It seems there were bonus seconds awarded at the top of the last climb and Vingegaard was first

not sure if we can say this here and if you are considering second hand options but there’s a large Mondraker F-Podium DC for sale on Pinkbike buysell section…not mine by the way.

Yes semaglutide has been used for diabetes for a few years. In fact another drug for the same class has also been available on NHS for weight loss (very strict criteria and supplied by hospitals only, not in primary care) semaglutide just seems more efficacious and has been approved now too for weight loss but I guess will have similar restrictions.

In any case it seems those in the clinical trials were on a strictly monitored diet too.

Interestingly we’ve had serious problems in the last 6 months or so with semaglutide availability for diabetic patients. We can’t start diabetes pt on this drug at the moment…because global production has shifted to the “weight loss” form which is much more lucrative for the manufacturer (it’s been used in the USA for this for a while).

I went in Easter for the first time and I really enjoyed it. My favourite descends were Stert/Somerton combe, Bin Combe and Weacombe.
I’d definitely go back if I could.

the locator form is completed on line. They phoned me every single day to confirm I was self-isolating in the address I provided on the locator form and that i had done my day 2 and 8 tests. They didn’t sent anyone to check I was actually at home but allegedly they do this sometimes.

Also the test before flying to UK does not need to be a PCR, an antigen test is valid too (at least it was coming from Spain a few weeks ago).

Thanks, I’ll inform my partner as she would like to get it earlier but hasn’t been offered this yet, I guess may depend on the local situation re number of cases etc

@ Fathomer, were you/your wife vaccinated by your GP or at mass vaccination centre? I thought the option to bring the 2nd dose forward was only available for over 50s (groups 1-9)

As others have said, initially telephone triage by gp then if needed face to face. Video consultation also available and photos can be sent too (for a rash for example) as some patients prefer not to come if possible.

It’s not about the state of the healthcare system iolo , it’s because of the pandemic.

Cerdagne/Cerdanya region? In the Pyrenees, between France and Spain and easy to get to from Girona. Plenty of walking, cycling etc and several villages/towns to choose

I guess you already know this site https://bikepacking.com , they have a few UK routes.

Sendero, vereda (verea in Andalusian) for singletrack.

“Trialera” is used for technical and usually steep sections.

I don’t know that area for riding (the coast is gorgeous though) but as usual Strava and Wikiloc should be helpful.

Road riding is great in the area between Oxford and Bicester (Islip, Heyfords, Somerton, Tackley…) Some bridleways canal paths but probably more suitable for gravel/cx than MTB.

Plenty of clubs for road rides in Oxford (Condors to name one)

For mtb there are some bits around Oxford (Boars Hill, Shotover) but while is still dry is worth driving south (20-30 minutes) to The Chilterns. Plenty to choose there.

Are you returning the car at the airport? Maybe you could return it a couple of days earlier and then stay in the city centre itself.

Commute from airport to city centre is pretty easy in the local train, about 15 minutes.

Just finished the route and it’s been great, with more gears would have been better though!

I followed the advice from escrs and bikebouy and it worked alright. Blue climb with fresh legs is fine, first steep red climb was fine but then I struggled with the rest of it. Some parts of the SDW were quite nice too and the views amazing.

    thanks all again

    Great info escrs!

Have you checked Mtbproject and Trailforks websites and apps? Definitely worth, they show plenty of trails around LV. Also, Saint George and Hurricane are close enough by USA standards(under 2 hours over the border in Utah) and again plenty of trails in both.

I haven’t been but from the website and your post seems a good option. In any case you will be very close to Ainsa (Zona Zero), one of the best MTB areas in Spain, more enduro orientated (they held a EWS event last year) but shouldn’t be too difficult to adapt some routes for XC riding.

It’s probably recognising only part of your default location now (the UK bit). Maybe try with a larger town close to where you live?

Can you use the search button? does it work? You may need to change your default location
(settings). They have changed something lately and it didn’t recognised mine and had a similar problem to yours. That blue rectangle could just be a location in the sea/ocean.

Corticosteroids do have effects on central nervous system. Kind of “steroid euphoria”, insomnia is common…For instance patients taking systemic courses of steroids for asthma/COPD exacerbation are advised to take them in the morning for this reason. Although it’s not like taking proper CNS stimulants as amphetamines, I suppose is one of the reasons why they are banned.

    I have a OMM Kamleika
Intended use is fell running so quite light and breathable, it’s been great and very versatile. A bit pricier than one from Decathlon though.

It looks better in the flesh.

Next week may be still too hot to ride and very busy for south Spain (Malaga area) I would say. Not the best time of the year IMO but still doable.
I would go north if I could although flights and shuttle may be harder to find?
If you are happy self guiding then you have plenty of options though, not only mainland Spain but also the islands.

Hi dragon, glad you like my hometown…

TBH I wouldn’t probably go on holiday there but I wouldn’t say Fuengirola is a sh*t hole, definitely not. It’s not what I look for when on holidays but it has decent beaches, shops, very good restaurants, good trails and friendly people 😉
Obviously if you stay in hotel drinking by the pool you won’t see any of this. Malaga is very close and has plenty to see and do, even Cordoba and Granada are doable day trips.

Hora if Sierra is full you can do what Mackem said, or even do your own thing if you are handy with a GPS, it’s not that difficult really and I could help you with GPX files. when are you going? There are other companies in the area I think (Switchbacks, Thebikeshuttle/RideMalaga…) You would obviously have to climb a lot more going on your own…

Where in Europe? If the OSMcycle map coverage is good you can use Bikehike also for Europe…or anywhere in the world really. I’ve recently used it for a trip in America and have used it before for routes in Spain too.

Pinnacle Ramin 4? just over budget but he could get the 3. Or the new Iroko if he prefers 27.5 when they reduce the price?

Also re stop and give way signs, they can be identified from the other side (from behind) which helps in crossroads situations to clarify priority.

dknwhy-I can’t find the “save map” feature in the menu.
I’m an android user. Can view the maps but when I go to menu I don’t have the option to save it.

Same problem for me. Get a map subscriber but can’t save maps from the new app.

You can download other riders routes as GPX files. Great when riding in a new area, apart from this, the free version is more than enough.

Strava is very popular nowadays, particularly in Catalonia, search for “corriol”(singletrack) and “trialera”(technical descent).
