Find out who is your local authorized Valiant dealer, give them a ring and ask them to recommend someone.

Also the payment must be declared as a payment for goods which you will be charged for. You won’t have a leg to stand on if you receive the payment as a gift.
If you are unsure ask the buyer to pay by bank transfer.

I would think that a used 26″ is the way forward. There are some awesome bike out there that only a couple of years ago were the dogs.

In over 25 years as a kitchen fitter I have never heard of a builder fitting the granite themselves. It is a specialised job that requires accurate templating. The join in the centre of the hob is dire. and the other join isn’t much better its wider at the back than at the front. There is no way I would accept the two different profiles.
Granite work tops are expensive and supposed to be a thing of beauty.

If you accept that it will annoy you forever.

    This is very true.
The tops wont be flush where they join because; a) the units are not level. b) there is a difference in the thickness of the stone which suggests the pieces came from two different batches( not good practice). Even so good fitters would have used shims and packers to make them flush before jointing.

I have Oozy 295’s. I love them. They are around a year old now and look as good as new. They are anodized red and after a wash look great there isn’t even a scratch in the anodizing. The bead bite system works as I was inadvertently running my rear at around 15 psi for a bit with no problems. Can make it a hassle to get tyres off though.

Fully charged it will last all night. The trick is to ride on low power which is more than enough along trails that are not to fast or technical and then high power when you speed up or the going gets tough. I have had mine for more than a year and have never needed a back up battery. I have found the remote to be excellent.
I also have a Maxx D on the Bars which I use in much the same way. It makes for a superb riding experience as the bar light points where the bike does and the head light where I am looking. Also I switch the head light off for any sections of road I ride as it dazzles other road users.

Very nice van. I used to drive a ford van and went over to VW a while back. I wouldn’t go back.

First rule of MTB is ride within your limits.
To much emphasis is put on getting air and being rad. If you dial in your cornering, pumping and braking skills you will start to flow. To flow along a trail with good technique is very satisfying.
Don’t worry about your mates, they are enjoying themselves which is what you should be doing.

    Go see Jedi.

    An excellent bit of advice.

What makes that bike specific other than the word bike in the eBay title ?

The bushings match the sizes you will find in bike construction.
And not every one has a floor standing press handy.

It’s just a bolt and some thick washers. [/quote]
The “thick washers” are made of plastic and are matched exactly to the bearing size.
I personally have something more extensive and expensive but some thing like this is ideal for the home bike mechanic.

18mm chipboard flooring would be more suitable it is lighter and more rigid than MDF and is also available in MR. It is also tongue and groove so eliminates gaps.
If it is solely for storage I would fix directly to the existing timbers. Screws or nails.

When replacing apply a thin layer of copper grease to the thread and You won’t have this problem again.

    such as?

    for instance.
I would even suggest investing in a bearing puller and then you can service or change any bearing on any bike you own for the rest of your riding days. :-)

It can help to freeze them overnight too.

If you have a hot air gun , give whatever the bearing is going into a good heat (even better with alloy). That & a frozen bearing usually drops in.

Both really good tips. Use a hair dryer if you don’t own a heat gun.
If you are going to service your own FS bikes I can honestly say that a bearing press is one of the best buys you can make.
There are good bike specific ones out there for not a great deal of money.

As far as eBay are concerned if the tracking shows as “delivered” or “picked up by…” its sufficient. There is no requirement to show the actual details of who, where, etc.

The T&C’s state that any proof of postage must include the address, minimum requirements are post code and house number.

I have bought and sold on Ebay for years now. I have opened cases against other sellers and had cases opened against me. I am very familiar with their buyer and seller protection. The T&C’s state that any proof of postage must include the address, minimum requirements are post code and house number. Also it needs to be traceable with confirmed delivery. If these details were not provided then it was wrong to close the case and you can insist on it being re opened.

P.S. I haven’t done it up anywhere near as tight and it’s still done up tight now.

Chilled, just keep an eye on it, now you have adjusted it.My previous Maxx D kept working loose, so that occasionally I’d have a searchlight on the front of the bike

You really should tighten it to how it was or at least as tight as you can.

Honestly mate it just needs to be cracked open. I have had to do this on two Stradas to point them left a bit. It may even creak a bit. This bolt is tightened with a high torque as it takes the weight of the whole light and handle bars vibrate which in turn transfers through the clamp then through this bolt.

I might be wrong as I don’t have my light to hand but I thought it was a 4mm hex flat head on an m3 thread.

We are both wrong. It is 4mm hex and M5 thread.

Flat head hex’s being shallower than a cap head and having less torque capacity

It is Tapered head and has bundles of torque capacity.

Expected a bit more from a £400 light!

If it is not tightened up sufficiently It will vibrate loose and point in the wrong direction or worse separate from your bike.

Hence the sugestion of localised heat to melt the loctite

    There is no thread lock.

    It is M4 hex

    mikedabear

Just crack it open. If your hex key is good quality then it shouldn’t round off. There is no thread lock, just a high torque setting.

Yes they are compatible with each other. We have between us two Maxx D’s a Diablo and an Equinox. I never pay any attention to which charger I use.

IME Russians have a different outlook on risk, life and bravery. Their nuclear, aviation, military and space programs are littered with people who went beyond what normal westerners would consider doing.

I never understand the hatred of christmas, it is at least at the very basic level some time of work, and unless you absolutely love your job more than feetime what is there to hate?

I find it rather easy to ignore all the worst of the crass commercialism and just take what I want from it, a bit of time off and a chance to unwind in the middle of winter between the holidays I really love when the weather is better.

    Agreed.
    Merry Christmas

Orange seal is the best I have used. I also have Spank rims with bead bite. I do clean out my tyres and rims. I base it on the fact that if you knock up plaster in a bucket that hasn’t been cleaned it goes off much faster and so I assume the same will happen with latex. Also foe me wheels off is an opportunity for a deep clean. I don’t ever use glitter. I did read somewhere that it is not good practice.

In my opinion you have already done the correct thing by booking a day with Tony Doyle at UK Bike Skills. He is not known as Jedi for no reason. He keeps it really simple. I would tell him of your anxiety over drops and jumps and he will cure it. The only thing I can say about a day with the Jedi is go with an open mind and You will leave with a huge smile. And practice what he teaches you.

I haven’t ever lost GPS signal on my touring. It even picks up the signal indoors when I turn it on before a ride unlike my old Tom Tom.
