My 5 mile ride to the shops has about 3 terrain changes on the way so I just chain a few bikes to lampposts at various point so my bike/tyres matches the terrain perfectly,if it didn’t I think I would just break down and sit down and cry by the side of the road.

I don’t get this ‘I’ve bought the wrong bike’ thing,if its the right size surely you ride it and get to know it,you’ve been riding bikes for years right? what did you expect it to do? Theres seems tons of people on here who are more into buying stuff that the actual riding/adapting to a different bike.

You can go up the tarmac bike path to cymmer(on same side of river as afan centre) and then back down to turning up the wall,its a bit longer but tarmac so probably just a quick as the shorter way.

I’ve got a thorn xtc that I bought off ebay about 7 years ago,done 1000 miles in the last 6 weeks,had a great ride today on nation route 47 which took me from neath up to the wind turbines above glyncorrwg and then down the other side to afan argoed,i love that bike :-)
