I used to have a cheap £30 quid pair of lights. They were fine until they well apart going “uphill” on a rough climb! I think durability is a large thing you pay for when getting good lights.

The graveyard of ambition as they say! I loved my few years in uni there, wouldn’t want to live there though. Too many chavs and yobs.

Afan isn’t far away to cycle to though, we went there a lot.

SealSkinz are good. They do feel a bit like heavy sponges once they DO eventually get water in them though (by seeping in the top) .

Whites Level definately. The Wall seems a bit old and dated to me. Been a while since I’ve done WL though, a few years like.

A cheap one from some place like tesco will be fine if you’re just splashing about. A close fit is the most important thing. Also thickness.. look for at least 3mm.

Haven’t ridden either, I’d prefer to own a rush though.

All the awkwardness in the office is whats funny about it really. I didn’t like it when i first watched it but loved it after a while. It grows on you i suppose.

Wow that was a good race. Lots of attacking and break aways, SOOOO much better than the female elite race, which was only really a three lap race with everyone hanging about. :|

Why don’t the women attack more??????

    YES!!!!

They’re all things I’d love to do, can’t believe he bottled the bungie jump.. and that land jump he did was just pathetic. I’ve dropped from higher on my bike.

It is funny but also frustrating that he’s SUCH a closed minded tool bag.

Whats the point in trying to keep part of your legs dry, just wear lycra or cheap baggies and get wet. Keeping your core dry is the most important.

Just do whatever works best for you, theres no one way of doing it. Unless this will be your longest ride?

But the five and the alpine have both reinforced my views that oranges are shite.

I guess some people just don’t like single pivot bikes then…..

It’s called Kinesio tape. Comes in a few different colours and strengths. You need to cut in up to shape it around a shoulder, knee etc.

    Link for it here.

Aim for a 24 solo if you want to step it up a bit after Kielder. Make sure you chose the event wisely though, some of the courses are mind numbingly boring.

Haven’t been able to try many bikes as I’m one of the only people I know that uses Time pedals, but the Trek Remedy wasn’t very nice I thought.

I have a Coleman Bambusa and love it! Never been really cold in it. It’s supposed to handle -10 degrees c, only been in about 5c with it though.

There are less obvious factors as well. There is evidence to suggest not only that (for whatever reason, and the cause/effect may go either way) unhelmeted riders may be less likely to have an accident, but – perhaps more significantly – that motorists are more likely to give unhelmeted riders more room, thus reducing the likelihood of an accident

I did read a study about that a while back. Seems slightly bizare in a way think, the car driver mindset of “he’s wearing lycra and helmet so must be a good cyclist, he won’t mind if i brush past him and nearly knock him off then”..

Didn’t know this topic had been done mucgh before which it sounds like it has going by the responses! It just got to me when i saw it.. the child doesn’t have a choice.

Can anyone remember who the guy was with the bars that had dropped right down and were nearly touching the front wheel?
