It’s not too far between feed and water stations (about 1 – 2 hours) so ive used bottles the past two years. A couple of the stations are just water though, so you might want to bring some powder along wiv.

Aren’t they all pretty much finished for the year? Except SITS which is probably sold out. Relentless 24 up in Fort William is a cracking race, not til October so plenty of time to try get a lift up.

It seems a really odd sport to me, not sure if it would be any better on a bike. Wouldn’t you need a different kind of setup to a normal trail bike to do it properly? Each to their own.

Soon to be resprayed into a more ‘iconic’ Klein colour scheme:

Thats a sick colour, why respray it.

Nice looking spin. Would be cool to see a map route of it.

Fox forks. Meets your criteria apart from the expensive bit.

have you tried riding without gloves?

I haven’t. I know some downhillers do, can’t imagine it would be comfortable for long distances though.

    Ergon grips.

Gloves, I’m still trying to find ones i’m very happy with. Dakine and spesh body geometry are the best Ive tried.

I ride speedplays at the moment. I think the pedal you chose depends on your riding and if you like a lot of float or have knee problems. I got the speedplays to help my knee and i haven’t had any knee pain since i got them.
The only other road pedals Ive used are Times. Really nice big platform and a bit of float. Wanted more float though so changed to speedplays, after a few years.

Ive often waited more. I think the delivery service has gone a bit downhill over the years, although when i questioned them about it they said it wasn’t in their hands once it left the shop, (postal service’s fault).

I usually upgrade to faster posting now, usually arrives in a day then.

They look like they’re not propper roadies. They’re riding fixies, roadie wannabies. Or courier wannabies, even worse.

Nobby nics are nice, along with most of the Schwalbe tyres. It really depends if you want them just for racing or for general riding as well. Something like a Maxxis Advantage or Ignitor is a nice all round tyre.

I have the Meta 4, from 08 i think. I have had no problems with it and love it! Done about every endurance race in the UK including a few 24 solo’s, and also feels perfect for general trail riding.

Mine has 100mm front and rear with the reba’s up front.

Yeah marked well, but there’s a dodgy left hand turn while going down a fast fire-road which we nearly missed.

The powder inside is ground up fishbones to stop the tube sticking to itself, innit.

    Hmm interesting.

I think the Climach-X trail would be a close second to it, i think those two trails are in a league of their own out of the Welsh trails (manmade). Yeah probably good that its under-rated, better not tell too many people about it  .

Seriously. Why does this have to come up so often.

A few things to say about it. But you are really that needy that you need people to say hi back to you?

I do wave or say hi to most bikers, doesn’t matter if im on the road or mtb. Sometimes when i’m on the road bike, i’m just too tired from my spin to notice or care about other riders, i just want to get home and eat. Other times i might be trying to stick in a high effort zone and concentrating too much to care about others as well.

Lived with a friend for 3wks up in Saskatoon, not impressed and would not make me want to move to Canada

What part of Canada is that in? What did you not like about it? :?

    enjoy

had 2 weeks in Canada summer 09. 6 nights Canmore, 2 nights Calgary, 1 night Kamloops en route to Vancouver (3 nights there), then 1 night in Lake Louise (not IN the lake!) en route back to Calgary.

Best holiday I’ve ever had. I’d live there if I could.

One word of warning though: winter. It lasts 8 months in Alberta. First snow October, still a risk of it in May…

Hey wow thanks. What do you think of the biking in Canmore? Were you impressed by it? You went to Vancouver and didn’t go to Whistler 8O aren’t they only about 2 hours away from each other…

I’m aware of the long winters! It has its pro’s and con’s i suppose. And i actually like cross country skiing, which i can do to break the boredom from the turbo trainer. And back country skiing i hope!! :D
