And we’ve got really bad drivers here in the UK, I think this is appropriate.

Or go proper ‘niche’ Fatty with a bow & arrow

Is it really going to be a ride with Peaty? Or are you going to see him set off and thats it… He’s gone? Genuine question!

I’ll be going to the Bike Bonanza to see if there are any bargains. :-)

P-Jay, AC is not muddy, very far from it these days. Checkout some YT clips.

Depending where you go, be careful of potholes, or more to the point, oncoming traffic on your side of the road because of a pot hole on their side. This can include blind corners.

Apart from that, the standard seems to be on par with France 15 years ago. eg. overtaking on a single carriage way both ways at same time (4 a breast). Standards seem to get better the further out of tourist areas, probably because they are a lot of ex-pats outside the tourist areas!

    Paper templates
    Clean area with IPA
    Soapy water
Credit card type thing to squeeze out air
Hair dryer so it really sticks

It’s fine on Carbon. If you have a matt frame, go for the matt tape

I think you’ve done well for your first video!

A short video clip should be around 60 seconds, according to research into our attention span on watching video clips. I try and choose a song, place markers on every 8 or 16 beats (4mins’ish) and cut my video into short clips then arrange them so they flow.

First thing, make sure you are getting the most out of your camera.
    http://abekislevitz.com/understanding-video-in-the-hero4/%5B/url%5D

Different angles, different mounts, some people don’t like the same view on a whole video.

It really depends how much time you want to spend editing. A decent video editor like Final Cut Pro or Premiere may help in the long run, once you have learned how to use it.

Music is a personal choice, like Marmite, they love it or hate it. Color correction (use the american color as it returns a lot more tutorials) can also improve the video look quite a bit too.

Having said that these are not hard rules, I certainly do not follow them all.

Once you have a few videos/edits under your belt you’ll know what you want, what angles, which shots you want.

    Me: “Mr window yeaaaahhh..”
    Friend: “What!?”
Me: “Mr Window, I’m singing the song”
    Friend: “It ain’t Mr Window”
Me: “What!? Why the **** did you let me sing that all those years!!”
    Me: “What is it then?”
    Friend “Mr Wendal you muppet!”

This is the only one I can remember at the moment, but I’m terrible at translating lyrics.

The Mendel90 does look nice, but it’s nearly twice the price of the i3 kits. 8O

Also found the i3 with a big bed, 270x200x170mm. Now need to find a decent site/forum so I know if its rubbish or not!

Could do with a couple of custom gopro mounts, chain guides and loads of other things I don’t really need.

So many different Prusa i3’s to choose from, would really like a recommendation!

I like the ability to upgrade it to keep it up-to-date. Damn you Gravity-Slave!

Why did someone have to post about a £300 3D printer. It actually looks pretty good too with some DIY! So tempted, not tempted, looking to buy.

    Prusa i3 looks good.

Can we keep this as one list so it’s easy to follow?

    Fly a wingsuit
Have a go down a Bob Sleigh run
    Ride an Ostrich
    Win a world championship
    Get a land speed record
    Do a dakar
I want to learn to fly. A plane though none of that wing suit shenanigans.
I want to go to Iceland and get as close to a volcano as I dare.
I want to learn to white water kayak. This is actually a work in progress.
    skydive
    Climb Olympus Mons
I would like to canoe from Bassenthwaite lake to the Solway Firth before I kick it.
    Bobsleigh in Whistler
Skeleton is on my bucket list.
Month in Utah/USA travelling in an Airstream riding trails

If you’ve got decent lighting you can get very good photo’s from a top Smartphone. I know the iPhone 6 beat a £200 camera in some tests, the only let down was the lack of zoom.

Balance it, quickly run into position and take a photo before it hits the ground.

EDIT: Bollocks, someone else beat me to it!

Vans that you can’t get a coffee cup in, but you can get a can of coke in… If you drink half of it and rotate it 45 degrees to get the **** in!

3 seater vans with 1 cup holder..

The 3rd seat in a Berlingo thing… Even a child would struggle to sit in that half seat!

As a lot have said, ignition turning off after 20-30mins, damn annoying when trying to charge your phone for work.

My car beeps when your turn ignition off and leave key in.. It’s more like a flatlining sound, constant, ear piercing and not needed.

They still aren’t as quick as de-icer tho.

You mean a heated windscreen? I had a Ford heated windscreen and it was great. My current car does not have a heated windscreen, but I don’t notice that either as de-icer is a lot faster.

De-icer for the outside, Air Con for de-misting the inside.

Cougar – Yes, very usable, I only find the slow downs occur with PS1 and games that use the advanced gfx chips inside consoles such as Star Fox on SNES. I’m hoping it’ll be amazing with the Pi2.

ZiLog – I would use RetroPie, it has the setups for controllers and everything else all built in. It does MAME very well, Doom and Quake III work perfectly! I was/am using a Pi B, 2x PS3 controllers on bluetooth.

I forgot how good Micro Machines is!

Thanks guys, tried Etoile De Neige and a few others, most are fully booked for the end of August already! Is there something going on that I don’t know about.

Decided to start editing some footage from the last visit, here’s a clip.

Just under 6 months to go… Not that I’m counting.

I don’t know, but I didn’t know if it was sleigh or sledge, so to avoid being berated I thought I would go with toboggan.

What I’m saying is, if you don’t want snow buy a toboggan/sledge, one like this:

You are then pretty much guaranteed it will not snow.

I bought a toboggan 2 years ago and we have not had any snow since.

My friend tested a Bronson C a couple of times and I rode my Scott Genius LT (180mm) to give a fair comparison. Usually I cruise behind him despite us having the same bike.. He was a lot faster on the Bronson and it was his first time on it.

I am tempted by the Nomad. I would definately consider a Bronson or Nomad if I were you.

I thought Nitrogen was only used as it is less of a fire risk. I definately remember filling some tyres on Concorde with Air not Nitrogen. 8O

EDIT: doh just seen Hot Fiat’s response.

    Sweet! :D

Got 2 sets of these, both have the same problem with the 2 step screwing up after a few days of hard riding in the Alps or a few weeks in the UK. They generally need repairing twice a year, want the new Fox Talas 36 180/140mm… But I cannot find them anywhere.

Yes, I have had it drop to 170mm previously, these have just come back from a service including replacement piston n seals in the 2 step.

It’s only 5mm, but I was wondering if anyone would accept or not accept this?

What are you using to access the FTP server? PC/iPhone/Android
Which FTP client are you using?
Have you connected the iUSBPort to your network? (I would think: yes, IP 192.168.1.103)

I would test it using a PC and telnet. go to command prompt and type
    telnet 192.168.1.103 21

IF you get “could not open connection…” then either the IP address is wrong or it is not connected to your LAN.
