinkering with all the faders and balances to get the soundstage just right. I generally use more front speaker than rear (rears are only for fill) and set the crossover around 100Hz, but it all changes with different cars.

As above, you will need a couple of ISO harnesses, makes it plug and play.

I wouldn’t worry about DAB, really quite bad quality.

Depending on his era, you could get a nice classic, MGB, Cortina, Capri, Escort, etc. I would ask your MiL what he used to drive and try and find something similar and surprise him.

Matt Black frame, White Forks, Seat & Hubs, Red Chainring Bolts, Red Floating Rotors, Black n Red Chain. Although there are no red bits on this picture as it was 2 years ago, and it doesn’t look as bad as you think it would.

I don’t think the ATV will be any better than your SmartTV.

The latest version of YouTube (updated last week) has broken background playing of videos over Airplay and will stop playing if your iPhone/iPad goes into sleep (1-2 minutes of not touching the screen).

Hopefully they will fix it, but you never know.

But they are still really handy for showing people videos or photos on your phone on a big screen. It’s just annoying watching a video and having to unlock the phone every 1-2 minutes.

No TV, Sofa’s or coffee tables? I would think your furniture dictates where they go and the Hi-Fi follows second.

    Couple of Rules
You don’t want a window right behind you. (treble reflection)
You don’t want a glass coffee table infront of you. (treble interference)

I’m sure there are a lot more rules, distance from walls, distance from each other and things.

Sorbothane – I use it for the decks, sub and gaming consoles. Works a treat. The sub actually sits on Sorbothane feet then a slab of Granite then another set of Sorbothane feet.

Ah I remember the daze of bass traps aka books & curtains, I mean acoustic tiles.

Just gone Limited and as above you can take out 29k in dividends, then make up the rest as your salary. As long as your salary is 8k or more so you pay some NI and a tiny amount of tax its all good  The company will have to pay tax on the dividend, but its a lot lower than your salary tax bracket and the company should be saving more money through going limited. All our savings were passed on to the shareholders.

Alexx – Hell yes, more and more companies are going Limited for this very reason of tax saving. You will be shocked at how much more a month you would get in your pocket.

Damn that’s quite bad! It happened to my forks too with the Mucky Nutz, but nowhere near as bad as that, I reduced it wetting the velco and stretching it around to keep it really tight. Although I thought it was pretty obvious it would dull the paintwork, just like a crud catcher does and eventually take off the paint after a few years, not a few days.

I will be applying helitape to the area before fitting on a new bike. I replaced the Velcro with cable ties which reduced the guard movement.
