The parents are from Sunderland, but in general they sound fairly RP.

I tend to go with the Planning-ahead-thus-avoiding-the-need-to-brake philosophy (although I appreciate that this doesn’t cover all eventualities).

I remember telling my Mother – tactfully – that after four circuits of the hospital car park looking for a “suitable” parking space (i.e. one that was about the size of a tennis court), perhaps it would be a good idea if I parked the car for her. Which I did. With one hand. While making a mental note that the next time I needed a lift to hospital to get a broken arm set in plaster, I’d ask my Dad to take me.

I borrowed my OH’s car a couple of years ago and slightly crashed it. Into my Mother’s car…..

I wouldn’t contemplate having a child unless I had the resources to raise one – without taking child benefit into consideration. IMO, if you are going to be relying on CB, you shouldn’t be having them.

The bathroom scales are (perhaps fortunately) out of order, but last doctor’s weigh in was around the 11 stone mark, which sucked.
