I’ve just spent the last couple of years replacing all my vinyl with digital copies. The vinyl’s sound absolutely shocking whether its a £20 or £200 needle. The main reason is they were over played and not cared for by the people using them, including me! The majority have a skip at the beginning from my friends constantly scratching the record back n forth waiting for the beat, or just that worn that the needle doesn’t sit in the groove.

I will never get rid of any of them and they still get used/abused.

Also wrecked a few 70’s classic albums through trying to mix n scratch them.. Quite literally scratch them!

Ford Racing Puma will be a classic, I have already seen the prices double in 3 years, really kicking myself I didn’t jump at the one for £2k a few years ago yes there was rust, same goes for the Mk1 Focus RS. For some reason Ford classics always go for a fair wedge of cash, but not before they hit rock bottom prices.

    Skyline GTR’s
    GT86
    Audi RS’s 3/4/6
    Integra Type R
    Clio 182/172
    205 GTi
    M3 CSL’s
    Impreza

The only way to buy a car with the hope it makes money, is to buy the most standard/original well kept one you can and then put it in temperature/humidty controlled bubble for the next 10-40 years.

I had not noticed that before.. I hope they are working! They are probably due a proper service, or it could be that I haven’t set them up correctly, but they felt amazing compared to the Lyriks!

FeiyuTech G3 WG Chest Mounted for me! It certainly improves the quality of the video as there is no or less jerkiness.

This is my test video and quite boring, but it was to see if the Gimbal works and what it feels like to wear it on your chest.

for you 6s users, is the screen big enough for reading books, magazines etc

For me, only just. I am contemplating the plus size, but wonder what its like to live with in my pocket when out and about.

I have an ePrance 0803 dashcam, there are now newer/better ones. It really is a fit and forget device, small enough to be hidden infront of the rear view mirror, hardly visible outside the car. It runs from USB power, luckily my headunit has USB power at the rear, but also came with a 12v-5v converter you could hide in your dash. It records for 2 minutes after powerloss, although you can change this in settings. It has a load of settings that I’ll never use. The quality is pretty good and records over previous footage once the card is filled.

My reason for getting one is I work on an industrial estate at the end of the road. When leaving, cars giving way to the road I’m on do not look right, there have been many near misses over the years and one day it won’t be a miss. I’d like to have it on camera that you can clearly see the person did not look before entering the road.

I’m going to guess it’s only mobile devices that it is not visible on. I have had this with some videos when the music is copyright protected, listening to the song you have chosen, I would bet this is the reason.

Could it be the TV settings on the BluRay input? I know I had to set up all my inputs on the TV to get the best out of them, like turning off the cinema bollocks and dynamic crap and smooth motion my arse.

I think I have tinnitus because I have sensitive ears

That is what I thought, but really it was the early on set of Tinnitus.

If it was tinnitus, I’d hear it elsewhere.

Not true really. I have Tinnitus, but only notice it at home late at night when it is quiet and can come in different forms. Pulsing of my heart beat/blood going to brain at a low pitch, similar to a Heli hovering nearby  or high pitch ringing, or complete distortion of sound. A lot of the time I don’t notice the Tinnitus until it stops, then I think I’ve just gone deaf, but really its just the Tinnitus has stopped.

Be careful of rust, very careful.

I’m pretty sure rust will not be an issue if it has an MOT, as he said he only needs it for 3 months.

puma is not such a good shout – working where i do many people have had them, and at least 10 of them had to get the rr subframe bushes replaced and its an 800 quid job apparently. most chose to sell it

Rear Subframe bushes are not £800! Someone is taking you for a ride! Under £200 inc bushes, or £70 if you get Poly Bushes and do it yourself.

Cheap Mondeo is a good shout if you need to take bikes.

Seriously look at the Ford Puma. They are extremely cheap, I have seen one go for £300 including Tax & MOT and it was cared for. If anything does go wrong with it, parts are cheap and easily fixed. They are £250 – £600 on Fleabay.

The 1.7 is quite pokey and the handling is perfect. When it comes to selling it, strip the interior out and take it for a thrashing at a local track day.

EDIT: After writing this, I realise it isn’t really related to the Topic, but screw it, I’m posting it.

Most of my calls for “IT problems” are:

User: “I can’t log in, it says I’ve entered the wrong password, but I haven’t”
Me: “Change the username to your username, someone else used that machine since.”
User: “I have done that and it still says it’s the wrong password”
I look at the workstation login screen”
Me “You haven’t changed the username! Whats your username?
    User: *username*
Me “What does it say next to username”
User: “ummm, someone else that isn’t my username”

I wouldn’t mind if it was only once per user I got this… I had this with the same person 4 times in one week! I really do wonder what they think username means when they haven’t entered it. It has happened a few times after that too.

If you think that’s bad, I was on a phone call and said “Now press Enter”. He was on the other end of the phone saying “E….N….T….E….R”, cue me going red and shouting “I said PRESS enter, not type Enter”, he was then on the other end of phone trying to convince me his keyboard doesn’t have an enter key. He had the same keyboard as me, as I was the one that installed it, it clearly says Enter.

I know its an IT crowd moment saying “Restart the computer”, but the amount of times I ask people to restart the computer and then come back and they say they have, I check and they haven’t then restart and it is fixed. What do people think restarting it is, taking a break from the computer for 5 minutes?

Angry IT person, Yes, when I have to deal with complete numbnuts! This is why I generally try to not deal with ab.users.

Kodi is software, it can run on Laptop’s, ATV, Amazon Stick, Pi’s & loads more things.

I find the quality of films/TV series quite poor and live TV is terrible.

Don’t worry because all the normal Ford wheel nuts will shed a chromed outer cover when you try to undo them, leaving behind a nut head that is now too small for the supplied socket.

So True! Just had to replace all the wheelnuts and had the exact same thought about locking wheel nuts… Do I need them? Nope.. But they are in my hand and I’ll be pissed off if someone did still the wheels.

    This

I haven’t worked anywhere that uses CAD technicians/draughtsmen. The engineers do the 3D modelling

I’ve been using CAD/AutoCAD for 15 years and I have to agree with most people here, you need to bring more than just CAD, you need to know your industry to excel. Everyone I know who does CAD does a hell of a lot more than just CAD, but you need to start somewhere and CAD Technician/Monkey will mean you’ve got your foot in the door and can actually start learning.

The jobs i’ve seen for CAD technician don’t seem to pay very well unless you bring something else to the table.

We are talking about Cardboard Aided Designs yea? #Binky

Not all HDMI cables are the same. Most made now are v1.4, but be careful they are not v1 (cheap eBay ones can be) as they do not support Ethernet or 4K.

As said above “High Speed” Cable is what you want, which is a v1.4a cable. Amazon Basics are good quality cables.

I have a soft spot for a couple of Jap classics…
The Celica – Slightly modded, but maybe not as much as this.

    240z Rotson/RatRod/Roadkill look

These two are on my short list along with Mk1 Escort Estate and a Volvo Amazon. My friends will hate me when I call in my favours.

Bronson… The Capra will spend more time having bits fixed than on the trails. 4 weeks for rear shock to be fixed, rode it once and realised the front shocks are screwed. They went back 5 weeks ago and have been told they are another 4 weeks away! The headset cup is ovalated and apparently they said this is normal. It has spent more time in bits than anything else. I would not recommend it.

Personally I don’t like EBC pads, wear quickly, overheat and not that great braking. It all depends on the type of driving, Mintex 1144’s or Ferodo DS2500’s, but that’s really for track days and high speed big braking.

Portishead live at Ashton Court in Brizzle at the Free Festival, back in the daze of ’97 ish? I was at the front crushed against the barrier and I asked… “Why haven’t I heard this band before and where are they from”

The DJ who did the warm up was absolutely awesome, some great scratching and dropping a huge amount of awesome tunes.

I don’t class hearing Kylie, Jason, Big Fun, Sonia, London Boys at a hitman n her roadshow soundcheck as a “live gig”, but if I did that would’ve been 91-93’ish.

Now thinking about it, I’m not sure if Chicane live at Lakota was before Portishead, it really was a daze back then.

I’m going all out for pancakes this evening.
    Savory
American Pancakes with bacon/parma, cheese n maple syrup
Pancakes with Broccoli & Cheese & probably some other savory ones, but last year the american ones were very filling.
    Sweet
    Lemon n cheese
    Kinder pancakes
    Creme Egg pancakes
    Cooked strawberries n creme pancakes
    Loadsa spinkles & chocolate flakes
Reese’s filling & all the others, caramel, chocolate, etc
There is a Gordon Ramsay chocolate pancake that I’ll be trying with cream and ice cream.

    I cannot wait!

I’m just about to watch episode 3. Erm, because I’m in America, of course.

It’s a Darin Morgan episode, I can’t wait. I’m expecting this to be very silly.
Now I know that, it makes that episode not so shit!

I hear its only going to have 6 episodes and I didn’t think much of the first 3.

I’ve only had my printer for a month, but I’m loving it. I’ve managed to get it working with OctoPi with WiFi, Camera & Touchscreen.

    Stormtrooper Valve Caps
    GoPro Lens Hood
    GoPro Skeleton Case
Bar Plugs, going to put my own design on these

I plan on designing & printing a seat rail or seat post mount to get the GoPro as close to the seat as possible, otherwise it rubs on the rear wheel and disappears on bigger hits.

I will have to design a Pi camera case for my printer and a touchscreen case. There are loads of things to design and print that aren’t bike related. I’m not happy leaving the house when the printer is still going, I have visions of coming back to a house on fire.

Please tell me this doesn’t actually happen, the kids may be reading some very inappropriate things!

I thought it was phone number by default, if you want the phone messages on other devices to sync you have to activate it on each device?
iMessage is connected to your Apple account which in turn is connected to your phone number. So if you give your kids your old phone and use your Apple account, then they will get the messages too. Guy at work gave his daughter his old phone, linked to his Apple account and both of their messages and contacts are produced on both phones.

Genuine question for those who find that iMessage works for you. How do you deal with this scenario?

    – You have iMessage turned on
    – You send a message to someone who also uses iMessage
    – You have mobile data signal as does one of the recipients devices so the iMessage gets delivered (it shows blue)
    – The contact you’re trying to message is somewhere with their iPhone but with no mobile data signal so doesn’t get the iMessage on their phone
    – You want to send them a message that doesn’t rely on them having mobile data i.e. SMS
The iPhone sorts all that out, but if they have mobile data turned off, then I’m guessing they won’t get a message as it is WAP which is considered as mobile data, which would be same case for any phone.

Double click speed only sets the minimum speed. There are no drivers, apparently, for the Corsair Raptor Gaming LM3 mouse. It isn’t a laptop.

I will carry on hitting the mouse buttons damn hard getting frustrated that double clicks have to be done very slowly.

    It’s got me properly stumped!

Mate has the 20105 YT Capra CF Pro Race. In 3 rides this has happened, we don’t ride too hard or much, the rides consisted of 2x Afan Whites & 1x BPW.

1.The Mavic Crossmax Enduro wheels made of cheese, buckled and rim dented.
YT accused him of riding it too hard and they are not covered by warranty. So he ordered LB Carbon 38mm Wheels. Look online a lot of people have the same problem.

    2. The lockout lever broke, sent shock to YT who sent it to Boss.
It took just under 5 weeks to get it back.

    3. I discovered he has the Capra Crack, or BOSS crack, steerer/crown crack.
Emailed YT 2 weeks ago, no response yet.

    4. On further inspection the frame upper headset cup is oval, bearing rattles about. It is also just carbon fibre frame, no metal insert for the bearing to sit in. Also the headset has scored the frame where they did not install it correctly.
Again emailed 2 weeks ago, no response yet.

Would I buy a Capra, nope! Really nice bike, but some of the details just ain’t right.

I don’t understand why they have brought them back and not updated them with some features. I was hoping for extra features like the mk5G’s had. 8%/16% pitch range, key lock, variable start n stop speed, optical out/digital out.

Although these days all those features are pretty much redundant as you can do that with software such as Serato, but still would be nice to have a digital out and an analogue without the ground.

I can see why they haven’t updated them much, I have a set of mk3’s and they are still sweet, but not as sweet as the 1200GE’s I use.

I have a setup that is very similar to SONOS except a lot cheaper. I have a Logitech Media Server, on a server, and a Pi in most rooms connected to a speaker or the room stereo. Each Pi runs PiCorePlayer, I then use the iPeng app to play music to all rooms, or a selection of rooms. Perfectly synced between rooms, no delay from room to room.

You can also use Spotify and all the other online streaming sites.

Genius LT. I have an older one and love it as you can change the travel from 180>120mm and for XC days drop it down to 140F/120R. A few guides were loving theirs, but never sure if they just say that hoping you’ll buy an ex-demo one from them.

Sooo…. based on that. 50 Billion chickens are reared and killed a year, so only 50 million whales a year would have to be killed…. I think its probably harder to rear a whale than a chicken.
