Just back at work on phased return after 2 months off with work-related stress. On top of that, I’ve got a massive abscess, which I am sure is a direct result of stress.

On the bright side, sitting watching the fish in the pond is a rather good stress buster – I can sit for hours without thinking about work!

Some years ago I was doing about 45mph down a relatively steep hill, only to discover that the car had total brake failure. Fortunately it was 5:30 am so not very busy. Managed to crunch my way down through the gears and then stop by using the handbrake.

Then I sat and had a cigarette and waited for the shaking to stop. It took a while.
