I cancelled my print with some regret as I found the reviews endlessly positive and lacking objective criticism. Everything was great all the time which I found less than convincing. Also e-bikes.
Wish it wasn’t so but I’ll visit it again and reconsider.

I would have been very interested in an axle for a hub I couldn’t find a stock replacement for.
It would depend on the price however.

We bought a new radio a Sony large screen thing for our van and it has an input for a reversing camera. So I installed one which replaces a number plate light with a version featuring a camera. Between bridging into the reversing light circuit and running cables back on to the camera it was reasonably easy.

I had a fabia 1.4 tdi which behaved just like a failed injector. It wasn’t as it turned out the loom providing power to the injector was at fault. Much cheaper fix than injectors.

Thanks all. I’ve dropped milk cheese and butter (life is much sad) and started large doses of vit D at the suggestion of a friend who has it. It’s so individual I’m struggling to understand what’s ms and what’s just fear stress or age.
Eyesight is okay in each eye but somehow together they are less than the individual. Very odd.
Love how the neurologist says ‘seen’ in letters but I’m yet to physically meet anyone! Troubling and long term planning with jobs and having an exit plan agreed is a tricky conversation.
Am just soaking up the news and coming to terms with how short life Could be.
Thanks again everyone. Will need to do some carefull trigger investigation.

We had a house with an older panel. The earth was very important and disconnecting it caused a problem.
With everything turned off touching negative with an earth would trip everything. We sold the house but just presumed it was an old more sensitive system.

It’s an under the radar mountain biking mecca (2 stages of the Enduro world series were held there in September) and there’s tons of hiking and other stuff to do too. She’ll even arrange accommodation for you

MOre times than not it’s a rider using every e power that buzzes my tyre at sherwood. IS there something about the place that causes riders of those bikes being to check manners in at the door?

My iPad has a problem and had to reload. Sometimes to the point of putting it down and doing something useful.

I had a friend gift me his old hope xc and I still have the axle complete with bearing bonded to it. I got the out together but the axle died in the process. Never been able to get it off. Heat up the shell and aren’t you can expand it. Didn’t work for me but the axle and bearings were replaced a few years back but they’ve no stock now.

Ye it’s the master cylinder which is not returning. It’s behind the securing plate with the security torx screw. I’ve ordered the seal kit. But I’m nowhere close to fit it. Without a fix there will be no riding. If we find a mechanic I doubt they’ll have A the seals and B the time to drop everything to do it. I just wish I’d packed a tool kit!

Happy to subscribe digitally to avoid them but feel frustrated to have to log in each and every flipping time.
I suggested they improve this year or I’d cancel the sub.

This kind of outdoing each other certainly makes a mess. Hoping they can come back bigger because that would be clearly better.

I’d like one as a winter bike/gravel/cross bike but the lack of front mech puts me off. I like the shape and the colour.

I had my Stumpjumper powder coated and so far it’s been fine. The biggest job was removing all the bearings and putting them back in, but the finish is good and I did zero prep other than stripping it down. They did everything, the result was good and I didn’t cost must at all.

Outside anyone can take a picture and publish it so long as a it’s not defamatory about you as a person. b used to advertise or endorse any product. For example, having dinner in a restaurant does not grant them the right to use your image in an advert. As this happens now and then i’d like to know how that image was removed from a facebook page, and copied into a folder of ‘images we have rights to use’.

The quote wasn’t from a damp company but a surveyor (not received the actual copy but verbal guidance) Not sure how to proceed as i hope the seller will move on the price as the work to make good this wall is larger than we saw when first visited.
If they don’t or won’t move it could be goodbye house.

Possibly damaged DPC or disturbed due to moving a door and building a cupboard, Stud wall and brick wall is wet.
Sole plate in the stud wall will need replacing due to water. plaster board obviously damaged.
This could be not only change in price but a full walk away.

It appears that yes, panic was the right answer. Might be walking away depending on the details but from initial conversation with the specialist surveyor, it was worth paying for.

I have bought 2 sets of wheels from Chinese sellers via eBay. Both sets of spokes came loose an had to be tightened but after that they’re great. A third the cost of zipp and the like. Obviously I’ve died three times because of using them but other than that no complaints. So I’m considering a gravel/winter bike frame.

Your brother did your daughter a huge favor by having it before. You knew the signs, you knew what to look for and what to do. It bought her time and very prompt treatment. Much more prompt than most people get. She has every chance that she’ll be fine. Thank your brother.

Thanks, reassured and concerned in equal amounts right now. So condition normal.

The bathroom is quite a distance from the wall and all of the radiators are a distance from this patch. Can’t say about pipework as we can’t lift the carpets or floorboards. If I need to treat the damp we will but not for thousands. Give it a week we should know more. Or perhaps the same but with a bill for 200 quid.

Thanks for the advice. Yes we’d love a detailed look. We’ve seen the house twice and the survey brought it up. If it was an exterior wall I’d be less concerned. As it’s a concrete slab floor with this wall inside the house separated from the outside by a considerable distance it’s come as a unpleasant surprise. As with all things I wish I had detailed photographs. And it’s a simple fact that we can’t think of a reason to have moisture there and not elsewhere. I am bracing myself for a survey result that says
‘it’s damp. We don’t know why without further investigation. Can we have our money now.’
I’d rather have a gas leak than damp, at least you can smell facts with gas.

If the damp isn’t anything to worry about the second specialist surveyor will tell us more (hopefully) Don’t mind drilling and filling as all the rooms are getting decorated. If it’s going to cost us actual money then we need to go back and discuss the price. Not that we really want to get into this as we’d quite like to just get started.

I’d have though there might have been damp on the upper floors on ceilings if there was damp on the lower? Its is magical fairy piss and can do some amazing things. Damp and subsidence put you into the hands of the building industry’s worst

Nobody with an interest in getting some work will be visiting the house. Surveyors only please. Its a wall between the hall and lounge/dining room so its Unlikely to have guttering in the bedrooms. I suspect it is a supporting wall as it;s the only other wall downstairs aside from the external walls that’s not wooden. We don’t have evidence of damp on the external walls though, just this one in the middle which is more worrying. Don’t want to start arguing about the cost of fixing it as that’s simple so long as the cause isn’t a bad one.

for the cost of 12 quid i bought a blind puller from ebay for my Stumpjumper for the cost and the risk of damaging the frame it was worth it. They don’t melt away in the tool box.

That’s a really popular climb but well worth it with a suggestion. Dawn! We set off from our hotel at 6.30 and got to the top by 7.30. The return we in disturbed by coaches full of grumbling pensioners we had 1 vehicle pass us in the way back up it was perfect. Got to the cafe at the top to find piles of cyclists ready to head down. Ours was a great day out.
