TSN aren’t showing the TdF,  unfortunately.

One of my sporting heroes. I grew up a Liverpool fan and Kenny is not only the greatest player to ever play for the club, he’s also a true hero off the field.

As others have said,  I don’t like the honours system but if anyone deserves it it’s Kenny Dalglish.

If she doesn’t want her kids in posh class then the whole family should sit in cattle.  It is not the responsibility of the airline staff or other passengers to babysit her children.

My UK Forerunner has worked fine since I got to Canada, so…. yes.

Bought the VA 3 yesterday and so far I’m impressed: the HR seems to work well and the smartphone notifications are useful. I haven’t used it for activities yet but hope to get out for a run today.

Sizewise, it is about perfect for my skinny wrist and just looks like a slightly thicker watch. It’s also pretty comfy to wear.

I’ll let you know how I get on, if I can convince myself to spend the cash.

That’s a good point, actually: Do I want to be wearing something like the S3 doing the outdoorsy activities I do? Possibly not.

My friend uses his S3 for fitness tracking and rates it. My main concern is the size on my stupidly skinny wrists. Also, the Frontier has more fitness tracking options than the standard S3, I believe.

Conversely, I have a friend who has an S3 and he loves it.

Thanks for the replies folks, I might treat myself to a “new job/country” pressie.

I think the S3 is more than I want to spend, so does anyone have the Vivoactive 3? Any good?

After 30 odd years of watching stage racing I give up. His doctor is magnificent.

Eh? So after the Armstrong years, the Landis period, the Contador issue, the Millar banning, whole teams being implicated etc etc., NOW is the time you give up? A time when the winner of a stage hasn’t even been found guilty of anything? Bizarre.

If he was dirty, surely the last thing Froome would want to do now is put in a performance that will have people asking questions. I’m not saying there isn’t anything in the current accusations, but it just seems weird that a rider who is currently being investigated would dose himself up and then put on a show like that. It doesn’t make sense.

Great effort by Froome. I only managed to watch the last 2km on a live stream, but he blew the race apart.

I watched the Chemical Brothers at Glasto (on TV) a few years ago and wondered the same thing: Apparently, in their case, they improvise quite a lot of the sounds, using the record as a blueprint and take it from there. I am not an electronic music fan – quite the opposite, actually – but I quite enjoyed CB and, if it’s true they do improvise much of their live stuff, they are rather good at it.

+1 for Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. However, I do worry that due to it’s graphic nature, it would have to be seriously diluted in order to get any kind of theatrical release, which may ruin it.

I think most McCarthy would make great films.

Is there anywhere online you can watch extended highlights? There’s only 3 minute clips on YT.

Sorry, just saw this. I will be working in Vancouver as an architectural technician, but, initially, living in Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge area with friends. I will then consider where best to live after I’ve tested the water.

TBH I am not really anxious about moving countries, other than leaving friends and family behind. <span style=”font-size: 12.8px;”>Fortunately, I already have a good network of friends out there, which will help ease things a bit</span><span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>; I am more anxious about the job and working in a different system. </span>

Other than the awesome biking and scenery, I am most excited about living somewhere different for the first time in about 30 years.

I’ve just had a slab of brownie one of the women in the office made as it’s her birthday tomorrow.

It also happens to be my last day before I move to Canada on Sunday.

I can recommend Osprey packs: They are pretty comfy. The size will depend on what you choose to take: I have a Escapist 32 because I used to commute up to Uni and needed the space for books, laptop etc., however, you could go smaller if you want to.

I’m wondering if it’s worth bothering: It’s on my DH bike and I never need to adjust the saddle, which is also why it’s seized. The only reason I noticed it is I was packing it for the plane and it wouldn’t fit in the box with the saddle on. In the end I just took and saddle off and it fitted.

A friend of mine recommended Transferwise so I may give them a go. Presumably, I can only do that when I’m over there and have a Canadian bank account.

OK, thanks. I’ll check them out. It appears Moneycorp do a similar service.

Thanks folks. I think I’ll go for a new arm or crankset: I’m moving to Canada on Sunday and don’t really have time to faff around with various engineering solutions.

Nothing wrong with the Tiagra one, IMO.

£50 for a new arm, which seems expensive, given the whole chainset only costs £70

thankfully a few channels now have ex Ref’s if not on their panels, somewhere in a studio telling them what the law really says.

From what I’ve seen, they don’t seem to know any more than anyone else: The guy doing the Roma/Liverpool game said the TAA incident was a definite penalty: If you go by the laws of the game, it clearly wasn’t.

It’s OK, I’ve managed to get one from Pedalon.

Thanks, but no: My one is only 5mm diameter.

The TAA one wasn’t a penalty, either: It wasn’t deliberate and he was too close to react. The 2 penalties Roma got were not even close to being penalties. I don’t think they are even debatable. oh, and their opener was a stroke of unbelievable luck, for them.

Don’t forget, we had a stonewall penalty not given when Mane was fouled in the first half. Not to mention a number of offside decisions that went against us (and for us, in a few cases.

Overall, the 4-2 scoreline flattered Roma and made the tie appear closer than it actual was.

    Wooooooooooooooooooppp!!

That penalty was a joke, much like the one in the first game.

Guitar players are a conservative bunch tho, if you get too creative with the core product they just don’t sell because they are associated with the old 70s rocker

So, nothing to do with the extortionate pricing and poor quality control that sees other, cheaper brands surpass them in almost every way, then?

    [Liverpool fan]

I have a horrible feeling those 2 late goals and our injuries will come back and bite us tonight. I really hope I’m wrong but I’m prepared for the worst.

I’ve just had a very good experience with them: booked Sunday, collected Monday, delivered successfully Tuesday.

The only real issue was I didn’t get confirmation of collection day until the Monday morning, which meant I had to drive to work with the box, whereas I would have taken it the night before if I’d known, and then cycled in as usual (although the terrible weather on Monday meant I wasn’t too heartbroken).

It’s not the guitars or their quality that’s the problem

It may not be the main reason but it’s certainly contributed; people have been moving away from new Gibson guitars for a while. They have suffered from over pricing and poor quality control for a number of years. Even professional musicians have been going elsewhere, with the likes of ESP offering better customer service, better quality and more reasonable pricing.

At this rate just call me Dave will be back in office.

I suspected when she took over May will end up making Cameron look like an enlightened leftie by comparison. However, Cameron deserves to be lynched for starting the Brexit fiasco so he’d better stay hidden.
