I’ve done the same as Charlie, told them I thought they were trying to back out of honouring the sale but they could send me a set of the obviously ok ones they are still selling.

Expecting a refund though anyway and, as others have said, I wasn’t really expecting them to arrive or actually work if they did arrive so it’s more that I want to cause them a little inconvenience first.

I was diagnosed about 12 years ago but am pretty sure I’ve had it since my late teens, I’ve been on the immunosuppressant Azathiroprine for about 6 years and I’d now say I am as close to ‘normal’ as I can be.

Before the Azathiroprine I was on and off steroids for several years culminating in a solid year on them (I refused surgery as I’d two under 5’s at the time  and didn’t think we could cope with me being laid up with surgery and the aftermath) they do work very well but the side effects are awful and have definitely changed me.

Depending on how extensive your colitis is I’d be discussing alternatives to steroids with your consultant if they think you might need to use them for a prolonged period.

It’s a nasty disease but can be managed well so don’t get too downhearted, I’m going on holiday tomorrow but feel free to PM me if you want to chat.

Good luck

I’ve had a non Pepsi one for about 12 years, it needed regulating when I first got it as it was gaining a couple of minutes a day but is within a few seconds a month now.

I fitted a ‘super oyster’ strap which is way better quality than the original  and it’s been worn almost everyday, I’ve cycled, been swimming, fixed bikes and cars, done diy and gardening wearing it and other than a couple of small scratches in the glass still looks great.

I’d happily buy another if I lost this one.

Is there actually a question in the OP ?

Lots of people offering advice, but there is no question that I can see, just a bloke telling other people what he likes to wear

I think it’s another ‘feature’ of the new forum, I’m pretty sure the OP is 19ninety but his post is the 4th one down. I’ve noticed it a few times on old threads that have either been brought back from the dead or google has offered as a search result to me.

You should be able to either use a 9/10 speed cassette directly on the freehub or use a 10 speed cassette with one cog and spacer removed depending on which wheels were fitted – I’ve built up two lunas (the girls version of the blast) for my daughters, the first had deep section wheels with a 7 speed freehub and needed the butchered 10 speed cassette, the other had joytech hubs with standard 9 speed hub and used a 7 speed cassette and spacer.

Ciliary blue did me gold mirror lenses for some fake Oakley frames a couple of years ago, can’t remember exactly how much but they weren’t stupidly expensive.

‘I’m also fully aware that this may well be a way of filling courses that might not be so popular, but apparently still less than 5% of UK students receive an unconditional offer.’

I’m not sure how true that statement is, there were a flurry of stories in the news about unconditional offers just before Christmas;

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/2017/12/14/universities-accused-making-mockery-a-levels-following-huge/

this article says 1 in 5 received an unconditional offer last year.

I’d echo comments above that choosing a course she is interested in and will give a path into a career she wants to do is most important.

I started a mech engineering degree in the early 90s mostly because it was what other people expected me to do, I had no real idea of what I wanted to do with my life and never completed the course, I think my student loan was about £2.5k when I left, I can’t imagine the effect of doing the same now but having £30-40k debt.

I’ve had three frames done by TotalBlastServices, he does a lot of Orange 5’s and everything gets masked up and cleaned/chased really well. Not massively expensive either.

Sainsbury’s have got some of theirs in the sale now. Popped in yesterday as we had forgotten to buy soft drinks for the kids 8O and picked up a 5l pan in grey for £25, the other colours weren’t reduced as much.
It’s a tiny bit thinner than our proper le creuset but at an eighth of the price John Lewis want for the same size I’m not complaining.

A 60 hour week at £25k p/a is very close to minimum wage, so depending on how much below that he is paid and how often he pushes 70hours he could easily be working for below minimum. How does he record his time at work?
I’d be asking head office hr (not the branch staff) what the companies expectations are for hours worked over contracted. Then I’d do everything I could to get another job.

Got it in my head that they only accept people with clean claims experiences.

I’ve been with them a few years now, the first year I was with them was only 2 years after I’d made an £8k claim from m&s following all my bikes being stolen.
They were half the price of the m&s renewal and have reduced the premium each year since them.

I’d guess the thermal compound under the heatsink has dried up, I had similar symptoms with a 9 year old HP i3 laptop recently. When I took the heatsink off the compound had hardened and crumbled.
Replaced with a squeeze of new artic silver and the fans now only spin up occasionally.

Looks like they are the online shop for Clark components, certainly their return address is the same as Clark’s office.
No connection to me but I live near Hinckley and noticed Clarks last time I went to Screwfix which is at the other end of the road.

Another vote for the Dyson one here, got a refurbished one from their factory eBay store a couple of years ago and have hardly used the upright since. Can’t quite do the whole house in one charge (medium sized 3 bed semi) but the chances of both of my girls rooms having a clear floor at the same time mean that’s not a massive problem.

These Black and Decker ones are about the best non sds drills I’ve found.
They’ve gone through everything I’ve tried them on like a hot knife in butter and the holes are actually the size they say so Rawl plugs fit without spinning.

I’ve got a mix of hue and osram lightify bulbs connected through a version 1 hue hub. They initially worked together very well but as I’ve expanded the system with dimmer switches and now alexa they’ve been less and less reliable.
All the non hue bulbs now show as unreachable in the app but I can still turn them on and off from both the app and the dimmer switches but the colour and whites adjust-ability has either stopped or become very erratic.
Alexa will control the hue bulbs but if I ask her to control a group of mixed lamps only the hue ones respond.
Most changes in behaviour coincide with firmware updates and it seems that updating the bulbs firmware could return full functionality but to do that I’ve got to manually reset each bulb, pair them with the lightify hub, update them, reset them and then pair them with the hue system again.
Now I can get GU10 ambiance bulbs from Hue I’m going to replace all the osram bulbs and run them as a second system which hopefully alexa will then be able to control alongside the Hue ones.

TL:DR
I wouldn’t bother if you value your sanity or marriage.

VW camper? Is there a bronze bush that should be replaced with the starter, my T3 has a very sluggish starter caused by a combination of the bush being worn and allowing the shaft to bind and the internal solenoid terminals being worn.
Some T4’s have a similar setup as well.

I’ve had one for a couple of years and so far has been used to demolish a 8m run of 1m high brick wall, including the (rather inadequate) concrete footings, break up 3 or 4m of concrete path in the garden, put 2 150mm holes through the house wall with a cheapy core drill and a mate borrowed it to lift an old tiled floor in his kitchen as well as various 10-20mm holes in brick/concrete for fixings.
It’s still going strong with no nasty noises from the gearbox, for £50 I am very impressed.

I’ve recently bought some aqua sphere ones from Amazon – my eyes are -5 and -4.5 and they are fantastic, you buy the goggles then individual lenses to match each eye. Worked out to about £32 for the set.

Reversing the campervan up the drive, sneezed and managed to simultaneously slip off the clutch and stamp on the accelerator – van flies backwards and stops itself with the tailgate of Mrs MikeG’s car.
Physical damage repaired with a £40 tailgate from the breakers, it will be brought up regularly for the rest of my life.

Lidl had some decent looking ones in today, Briggs and Stratton engine, metal deck and single lever height adjustable – £140
Looks as well made as the cheapy focus DIY one that went to the tip after 15 years of service and neglect earlier this year.
Didn’t have room in the car today but if they’ve any left tomorrow evening I’ll be getting one.

I’ve had a mini fabrikator for a couple of years and have just got an anet a8 as I was frustrated with only having a 80mm3 build volume.
The fabrikator was pretty perfect out of the box, other than adjusting the stepper voltages, and doesn’t show any z wobble even on ‘big’ prints.
The anet is only about 3 weeks old now and I’m still tweeking it, it’s not awful out of the box but you can tell it’s built to a price. I’ve needed to enlarge the holes the zaxis steppers screw through to align the z rods, one of the acrylic parts hadn’t had all the holes laser cut in it so I had to drill about 4 holes while building it and even with an auto level sensor and firmware upgrade the first layer is occasionally uneven causing the print to fail quite quickly.
If you’re not a confident tinkerer I think you’d have real problems getting it working to an acceptable level.

Our boiler occasionally does this as well, I’m led to believe it’s either the mixture being a bit off or a resonance building up through the soil stack when the condensate purges.
Our plumber didn’t seem massively concerned when I phoned him and said he’d sort it when he does a service in a couple of months.

Ours is more of a roar that builds up than a pressure, boiling, escaping steam kind of noise though

If it’s the wind deflectors you’re after have you tried Climair? T5&6 ones here

I had some dubflecta ones on my T3 after a pair of Climair ones were stolen, I wasn’t massively impressed with them so sold them on and bought Climairs again.

Do you know if the 7 speed cassette has a spacer so that I could change it to a 9 speed cassette without changing the hub?

Assuming you’re talking about the stock blast wheels there are two types I’ve come across; the earlier bikes with the white deep section rims have a 7spd cassette – you can take one cog and spacer out of a 10 spd cassette to make a 9spd that fits, using a 10spd mech and shifter works well.
The later bikes with black rims have joytech hubs that take a 10spd cassette as standard.

I wish I’d known that when I did up my eldest daughters bike as I ended up buying wheels from superstar for that one, the one I’ve just finished for my youngest has the better wheels.

I converted my Kaffenback to an ebike when I had knee surgery a couple of years ago, kit is now sat in the garage waiting for me to be bothered to sell it!
It’s only had about 3 charge cycles and covered around 100 miles, wheel takes a 10spd cassette and rim or disc brakes – email in profile if you’re interested in a cheap way to convert your gravel bike :)

I left the weeds and untidy garage to detract from the wrongness of the bike!!

ooh, a chance to post some pics of my daughters new bike :)

Carrera Luna, powdercoated by Total blast services, I’ve made the decals and raided the parts bin and crc for the rest – the forks are some cheap ebay Reba’s with new lowers courtesy of PlanetX for the grand sum of £15…

Luna frame is identical to the Blast – if you’ve the option of bikes avoid the ones with the white deep section rims, they’ve got a weird 7spd freehub, the ones with black rims have joytech hubs with a standard 8,9,10spd freehub.

You’d need to become a member first so factor that into your budget along with the £300 you’ll end up spending on other ‘while I’m here’ stuff!

You don’t need to be a member to order online – they charge a 5% surcharge if you’re not a member.
The ‘while I’m here’ stuff is a killer in their warehouses though :)

I’ve got the bigger 7 burner Nexgrill from costco (I linked to it on the other thread although it now has disappeared from their website) and it really is excellent, they might still have them in the warehouses.

I’ve recently bought one of these and am very impressed for the price – except for the drip tray which is mild steel everything else is decent stainless steel. I can’t see much difference to the £2k webers in the garden center.

I’m 5’9″ with a 30″ inside leg and my medium dune is the nicest fitting bike I’ve got, but I have got a slightly dodgy back and don’t really like a stretched out riding position.
That’s probably not massively helpful, but if you’re anywhere near Leicester you are welcome to try mine for size.

What everyone else has said and you can check for poor earth’s by connecting a jump lead from the -ve battery terminal to the starter (or bit of engine/gearbox if the starter is hidden) and see if it turns over faster.

I got one from amazon italy for around £40 a year or so ago, it does make a nice pizza in about 3 mins, much better than using the oven and not far behind our wood fired oven.
We use it loads in the winter or if we just want one or two pizzas and don’t want to wait an hour for the big oven to heat up properly.
Not sure I’d pay £100 for one though.

Only does one at a time? Nothing worse than a pizza night and having someone wait for a pizza.

If you get a rhythm up you can be preparing one while one is cooking, they only take about 3 mins so unless you’re feeding the 500 it’s not too bad – we can only really do one at a time in the wood fired oven as well.
