I did that as a result of moving countries.

Unfortunately, that’s not an option I have, but glad it worked out for you.

    What type of business?

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I’m in Vancouver.

I have considered mining, and possibly mine remediation, but I’m a bit wary of a “out of the frying pan, into the fire”-type situation.

I would suggest computer games but your age is against you and most companies discriminate.

Similarly, I’d quite like to focus on architectural visualisation, but that’s an industry that suffers from the same issues, as well as out-sourcing to India and the far-East.

I do recall being skeptical about “some” stretching and I am convinced certain types exacerbate it.

I’m not convinced, either. I’ll probably mention it when I go next Thursday. However,  there is definitely something tight down there that is reducing the freedom of movement so it needs some work.

Went to the physio last night: I have achilles tendinopothy, apparently (formerly, tendonitis). Had ultrasound etc. and told to limit distance, avoid hills and do some particular stretches. Going back next week for some more “active” physio.

Good idea about pencils: take many.

Oh, and the security: Jeez! Its run tighter than air force one.

Be prepared for lots of waiting, and hope you get an early time for your speaking. I had a 3 hour wait.

I did one earlier this year, also for my Canadian work permit.  It’s easy, but it’s also easy to zone out, especially during the listening test. As long as you focus it’s a doddle.

I found a few of the questions open to interpretation,  but try not to over think it.

The speaking one is interesting: I got one question I couldn’t care less about and one that was quite interesting. Just remember all they are looking for is that you can converse in English.  My examiner said she could chat to me for hours 😁

It’s a pretty long day, though: I had to get up at 5am to get there in time. Fortunately, the whole thing finished in time for the 6 nations so I went and got p****d in a pub😂

I have a Macbook pro as my personal PC. Whilst it’s been pretty good, I wouldn’t buy another. When I bought it, Windows laptops were struggling to keep up with what Apple were producing, IMO. Nowadays, windows lappys are just as good and, personally speaking, I find the limitations of software availability for Macs too much of a faff (CAD and GIS software). This may not affect you as much but it’s a biggie for me.

As others have said, learn how to run windows right and it won’t be an issue. My Mac still requires regular updating as well.

A similarly darkly made series was Glitch.  Well, it started off dark, but bits of it were absolutely hilarious at the same time   Genius.

I thought it was awful. The acting was terrible.

I would go the other way and ask what singles were the best song on the album: I find singles are very rarely the best songs on the album.

Can I do a Friday EDL here? Yes? OK, cool.

E: Random stuff from the fridge.

D: Steamworks Black Angel IPA (a Vancouver local) 7.0%

L: Gov’t Mule live vid on You Tube.

What if the box is somehow both the exterior and interior of the cat?

Are you suggesting our skin is what defines our state of being and, by shedding our skin, we can free ourselves from our mortal confines and achieve a higher state of being?

I’ve finally decided to take some action and booked a physio appointment to try and solve my Achilles issues. I’m not sure they will solve it but it’s worth a go.

Stevious is correct: until you open the box, the cat is both dead and alive

I’ve got an LG UK6500 55 inch 4k which is really nice. Decent sound quality as well. I’d also recommend getting a Chromecast Ultra to expand your watching options.

So far, moving to Canada. I also want to finish off my geology degree but I haven’t worked out the financials and logistics of that yet.

It seems to suggest that many folk can’t visualise 3ft, 6ft and 9ft

Jeez. Lighten up. Its a useful infographic to demonstrate an important health and safety issue.

Anyone found any solutions to long-term achilles tendonitis? I do a lot of walking during the course of my average day and that can make it flare up, especially if I wear shoes with little cushioning. Running-wise I can run, but my tendons are always sore. It does seem to get a little better with use, so maybe that’s the answer, but it’s not very encouraging when I’m already limping when I get out of the bed in the morning.

You’ve obviously never used North American WCs: they are splashback city, being fairly shallow and with a much higher water line.

This reminds me of my last office: it was a small open plan office, of about 10 people. At the same time every day a guy who’s desk was the furthest away from the toilet would proudly stand up, roll up his newspaper and stomp through the office to the toilet.

He would spend so long in there we started taking bets on times: we called it the Defecation derby. with a little prize going to the person who guessed the right time. I think the record was around 40 minutes.

Once done, the guy would proudly exit the washroom and show some interesting news story from the paper to the nearest person available.

If all my traps are loaded I go up to the 11th floor, or the 12th, or the 13th (I’m on the 10th). It all adds up to my floor climbing stats on my Vivoactive: it’s a win-win 😁

The same referee has sanctioned several male players this year, including Andy Murray.

Does anyone else run in a baseball cap-style hat? I’ve just been for a run in the pouring rain and, although I actually like running in the rain, and don’t usually bother with a rain jacket, something to help keep the water running down my head and into my eyes would be good.

Are there caps that are worth recommending?

I was just going to say what PP said. Brick setts aren’t designed to be laid with mortar in the same way as conventional bricks. Plus, they’ll only have one finished side (the side you see) and will look odd when laid in other configurations.

I’ve got to say I agree with her that no male player would get a code violation for having a barney with the chair umpire regardless of what they said.

    Eh? History says otherwise.

This is what I’ve always hated about the William’s sisters: they are arrogant and self-obsessed, which manifests from their attitude to their stupid court outfits.

They’re not cheap but there’s some really good liquid applied roofing membranes out there now. Sika, Bauder, Icopal all do them.

They are easy to patch and renew in the future as well. Another coat renews the warranty, rather than having to replace the roof covering itself.

I should also say studying something in the evening is a good way to switch off from everything else as it really helps focus the mind. When I did my geology course I barely drank alcohol at home at all: Not because I consciously made an effort not to, but because my mind was occupied by something I was interested in.

I know it’s a bad reason but I find it helps me to relax and switch my brain off. It also helps with anxiety. Having said that, I have found other methods that also help:

    – Chamomile tea: I use the flavoured ones, such as vanilla/honey or spiced apple.

    – Running: I don’t do this enough at the moment but I find it helps with the above ailments.

    – Drinking a can of non-alcoholic drink (current fave is coconut water): Being in a can it’s a similar experience to having a beer but non-alcoholic.

Having said that, I still use alcohol, but the above allow me to choose when to use it rather than needing to use it.

I’ll give you American Gods: However Netflix also has the X-Files. The only thing I regularly watch on Prime is Parks and Rec.
