Hard to tell from photo but looks like paint cracking. Got one or two chips on paint on mine. Would Def get it checked by shop you got it from though

Depends on their experience etc of course, but we took my 12 yr old granddaughter and 9th old disabled grandson (on a trailer bike) around Dalbeattie,Kirroughtree and Marie a few years ago and they had fun on them all. Dalbeattie blue flat and easy,Mabie a bit more swoopy and Kirroughtree a bit more techy. None as good as Glentress but they do have short skills areas which are quite good for testing/pushing themselves (and you!)

Last time I met a landowner he told me off for riding singletrack through his forest and told me to get on the footpath where I belong

I too used to ride it over 20 years ago with my family, usually up, we would see how far we could get,it’s funny what counted as fun in the 90s None of us ever cleaned it but we all managed to clean every section on separate occasions. The first section was the ‘easy’ bit so it must have deteriorated a fair bit cos now it’s one of the hardest. I wouldn’t dream of climbing it now, and would rightly be arrested for child abuse if I tried to make 12 year old do it, but I love it as a descent even though it will rattle my old bones to bits one day (hopefully, what a way to go )

I’ve always run reverb under the bar, feel they are better that way. Had a reverb since they first came out, and run them on 3 different bikes, currently running stealth one under bar on my bronco, never had an issue. Buy a right hand remote and mount it on left of your bar if you running 10th or 1×11

I used to camp near Mt vent our a few years ago and take my mob. Plenty of bridleways marked on the map but a bit hit and miss on the ground, lots of scope to explore but there was a local group used to ride from bus let baronies midweek so you could shortcut the hit and miss phase. Harsh terrain, limestone, unfriendly vegetation. Good luck, have fun

I reckon they are well worth it. Wore 661 hard pads for years, a couple of years ago got some soft shell pads, have (cough) tested them a few times and can vouch for their effectiveness

Definitely Cavedale, esp if your southern softies hate rocks, they will never forgive you. Just don’t get stuck behind a Hora as momentum is key, and you’ll be lucky not to encounter bipedal trail obstacles puffing up from Castleton especially at weekends. It’s a cracking descent, one of the best in the Peaks

I’ve been using high rollers for a while, and have always found them a bit prone to tearing around the edge of the knobs, have even had them split,I just accept it as a down side to a great tyre.
