I find it easier if I touch my toes together. Not sure why this helps but it seems to stabilise the pose much more.

This place is great

They have loads of self help vids and their stock list is searchable by model number so you can be sure you are getting the correct bit.

You even get a free biro with every order.

If you are after lightweight and will only be summer camping then just get a regular one and accept that you won’t be fully covered. It will probably cover your shoulders but not your head.

I am 196cm and have a Cumulus bag. Nice and light and I don’t care that it doesn’t fully cover me.

(I have an extra long 3 season Mountain Equipment bag for when warmth really matters)

I don’t have experience of PX bikes but on my Cannondale Synape (alloy frame) I’ve had to remove the crank in order to get access to the Bb shell to guide it through there.

Which part of the frame is causing you problems?

If you do have a sticky piston then it should be easy to free up. Simply remove the wheel and hold back the piston that freely moves. Then apply the brake lever. This will force the sticky piston to move.Push it back in and repeat.
This should free it up

I had a 1.5w hub paired with a B+M LUMOTEC IQ Cyo and the light output was very poor. It was insufficient to ride at speed on unlit lanes.

I swapped the hub to a 3w one and it has made a marked difference. The light output now matches the beam pattern images on the B+M website and I can comfortably ride on unlit lanes.

Not sure what wattage your light is looking for but if your hub is too low, then you won’t be getting the best from your light.

Have you had the cartridge upgrade?

Yes, it started happening after it went back for the recent recall/upgrade.

Sometimes it would extend to full length when unweighted, other times it would stay compressed and would need pulling apart to get back to full length.

I’m glad I’m not the only one!

I have exactly the same symptoms. I’ve just taken it back to my LBS and asked it to be looked at again.

At that time of year it will be cold which will mean that wild camping might not be too pleasant temperature info

Also, there will not be much daylight . In the region of 9 to 10 hours. This means 14 or 15 hours of darkness. That would be a lot of time to spend it a tent. It also means that you would need to make the most of every daylight hour for riding to get your 100 miles per day done at a comfortable pace.

It is not impossible, but it doesn’t sound like it would be a pleasant trip. As Gary_M suggests, you might want to consider a different time of year.

I once forgot to take my £50 out of the cash machine (I just took my card and forgot about the money as I was in a hurry). The next day I asked in the supermarket that the cash machine was outside of but they had not had anything handed in. I just wrote it off to my own stupidity and assumed that someone who came along behind me had found a nice treat.

8 years later, I got a letter from the bank saying they had done an audit of their cash machines and noticed I’d withdrawn £50 but it had been sucked back into the machine. They refunded it with interest – about £120 in total if I remember correctly.

One of these

Remove rear wheel, pop into into the sleeve inside the bag. Rotate bars, put bike into bag upside down. Zip up.

Great for storage or taking bikes on trains disguised as luggage:)

If I see correctly, you tighten up a bolt / some bolts that pull the front and back bits together. These sit on top of the alien head whilst the bit in the middle sits underneath it.

Does this mean that you need to have these tightened up as much as is needed to ensure adequate friction and thus hold it in place?

If so, might it not be worth considering a layer of grease to allow the front and back bits to slide over the curve of the alien head as the assembly is tightened?

Spray the bolt with WD40 or bolt release spray. Repeat a few times a day for several days.
After this it will have seeped in and the bolts will be easier to remove with less chance of rounding the head.

Also, use a fine pick to remove all debris from the head to the Allen key can go in as far as possible.

A mate has one that the switch has failed on.

The difference between them is I ride with mudguards. He often uses his on a bike without.

I think that the seal that is used for charging needs to be carefully put back in place to keep it watertight.

I’d be interested to hear any real world comparisons of a generic 1000 lumen light against a B+M 80 lux light.

I understand that they are different measures of lights but how do they compare?

I do a lot of riding in the dark on unlit roads so value having a good view of the road ahead but don’t like feeling that I am dazzling cars when they pass. Has anyone previously used a 1000 lumen set up and gone to a B+M 80 lux road-specific system? How do they compare?
