Get over there….Let her tyres down…slash tyres…make car unusable…anything to try to stop her…family is worth the effort.

Just looking for the correct plug and socket, cabling and distribution board, meter tails and meter to match this superfuse…hang on, I might need a new underground supply cable and ask the local supplier to fit a new transformer….or does this superfuse clean everything up…..are people that gullible?

“Fasted” rides of at least two hours, preferably longer, at a steady pace until almost bonk, always take emergency food for ensuring you do get home, drink electrolytes only, do eat well on completing, IE. No cakes, chocolate etc. Repeat 3-5 times weekly and strip the fat off….this worked for me to the point of friends thinking I was too thin, but I felt great on the bike….I did lose upper body muscle though as proteins were used when fat reserves were low…..no easy solution except use more calories than you take on board….I have put some weight back on now though, because it isn’t fun living like that forever.

You could have asked where your nice shiny “expensive” bike was, as you were sure it was there before the plumber went in 🙂

Get it into perspective perhaps…Mercks,Roche,Vino (former cheat that managed Nibali to TDF last year ) and others were all at it to survive, win, call it what you want….dark times and bad habits were rife in this sport,as well as others in that era…..main question is how clean is it now? No denying the levels that Armstrong went to with his solicitors (they can cause people pain without concience) and advisors, perhaps aiding this…maybe his mistake was winning 7 Tours and making it obvious, not to mention annoying the French….might have got away with one or two? Just a thought…It seems as though we give sportsmen who cheat and lie a harder time than politicians who do it for a living with much greater consequences and suffering.

Thanks for reply..I bought goods using their checkout process…I have spoken to them twice now and they say they will sort it out.
They issue a refund, it fails and we start again..Logged a dispute with Paypal after 3rd attempt, the dispute is now closed because the company have just issued a 4th refund..Let’s see what happens.

Thanks for reply….Ultrasound chap told me I had major tears on tendons, his exact words…returned to fracture clinic 4 weeks later and they asked if I would like it treating ( silly question )….now on waiting list for surgery as this is only way of repairing this injury according to the consultant I saw on Friday..Will visit GP to see if this can be prioritised perhaps…it has already been 4 months…I have some rotation, but not without pain.

I’ve just installed two sheds and used a base of hardcore/broken bricks/slabs etc and levelled with 10-20mm gravel…then used reclaimed Grade A railway sleepers running 90 degrees to floor bearers to raise sheds of ground….a lot easier than levelling slabs.

True story——Talking in pub to Scots mate, I live in an area where there is a Scots history…..He was talking about Bannockburn or Culloden (whichever one they won) and I said forget that, what about Gazza knocking the ball over Hendry’s head and sticking it in the net at Euro 20**……..”Och, you are talking history now” is what he said….Absolutely Brilliant………..Father In law is a Jock from Greenock,so get the ABE a lot, They just have to hate something…..If they are not fighting each other they look for the next best thing..their neighbours………..It can’t be true about the Scots hating England, otherwise there wouldn’t be thousands of them living here.

I am currently running a Remedy R8 2008 that came from Trek fitted with 160mm Lyriks…Not sure what the difference is to the newer frames if Trek don’t warranty them for 160mm now….May be worth contacting distributor for advice.

Not camped there as I live local, but have rode past lots of times and stopped in for lunch a few times…Nice relaxing place, nice cafe/bar…Not too much to do in local area, some fishing and Rutland Water for water sports..road riding is reasonable in that area, some tracks can be found..What are your plans?

Definately worth the trip…best for 11 days or more..Friendly people, orderly queues and massive space to play in…Have been to Banff,Lake Louise, Jasper and Kicking Horse….All have their own merits but some fantastic extreme play areas….Skidooing at Mammoth is also worth the day trip…..Avalanche receiver on and go play in the mountains by the old silver mine….Superb experience…jumps, steeps the lot…Now I wanna go back :-(((

Halogen’s failing can take certain dimmers out…I am an electrian of 30+ year a nd had this in my house, so no probs with wiring…..Buy decent dimmer or derating lamps to 25-35Watt may help but cheap dimmers…they go bang……..Hope the following helps

The need to de-rate a dimmer
When using Mains Voltage Halogen lamps such as GU9, GU10, GZ10 and Linear halogen lamps, dimmers should be de-rated by 25%.

This helps compensate for the additional load due to arcing at the end of the lamp life cycle. This extra load can damage the dimmer. Where possible it is better to use branded lamps such as those produced by GE, Osram, Philips and Sylvania. Generally these have an in-built thermal link and, should the lamp filament short out, the thermal fuse stops the inrush of current which can damage a dimmer. (LIF Technical Statement No.25). Many cheaper imported lamps do not have this thermal link.

Clink – how’s the ride? Any idea on frame weight?

Have only had time for a short ride as built it up yesterday and working all weekend so unable to give it a proper ride until Monday…feels good at the moment…did not weigh the frame but it doesn’t feel heavy…..no gears, carbon forks and bars etc makes it light enough for me.

I stumbled on weight loss by cycling steady for long periods and cut out alcohol, cakes and bread etc. I used to go gym 4-5 times a week and thought I was working hard, but never shifted a pound, but took up cycling and increased to 3-5 hour rides and lost 2 stone in 6 months….no science, but was knackered a lot of the time and ate reasonably…lost a lot of upper body muscle but feel better.
Apparently, your Glyogen stores are enough for approx. 1 hours excercise, so if you don’t go for longer, you never start eating fat reserves…go for 2 hours and more steady, with no fuel intake and your body will have no option but to start targeting fat reserves( and possibly muscle)keep it steady and long..good luck

We used to have an old combi on the British Gas service plan and over the 12 years we paid about £2000 in costs as it was about £15 a month then…we used toget a sercvice oncea year, about 30 mins and 2 thermocouple replaced..Value ???? anyway the last service was performed and two weeks later, th eboiler failed with thermocouple fault…the service engineer came and placed a default notice on it and capped it off as it was deemed unsafe……Two weeks earlier it had a service from them and was deemed safe……Odd but true..British Gas were not interested in my concerns regarding this……..Result I will NEVER trust British Gas again As “In my Opinon” they are a bunch of Shiesters……I am an engineer and have worked on British Steel Furnaces and Industrial ovens etc, so know little bit about Gas safety etc. before the Gas monkeys get all worked up………Get a combi and a local Gas Registered installer to fit it and service it and don’t bother with service contracts and it will pay for itself in a few years…..Don’t forget to spend the money you save on nice shiny bikes

In this economy climate you will find many backstabbing backside lickers at work … watch your back because they will screw you with a smile. Those maggots need to be stepped on and put in their place.

+1 on that comment……..I got a cycling mate a job 2 years ago after he was made redundant and turning into a drunk and he has just repaid me with lodging a grievance to HR against me with totally false allegations, just because there are department cuts coming….Couldn’t make it up…..Worked out ok though as stuck CV on net and picked up a great job….PS ethics chaps getting a note about his dodgy e-mails Ha Ha

Use the price match……….they price matched me a Crankset c/w BB against a crankset only…..worked for me…..No need to boycott just shop around…We actually have a good deal with out LBS and get really good discounts because we use them…..try to use them a bit more now and they can get most things in if needed.

We had several estimates and a local Hetas registered gas fitter told me that the Woodburner installation course he went on included several businesses who informed him that they tell everyone they need a flue liner as they make a lot of profit on them…We got our gas fire removed and cleaned the brickwork up and had it lime rendered…Had the woodburner fitted without a liner as it is a class 1 chimney. It was swept and checked for draw prior to this and all working ok.

I just bought a normal kiddie trailer, took out the seats and fitted a bit of ply to the base for support and threw a dog bed in…use a car harness to the top bar to stop the dogs jumping out…works fine.

set the bars up so that the forks are pre-loaded with your body weight which helps the forks work as they should and push into the turns…..I also find it helps to run tubeless at lower pressure which helps with grip..tyre selection helps as well…also stay alert and if it starts to go, pick up the front end….I am not a great rider, but have started saving the front end more…..Light forks seem to help as well…easier to pick it up when it starts to drift

I have fitted an 11-34 on the back of a road bike with Shimano 105 STi shifters and an XT rear mech when doing a sportive and it really depends on the size of the mech.

If you have a medium or long cage rear mech. then as long as you adjust the length of the chain to suit it should work ok but if you have a short one, I don’t think so.
