Yeah sounds like there are two issues. First is that he/she’s not aligned the tyres correctly. This has mean t they’ve had to use loads of weights to counterbalance this and for whatever reason has banged them on the outside. So basically full of wrong. I’d take it back and offer them the opportunity to rectify the problem.

    This.

The Dales are Beautiful and Richmond is a very nice historical market town right on the edge/gateway to Swale dale. It’s a bit far to walk into the dale but an easy ride or 5 minutes drive and a good base to see the rest of Yorkshire. Also check out Fountains Abbey.

Endura, Scott and many other companies are now doing what they call trail jackets or single track jackets. Look really nice too.
Saying that I do agree that waterproof and warm are achieved better by layering. It doesn’t take a couple of minutes to take a layer off and put it in a pack where as it is not nice to ride while over heating.
For what it is worth the Mrs wears a Merino base layer then a winter road bike jacket and a lightweight waterproof (Scott Vikos).

Been there mate. No one wants them, you’re better off bringing it back to the UK to sell. Either have someone sell it for you or use the buy any car companies.

    P.S
the gate valve is on the supply into the cylinder not out.

    mikedabear

    Hi mate
Don’t need to go any where near the street valve. No need to drain cylinder either as it works on gravity from the cold tank.
I’ll make it simple for you.

I’ve found a stopcock behind the hot water tank that shuts off the kitchen cold water tap, and another one in the loft that stops the supply to the cold water tank.

    1) Close these
    2) open all taps and drain the tank (will take ages)
    3) change taps
    4) open valves and fill tank, leave taps open until there is a flow to avoid air locks
    5) close taps and let tank fill.
    Job done

Buy one of these and turn it off in the street.

Shortest, most practical reply I’ve ever seen on STW!

    Unfortunately incorrect though.

    mikedabear

Buy one of these and turn it off in the street.

This wont stop the hot water or non mains supply. You have an indirect system witch means only the kitchen tap( drinking water) comes directly from the main. The rest of the house will be supplied from the cold water storage tank which you can bung rather than drain.
The gate valve in the airing cupboard is the way to stop the hot water but is fed from the same cold tank so no need for this if you are to drain the tank. If you do use the HW valve it does not stop it instantly you need to open the hot taps and let the water drain from the pipes remember to leave them open when turning the supply on to prevent air locks

Anything by Roald Dahl. My favourite being Danny Champion of the World. which could be seen as a boys book but there are so many great titles to choose from, such as The Twits, The Borrowers, the BFG and the above mentioned Fantastic Mr Fox. They are enchanting stories that She, her class mates and teacher will all love. The Language used to write them is simple and meant for young people to relate to but is not childish in any way. We had a teacher read us many Roald Dahl stories and the whole class not only enjoyed but really looked forward to hearing them.

Fitted plenty of Mira mixers in the last 20 years and never had a problem with any of them. All the cartridges etc are readily available in the rare case of failure.

but this is not that nice as it hot and there is very little air movement

Get a fan, it makes a huge difference. If it is a work gym ask if they have one or politely suggest they invest in one.

    Awesome day hey.

Will see what happens when I try and apply it across my riding, and what happens if I progress to bigger stuff in the future.

That is the trick. Apply it to your every day riding even at low speed and flat terrain. Hop up and down curbs and steps, carve your bike all over the place. Then the technique becomes habit and then the

progress to bigger stuff in the future.

    comes naturally. :D

. So I went back to doing it by feel.

    best way.
Close both valves, fully open the flow valve then open the return valve 1/4 turn at a time until the radiator warms evenly.

They don’t seem to get much of a mention here but I use Enduro bearings throughout my bike. I have found the BB to be most excellent.

I have a Gillette Pro Styler. I have no complaints about it. It is water proof so can wash it under a running tap and it runs on a single AA battery which I have had to change only once in two years.

2.5 t5’s are not belt or chain timed. They use a series of cogs therefore eliminating the need for belt or chain replacement.

problematic vehicles we’ve owned over the last 30 years. New bottom ends, a new turbo, multiple driveshaft problems(shearing), gearbox failures and endless and I mean endless electrical problems – central locking a common fault and continuous engine management issues.

And still bought a second one.

My assumption is that using millimetres means never using a decimal point

Yes. Imagine what consequences a decimal point in the wrong place could have.

    mikedabear

At work we don’t even use metres half the time as a lot of what we do is measured to the mm.

Vans are pretty much the same regardless of badge

Not so. Traffic, Vivaro and Primstar are as they come off the same production line. Also I recommended a 2.5tdi as vans that use 1.9 and 2.0 engine are basically using a car engine where as 2.5’s are usually dedicated van engine or at least developed for an SUV.

I had issues with the injectors

That’s to many issues . My T5 is 2005 and hasn’t even blown a bulb.

transporters are so overpriced for what they are.

The build quality is far superior to other vans. Just look around and you will notice how many of the cheaper vans have bits of the cheap plastic trim missing.

and they are not a cheap fix either.

This is not my experience either. That is a mechanics phrase to justify over charging for a repair. I actually found that my 04 Transit was the most expensive van to repair. That was also an unreliable heap of crap.

    compromise

    Why compromise.

I wouldn’t back out of the deal straight away. Buyers are just as unaware of the rules. let the buyer know you would prefer to send the bike to the registered PayPal Name and address for you own peace of mind. If they are genuine( which a lot of people are) they will understand and be obliging. If they say no one will be home to collect it let them know it will arrive by parcel force( about your only option with a parcel of that size) and they leave it at the local post office.

    79 quid for 20 minutes

Never met a boiler engineer who will only take 20 mins. And you will be paying for the time it takes said engineer to go and collect the part he needs from his authorized supplier.

Hep2O used to be grey but it isn’t any more

That shows how long ago I used Hep. I prefer JG as it easier to disassemble. I suppose you are going to tell me that’s changed now :(
Any way speed fit should have the JG logo on it.
As simons_nicolai-uk – Member has said the fittings should be compatible with each other.

Go for a low mileage 2.5 T5. The Traffics, Vivaro’s and Primstars are unreliable pieces of junk. They are really poorly made and the injectors are the least of their problems. I know so many tradesmen and all of them that have these have had major problems, two of which have had new engines after bits coming off within the block.
I took the plunge and bought a T5 after years of driving Transits. I wouldn’t go back. It was always the high price that put me off but look at the resale value.

On a new PayPal account you will have sending and receiving limits.
Your money will remain pending until you link a current account to the account. If you want your money earlier you have to confirm the delivery address and add a tracking number to the transaction. So if you send it to a different address you wont be able to do this and as I said earlier you won’t be covered by the seller protection.
i.e You send it to the butchers. The buyer claims it hasn’t arrived. Your tracking shows it has. PayPal will look at the case see it was sent to a different address to the one registered to that account. Case closed and you are out of pocket and they won’t budge. Always understand the T&C’s
