Oh and I’d avoid a second hand DSLR unless you know the pervious owner and it’s history inside out they are very very pricey to get fixed and not much can be done with the smaller ones if it does.

I really feel that buying a DSLR sometimes makes people believe that just be having one it makes good pictures. I I found a camera that was small and high;y portable and has lenses from 16 to 600 mm with remote flash and a high motor drive but was in one small package, I’d have it in a second.
If yur going to do either
a, buy one with just a single 28-80mm lens.
    or
b, buy one and use it i programme mode al the time,
get a decent compact, canon G9 or 10.

DSLR’s lack shutter lag, and have a real time viewfinder. But if you never ask your brain to do the picture taking, or don’t make use of the variety or lenses (and 28-80 isn’t a variety it’s just a small choice)
28 or 200 is a variety, then buy something which is small compact light and less
‘look at me I’m a photographer!’
Either of the big brands Nikon or Canon build dirt cheap SLR cameras that I would have beaten you to get my hands on even 5 years ago, let alone 10 when they first made it into my office and kit bag.

just a thought, just take more pictures.

druidh; Still posting right up until yesterday. No response to emails hence either I hijack every post they take part in, especially the Classifieds section or as I’ve done launch a dispute with paypal. Appears they’re unaware of the situations importance to the success of the Classifieds section to the rest of us.

peteimpreza – Erm I don’t think I can prove anything dishonest has happened, just think it might have. And I am out of pocket without any offer to refund or even a partial refund of the items that never arrived, which might be the typical thing to do for something under 20 quid.

It’s not worthless, but the it’s inconvienient. besides insurance or recording wasn’t offered. shame as I only send stuff recorded for my own protection.

Normal paypal. I have started the dispute thingy, felt it was the only thing to do. In 20 days something else will happen. though it’s shaken my confidence in fellow STW’s Off to a shop of all places now.

Most odd. Wil try garmin.
    Thanks all.

Can’t recomend Star trek on Imax though, overwhelming and found myself trying to move away from the screen as there was too much gong on to be able to focus on it. It was a good film though and worth it, just smaller or further away next time please.

Avoid the cheque route if possible. Ask him to pay cash into your bank account at his local branch. This way the money doesn’t need to clear and it’s safe.’

don’t give anyone your bank details without knowing who they are.

Spinning classes sound much better and you have more than just your own will power to get it done. Which If I had any would be spent out riding for real.

we too have a t4 1.9. slow engine but bombproof as there are no electrics to go wrong. It was a minibus now it’s a camper. a bed sink running water triple hob fridge, heating to works. It won’t rust like a transit and despite the lack of power it drives just like a tall car. Very happy with ours. Perhaps there is a bit of snobbery about the VW van over say the vauxhall ones, but if your doing it yourself there are more people with ideas and experience on t25 and t4’s than any vauxhall commercial vehicle. And Autosleeper didn’t choose to build campers with the Bedford Rascall did they?

My Tom Tom tried to take the car down a bridle way yesterday, I didn’t follow it you’ll be glad to know, how some people do stuns me. Even a rational primary school teacher i know had to be rescued from a green lane by a tractor driving a ford KA. It does something to your mind – removes is by all accounts.

Mint cartoons were the visual soundtrack, if there is such a thing to my biking childhood. Loved them to bits and if ever there was a book, I’d buy it they take me right back to those days. Thanks Jo, huge thanks.

I second the statement of the 1.9 bending time. Very underpowered, though it’s mechanically very simple therefore has less to go wrong. We’ve fully converted ours to camper and with a bike rack takes 3 externally fully assembled. They rust from the arches, but generally I’ve heard of nothing wrong with them as a type. Get your belts changes on time, and do loads of oil changes. ours is on an x plate, with 64 on the clock. Gets to 75 then starts to eat fuel.
    Fun though.
    We love him.

MissGulliver, if you love your sister, and I’m certain you do, steer her away from TV production companies, they don’t help anyone but themselves. The rest of the population just watch.
    good luck.

They never sound stressed, do they? They must be so focused on the situation that they don’t panic. I imagine it takes thought of the situation and the result, eg death to panic, which of course takes time ,which they don’t have, so they don’t panic, They just remain as if they were filling out a dull form in an office somwhere. I’d be screaming and running towards the back of the plane with an Air hostess under each arm!

I had something like this on my 02 Honda Civic CDTI. Went to overtake a grey hair and the engine died, it did it several time since but only when going for full power, a turn off at the key and a minute or two cured it.
After a bit of Investigation it turned out to be a block fuel filter. The call for extra boost when the car hit the turbo’s set pressure meant that the fuel pump decided there was not enough fuel to provide the required mixture and shut the engine down. Since the new Filter she’s been perfect again, and I’ve not managed to get the engine to shut itself down since.
Try it, it was not that expensive.

I’m very proud to have spent an afternoon producing the images on pinkbike of Ben and Tom at Stainburn. It was a pleasure to spend time with people who we so totally focused on their biking and enjoyed it so obviously. I havd the chance to visit Stainburn with my bike rather than camera and it gave me such an appreciation of the talent I’d seen. Never got the chance to tell them how easy they made it all look.
Nice genuine guys, great fun to work with and such a total loss for all the those who knew them.
My thoughts are with those left behind.

Never understood why a film camera makes you learn how to be a better photographer. You become a better photographer if you USE the camera. The more you use it the better you become. If you have to wait till the films ended and then developed before you find out just how crap that picture you took was it will take you longer to learn how not to take crap pictures.
