I have been suffering from a bout of debilitating manflu but it must be near the end soon. My lung capacity has taken a hit, but missing my wheels and am hoping to make this ride.

Can’t make the first one of 2016, not the start I was looking for. Have a great although slow ride!

I’m in. My misses would also like to join us. She likes beer and pies. She likes to ride to, as long as there are no hills to climb.

Not going to make it tonight. Rode yesterday in the same area and it was good. The conditions were much better then I expected. The streams are flowing nicely especially near the horseshoe, and the stone steps were beyond my skill level. The cobbles are messy but we made it up alive. Too knackered tonight to do it again. The old legs need more rest.

Rode in Prestwich clough and towards the bottom of Philips Park last night and all I can say is ‘wow that is a lot of mud and water!’ This rain needs to quit or we are going to drown.

If your plan falls through, give me a shout. I travel to Sheffield 2 or 3 times a week from Prestwich.

The weather calm in Prestwich, so I might just go for a ride down the clough for an hour, maybe less.

I use the standard Garmin handlebar mount for VIRB from Wiggle, but I mount it upside down so it is below the handle bars. In the settings you can flip the camera so it later plays correctly on your PC. I rode a very bumpy track at Rivington and the image was unbelievably clear. Even clear on a cobbles ride. It is also seems very well held in the mount. If it does not come off on Rivi even after a low speed tumble, it should stay on anywhere.
