I dyed my hair last month and it went violet. To be fair though, I did use violet hair dye.

A couple of years ago I got my Dad a working model of a steam powered road roller from Mamod. He loved it!

Mrs Binners has just said “mountain bikers with baldy heads and nice bums” . And who’s going to argue with that?

Assuming that she was referring to you, rather than your baldy headed nice bottomed friend….. :D

I have just purchased a rear wheel drive car. So yes, it will.

Went to see a car at the weekend. The dealer said “if you want to look under the bonnet, I’ll just have to fetch some pliers to get it open.”

He didn’t seem to understand why we turned round and walked off.

Oh, and Bruders – you will start feeling good about things again. It will take time, but it will happen.

This all makes me cry and smile at the same time so much good will and kindness between virtual strangers who just happen to share a hobby, so much hope for us all.

    +1

I stand corrected. However, it was a whole shedload of fun! (Although the later model that he had, which was built under BMW ownership, was a total dog)

In fairness, at age 18 – 20, the number that came after the “V” didn’t mean much to me, however the phrase “******* fast and I’m not paying for the petrol” did. :D

Anxiety attacks are actually far more common when you feel tired and sh**. Just like you are when you are hungover… :D

Try not to worry about it

(yes – I do appreciate the paradox there…)

Sounds like you are suffering from an anxiety attack. They can be very nasty and sometimes do feel as though you have unwittingly taken hallucinogenic drugs. Of course, the more anxious you get, the more worried you get about the anxiety, and therefore you get more anxious….

I know that telling you to try to relax is a bit like telling you to try to drink the Pacific Ocean, so I won’t. I sometimes find that Scotch can be a short term fix.

I’m used to it now, so I just try to ignore them until they go away. Sometimes the OH helps by distracting me by demanding answers to obscure maths problems – which actually works surprisingly well.

Sorry, I realise that’s not a massive help, but it’s the best I’ve got.

I used to drive my father’s big Rover 800 V8 automatic (I was a spoilt child!) and it was fantastic, and went like the proverbial muck of a shovel. However I also once drove my friend’s 1L Fiesta auto, and honestly thought that I would die from old age before I got to the top of the hill I was driving up.

I used to have a pit-bull/staffy cross, and my god she could run!

You could do 25 miles, and she’d want to go round again.

(I, on the other hand, would want to have a nice lie down on the lovely comfy ground for a few hours….)

I have a full music studio in the attic, does that make up for the lack of posh coffee facilities?

I’ve driven a few – those with a decent power output are fine. A 1 litre Micra however, is not!

    Good point, well made!

Mr Mule Senior made our “family” trailer. It was completed n 1983, and has just reached the end of it’s life. You can’t buy ’em like that!

He used to tow it with a 1970s MGB. Got a few odd looks, especially with the concrete mixer and the ladders on it….

    Rover.

Cheap and unfashionable, but quite nice to drive.

Somebody near us had a rat infestation. However, since Basement Cat’s return to form, this problem has been solved for them.

NB – a neat row of dead rats in the kitchen is not the nicest thing to wake up to in the morning *looks for “vomit” smiley face*

Mr Mule Senior taught me to shoot when I was seven.

So far I have managed not to kill anybody, or commit any firearms offences.

Of course, if I had had a gun this morning then things may have turned out very differently for the girl with the stupidly loud ipod blaring out on the bus on my way to work…

NB “reasonably large” – must be able to accommodate 2 cats (in their carriers I mean, not roaming around….), 1large dog, and lots of luggage.
