Thanks for the update and its good to hear things are looking up.
Two weeks before our first child arrived we moved house into one we had been doing up which didnt even have a ground floor or kitchen! The little one didnt know a thing about it and cant remember the year of living in a building site!
As said, dont sweat too much on the finer details…

FWIW, I didnt think it was over priced.

    It’ll soon sell on ebay.

And at no point does it say in the ad what it is, let alone if it’s genuine!
The same seller has advertised several similar bikes over the last month or so.

Another Ragley Bigwig here. Running 140 fox 34. I really like it, it just feels ‘right’. Dont think I will be getting rid of it any time soon.

A quick google shows the Marley 2.0 is currently 15% off at Globalbike.co.uk with sale voucher making it £722.

Never used them, but it might save you a few quid.

Never riden a Marley but I am a fan of the Ragley hardtails. I have a Blue Pig and my current hardtail is a Bigwig 29er. Both steel and a bit more aggresive, but from the first ride they just felt ‘right’. Have they stopped doing the Piglet?

CRC were doing the Marley frame (last version) a couple of years ago really cheap so there are quite a few that come up on classifieds/ebay as full bikes at devent prices if you are looking for a bargain or to try one out. Probably doesnt say much for the residual value, but if you have killed a rockhopper you are obviously getting your money worth!

Good work – Stick at it!

I went from about a dozen cups of tea to none. First week I felt constantly knackered then the second week headaches and knackered. Then all was well… I sleep better than ever and palpitations are now almost none existant.

I tried decaf tea bags and decided they were all shite, however I have recently found Ringtons decaf tastes alright.

Id be asking for the deposit back and looking elsewhere.
I also be looking into buying the sanitary ware, tiles, etc. myself and paying someone to fit them, once they were fitted of course.

But then I dont trust anyone…

I have a 2014 t129 with 140mm fox 34s. Feels really good on the downs, but it does feel a tad too high and wandering on steep climbs. I think 130mm would be the sweet spot.

I have no experience of the costs of maintenance, but is it not related to income? Should he not have had it reviewed after losing his decent income? Apologies, but it sounds like an excuse for other financial issues. If you do take a loan, (which I wouldn’t) is there anything you could agree to take as capital to make the point that it isn’t free money? Eg. The car? Is there any other members of their family? If so, what are they doing?
Sorry to sound unsympathetic, but it is their own doing and they are grown adults with responsibility. Id still be fuming over the previous unpaid loan…

On the original thread I thought your ‘3/4 grand’ meant £750 and I was gobsmacked… not 3 to 4 grand! That’s insane!

As said, don’t feel guilty about it – the school should have felt guilty in asking.

I’m running a 2.25 Maxxis Minion DHR on a Hope enduro rim on the back of my 2014 works frame. Not masses of clearance, but no problems either.

Im guessing it may not be too accurate but according to ‘how many left.co.uk’ there are 261 Renault 4 variants registered in the UK.

More than I would have thought to be fair…

Mine was a mighty 1.2 nova trying to look like a SR… awesome. Still my favourite car, despite running on three cylinders at the faintest sign of rain!

Can you not post the dropper back to them? Or even better, ask if they will post you a replacement with a view to sending the old one back on receipt of the new?

Admittedly, I too would buy cheap from an online retailer however things like this are the chance you take for the saving. Guessing the local dealer of which you refer, I’m sure they would be helpful to get it sorted, but doubt very much that it would be a cost free solution.

As a comparison, if you bought a pair of shorts from CRC in their sale for tuppence and they were the wrong size, you wouldnt take them back to a local independent bike shop for a refund. Ok, stretching the point a bit, but bikes are just a commodity and maybe it is just cars which are the exception.

Bought it to replace an Asus that died and it’s been great for the money.

Buy the one just put up in classifieds!
(Not mine, and the ‘newness’ has definitely warn off, but an absolute bargain)

Very interesting idea! Couple of questions…

Is the ‘pedal’ action currently as shown in your photos as efficient as a traditional chain driven central pivoting crankset?

If I’ve understood this correctly – and probably not as I’m an idiot – if you were to lengthen the wheelbase at the chain stays making the ‘levers’ longer, yet maintained the rotational radius of the pedals, and the pivot point wasn’t moved further away from the hub (admittedly the connection of the levers would need to be closer to the centre of the hub) the laws of leverage would suggest less effort to achieve more power to the rear wheel?… almost like having silly long crank arms…

    Or am I missing something?

Another vote for AM41s. Shimano have given them a re-style recently so you may find some bargains.

Hmm… I’ve been looking at this lately too.
I have a T129 which is great, but can’t quite get the thought of a change out of my brain!
The smuggler and the following both get fantastic reviews but nether take a front mech, and I don’t fancy the Kona.
Which leads back to the outgoing model segment.
    Definitely a first world problem!

I keep checking back to see how this thread is going – and Im sure there are probably numerous others doing the same.

From your reply, it seems like you have a couple of positives to explore which gives a good focus. Keep us updated!

And, if it doesnt go quite to plan – try again, try something different, try not to be beaten! It will get better.

We love our Mamas and Papas Urbo. Very maneuverable and compact yet large shopping space underneath. Well built and all alloy frame. Folds down nice and small to go in the boot. Car seat, carry cot and buggy seat all clip in with the bracket system.

Worth a look, but advise looking around at as many as you can… just don’t go for something that looks whizzy and like a spaceship but is impractical in everyday use.
