had a look at the route on fb link, Druidh – can u expand on ur areas of knowledge for more off road as like u i think it could be made more off road in places but not knowing the trails its hard to say if sections would be ridable? johnoliversbattery – that would be great if u could find anything….cheers guys

Met Steve today on the great glen way, so glad we did as I didn’t know u could do lejog off road..he was looking in a better state than us, we r nearing the end of our 500mile trip around the west coast of Scotland with b.o.b trailers been on the road for ten days pulling 25kg light weight is defo way forward unless u like ur little luxuries in life like us!! And are a sucker for punishment. Anyhow that’s what its all about getting out there and doing it…. nice one Steve

just brought one of these frames and the above is great help however iv a question…. im running an old square tappered xt chainset i know i need a 68mm bb however what lenght do i need?? there seem to be a few sizes ie. 110mm 113mm 122mm etc?? If anyone knows id be greatfull thanks – cant wait to get it built up!!

i got a spesh hardtail at mo wanted to use most of the kit on it as is all hope n shim. got 100mm fork on it already which would save some cash is 29 the way forward? prob wanna spend no more than £400 on frame

Wrecker: is that a nope to the plans to put in a wind farm, if so thats good news all round!!

Id recommend the red route to anyone ive heard from locals when i was last month that the forest was being ripped out to make way for a bloody wind farm at some point so if its correct the trails wont be there for ever. Get down to Cwm Rhaeadr to whilst there for a night ride its a great little trail two loops back to back is sweet at night!!

deanogoku: my mate lives near the forest so he knows it like the back of his hand..some great singletrack. Ill ride everything to be fair and anywhere i just love it. I live in Bromsgrove-the lickeys is also a great blast at night too. Spend alot of time in wales riding the back and beyond trails/ trails centres also.

ill be up for a night ride over clent, its been awhile since i did one there. Get intouch cant be sure to get one in this week tho but will in coming weeks, looing to do one over the forest also if ur interested soon..

both wicked trails Penmachno being the better one in my eyes, u can link up the two from Bets if u fancy it adding in another 5 or 6 miles probs. enjoy hope its dry for ya

A day of mountain biking in Wales and an evening in the sea body boarding finished off with barby on beach with my buddy…happy days. Would of only been better if there were some hot girls with us ;0)

Great day was had, will be seeing you on the next one for sure. Thanks to the chris and jules for putting it together and big shout to David for giving me alift to the pass. Decided to climb upto top of Mam Tor and do the decents back to edale very wet and in the cold cloud so glad i didnt have to ride back over Jacobs!!

Zinger, great website. Ive not really put a plan together yet just where id like to ride again im defo heading to moab as wanna do whole enchilada again as its awesome. Defo heading to Butte 401 is great trail, fruita yes there are a couple of rides there for sure. Some of the rides uve mentioned ive not heard of will look them up. Are you going out by yourself or as a group. Would be good to meet up on some rides. Im also heading out to California n nov you done any trails around san diago? mike

@pook – yeah ive tried campsites they are all full so im sleeping in the back of the estate car for 2 nights in a carpark somewhere – what the hell its bigger than my tent anyhow so i could be pretty tired by sunday

Theres a nice pub with good food at bridges (the horseshoe inn ), near ratlinghope which is just off the backside of mynd on the way to the stipperstones if u head over there its a great loop about 35miles id say round trip with some great downhills. Ive not yet wildcamped the mynd its one to do but there are lots of good spots up there where ul be left alone.

barlochan has an outdoor pool also (forgot to mention that) what more could u want after a hard ride in the summer??

It keeps ya fit without spend shit loads on gym membership and it get u places a car cant….life without a mtb would be crap-some say i should maybe get a good lady instead i think the two go hand in hand!! 😛

Munqe-chick, ul have a blast in spain if ur biking. Yeah Crested Butte is ace ill be heading over there also, and defo the whole enchilada in Moab its the best! Ur right its alot of driving but u can do so much riding in three weeks also.

Uni sucks-bikings loads better….

For Glentress/Inner i always stay at tweedside caravan park really friendly and although it looks drab on the estate its as quiet a place ul find honestly as for the showers must of fixed them there ace.

For mabie i stay at a campsite in beeswing on the main road (again quiet) you can cycle up to the trail at top near the darkside and ride down to the xc trail no probs.

For delbeatie i did try Kippford buty yeah expensive however you can join the trail just up the road in forest, but i now go to the otherside of the estuary and camp at Barlochan caravan park its great and pub in palnackie 5mins walk

As for kirroughtree i always treat myself and stay in the youth hostel in minnigaff its nice there is asite though in the village

hope this helps ul love the trails there they are amazing to ride. One reccomendation is when you get to the end of the red at glentress ul cross a bridge finish it off on the blue route there are some great jumps in there…
