Great idea! But… What would happen to the box if its sealed and the battery explodes? Would it shatter the ammo box sending shrapnel everywhere? Serious question, I have no idea how tough ammo boxes are. I have some biiig Lipo batteries.
MilkieFree MemberBrakes – I got an email from Ebuyer about this Laptop for £290
I have no idea if it is any good.MilkieFree Member+1 Rusty Shackleford – The new PS4, runs quieter and slightly faster. You can always upgrade the HD when needed.
MilkieFree MemberGaming Laptops are super expensive, loud, rubbish battery life & expensive, they really are just a small PC, not really portable. You need a power supply, it needs to be on a flat hard surface for cooling and for it not to burn your legs. A tower equivalent will be cheaper, quieter and probably faster if the same spec.
When looking for a PC for gaming, think of the “Recommended PC Requirements” as the minimum requirements. As in a years time those recommended requirements will probably be the minimum for new games.
I have an MSI gaming laptop…for work?. It is super quick, super loud when doing GFX intensive stuff and gets super hot and the price reflects this. Feels well built, battery life is 40m ish, for surfing internet, I wouldn’t run a game/video package without it plugged in.
As said above, its a whole lot easier and cheaper to upgrade a desktop, buy a decent desktop and the only thing your kid will be hassling you to get him in a year is a graphics card which will be twice the amount you are willing to pay, but at least its cheaper than buying a whole new gaming laptop.
GeekIT: IF you already have a decent PC that can handle it, you could use NVidia GameStream or Steam In-Home Streaming[/url]. This enables you to remotely play games on your PC on another computer/screen in the house. EG I have a gaming PC upstairs & a Raspberry Pi in the living room. I can play my PC games in the living room through the Pi. It is only using the Pi to display the game, all the GFX and inputs is handled by the gaming PC.
MilkieFree MemberI have the UE Boom, JBL Flip 2 and a cheap Amazon special. UE Boom is miles better than either of them, with not much between the Flip and cheapo one. I think they have updated the UE Boom too.
MilkieFree MemberMe not likey, I find him very boring… Roadkill on the other hand is freakin awesome!
MilkieFree MemberI’m starting to build a arcade coffee table and these are my must have emulators/games.
Atari – 2600/5400/7800 – Pac-Man/Asteroids/Breakout/Pong
Sega – Master/Mega/CD/32x – Alex Kidd/Sonics/Mortal Kombat/Streets of Rage
Spektrum/Amstrad/Commodore – Manic Miner/Elite/R-Type
Playstation 1&2 – Tekken/THPS/GT1&2/Crash Bandicoot/Micro Machines/Worms
Nintendo – NES/SNES/N64 – Marios/Kart/Brutal Mario/Bomberman/DK/Killer Instinct/GoldenEye X
Neo-Geo – King of Fighters/Blazing Star/Metal Slug/Fatal Fury
PC – Wolfenstein 3d, Quake 1/2/3, Duke Nukem 3D/Darkplaces…Keep the games coming, I had totally forgotten about Desert/Jungle/Urban Strike.
I’m currently using a Pi2 running RetroPie with 2x Wireless PS3 Controllers. I will be upgrading the Pi to a 3ghz+ PC to run Goldeneye X and PS2 games… Eventually.
MilkieFree MemberBourg Saint Maurice or Seez in France. Prices aren’t too bad either. I haven’t lived there, but the riding is freakin awesome.
MilkieFree MemberMy tip would be to ride once or twice and get them serviced. Mine had very little oil in the lowers.
Oh and don’t scratch/dent the stantions on rocks on your first ride. You will be very pissed off. :(
MilkieFree MemberSo much easier to post a link than write it.

MilkieFree MemberAlcohol, Rizla, tea bags, milk, sugar, some of her favourite sweets, etc and anything you may want while visiting.
MilkieFree MemberDespite stories like this, I’m still considering a top spec Capra
House mate has the Capra CF Pro, rode it 3 times and the Kirk shock lever is screwed. The shock is now with YT who will send it to BOS.
Crossmax wheels are poor quality, managed to completely trash the rear wheel in 2 runs at BPW 8O, he was running 35psi in the rear. One big dent on one side of the rear rim and 3 smaller ones. Rim is completely out of shape and needs to be thrown away. On top of that you are supposed to rebuild them with new spokes, expensive spokes too! He has now ordered a set of 38mm LB wheels on Hope Hubs.
YT customer service has improved loads, getting replies in under 24hours, so top job to YT for improving!
It is a lovely bike though, he is faster/more confident on the downs and feels more comfortable on it over his Genius LT. For now he’ll be riding the Genius LT as the Capra is in bits waiting parts!
MilkieFree Member^ That Nomad is lovely, I wouldn’t want to ride it, as I wouldn’t want it to get dirty, it would just be hung on the wall gathering dust! Looks awesome.
MilkieFree MemberI hate Twinnings tea, love Miles tea. I had a few free samples from Teapigs.co.uk, was impressed and have ordered some weird flavours, popcorn, chocolate, chilli, etc, I’m not expecting to like all flavours.
MilkieFree Member30mm ain’t wide! I’m hearing good things about Light Bicycle Rims, 35-38mm wide.
MilkieFree Member+1 for Topeak Smart Gauge, accurate, easy to use, suits both valve types.
MilkieFree MemberI hope those evo tubes are better than the Eclipse inner tubes. The Eclipse tubes were a bit hit n miss, leaked air and had to be very careful when fitting. I found it was very easy to get holes near the valve, I see the Evo tubes have a bit of extra plastic around the valve to combat. They are under half the price of the Eclipse tubes, so I’ll give them a go, I have never got on with tubeless when running super low pressures 15-25psi.
I used the Eclipse tubes in the Alps and didn’t get a puncture and this year I used stupidly light tubes in the Alps and only got one puncture, which was due to running a really low pressure, I would’ve got a puncture no matter what tube. But then I could be really slow, rubbish rider.
I always have a lightweight tube in my bag, having a 400g tube in your backpack makes a big different to a 120g tube, also takes up half the room.
MilkieFree MemberI have a HP Microserver too, I bought it a few years ago and tried MS Homeserver 2011 and ended up running Windows 7 Pro due to compatibility of programs and hardware.
AV & Firewall = Kaspersky
External File Access – I use Dropbox linked to the server
I’m not a huge fan of Kodi, good as a player but that’s it. For a DLNA/Media server I would use Plex or Serviio (I use Serviio).
I also have a defrag program that runs daily at night, but I can’t remember the program name.
iTunes server – mainly for the ATV screensaverMilkieFree MemberAnybody use one of those streaming boxes that a mate can get down the pub?
Yes, they are not very good & rubbish quality and that’s all I can say unless I want this post deleted.
Just changed to Virgin to enjoy the HD channels and 200mb broadband. Already a customer and got it for £58pm inc line rental. Also have Netflix, but I’m probably going to ditch that soon.
MilkieFree MemberHaha you can definitely tell there are some old cronies here with some of the comments.
MilkieFree MemberFootage looks excellent!
Which GoPro is that?My footage? Well if it is.. GoPro Hero 3 Black, but its probably the encoding settings that make it look half decent, still rubbish compared to the original.
…vid is a different one its the swift G2
The Swift G2 is only a 2 axis gimbal, the Feiyu WG is a 3 axis gimbal.
MilkieFree MemberAlso im guessing no case on the gopro with that version?
Correct no case, I don’t think the Gimbal is waterproof either, not that it matters as the GoPro isn’t either.
seems a bit laggy in picking up turns
You can change the “heading following mode” from slow to fast. I haven’t played with the settings yet and don’t know if it was on slow or fast. I just charged the batteries and took it for a ride.
MilkieFree MemberYes it was the Sam Pilgram footage that made me think “How can I not know about these!” and then bought one from Tomtop for about £150, comes with 2 sets of batteries and a nice case!
MilkieFree MemberI think the CAA rules are fine and have been around for years, although recently updated. I think the public perception is going to be the problem.
I’m not really looking forward to getting my Autonomous drone due to the amount of people that seem to get arsey about them, even if you stick to the CAA rules.
I’ve had Heli’s & RC cars before, even with cameras and people would come up and ask questions, never got pissy, despite the huge amount of noise the RC’s put out with an engine revving to 18,000rpm. I don’t think this will be the case with a drone and they are much quieter. I’m hoping its a minority and not the majority that will throw a hissy fit.
I’ll be keeping a flight log as I do with all my flying toys, copies of the CAA & photography rules to hand out & use an app that shows all UK no fly zones.
Hopefully the more drones over the years, the less people will care. I remember people getting funny about GoPro’s filming on the trails, and now most groups of people have a GoPro.
MilkieFree MemberI use Siri a lot as I am quite forgetful.
Siri, remind me when I get home to…
Siri, set an appointment for 1pm on the 25th for physio
Siri, cancel all alarms!
^^ This works on friends phones if they are plugged in, just say “hey siri…”MilkieFree MemberI’ve been looking at this sort of thing for some MTB’s I need to hang on the wall.. Haven’t found a suitable solution for wide MTB bars. :(
MilkieFree MemberUnless your monitor is calibrated it may not show the correct colour.
MilkieFree MemberDream bike… probably what I’ve got or what I can buy off the shelf… But with a stealth electric assist and not weighing any more.
MilkieFree MemberHe’s after decent quality and the answer is just stick in a sub?
Basically yes, if you already have 2 decent speakers (2/3way) up front along with tweeters and you are wanting quality. Adding more speakers in the rear screws up the soundstage/stereo image, especially 6×9’s on a parcel shelf, unless you get fancy and put a low pass filter on them so only lower frequencies pass through them which won’t affect the soundstage as much.
Speakers should be pointed at the intended listeners. If you have rear speakers, they should be pointed roughly at the ears of the rear passengers. Having speakers on the bench they are sitting on will only create a muddy sound creating peaks n troughs throughout the frequency range. The only time I would put speakers under a seat is if it was pointing out the door. Then it would be on a switch so I can turn them on when camping to annoy all the STW campers.
MilkieFree MemberThere be new rules for hiring cars with a UK licence as the paper part has been abolished. You need to get a code from the DVLA which you give to the hire company, apparently without the code you cannot get a hire car. You will still need your driving licence card as well as the code from the DVLA. The code is only valid for 3 days from the DVLA.
This came into effect on the 8th June 2015.
MilkieFree MemberGenerally yes you would require an amp, but an active sub has an amp built in. If it is your first time at ICE I would go with an active sub.
I have one of these active subs:
http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-alpine-swe-815_p-27715.htm
I was very surprised at how much bass it throws out, it’s enough to make your insides and mirrors vibrate, but not enough for the whole street to hear you coming. It is also really quite small! I’ll be fitting one in a Mk2 Escort & V8 Capri soon and still have loadsa room in the boot.MilkieFree MemberIf its sound quality you want rather than loudness or for rear passengers, just stick a Sub/Active Sub in to deal with the bass/sub bass.
MilkieFree MemberI turn on the TV it defaults to the TV Guide with a little display of the current live TV channel… Half an hour later I realise I’m watching it in the poxy little box on the TV guide… Can’t be arsed to move to get the remote.
In other lazy news… I have a WiFi Kettle.. Because I can’t be arsed to get up to turn the kettle on and wait for it to boil.
MilkieFree MemberI’ve had both the Chromecast & FireTV Stick and definately prefer the FireTV Stick. You can install Kodi on it and then the watching possibilities are endless. You can also play games and there are all sorts of apps for it.
MilkieFree MemberSquirrels are those horrible grey tree rats that are starting to overtake up here too?
Do they shout STRAAAVA too?
MilkieFree MemberI recently swapped a HD for a MM and the grip is great, HD suffered in loose stuff the MM just sticks.
I also swapped a HD on the rear for a RR and surprise surprise, there is no grip on when braking with the rear.
MilkieFree MemberFind cat owner to make sure its not being treated then treat cat and use this in the house:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acclaim-200-Household-flea-spray/dp/B003ZJA6KC
It kills flea’s and insects. In a house with 3 cats, 2 dogs, various other animals and one person working as a Veterinary Nurse, we have never had fleas.
