Does it do it in a different browser?

As in Firefox? My Firefox has loads of random tool bars that I don’t know where they came from, so my screen is only about half the size with Firefox ha.

The lenses are buggered, I only bought them for the frames so I can put new lenses in. Just hope other new lenses fit properly, which they probably wont if there fake!

A turbo trainer is best I think. Ive used a few exercise bikes at the gym and they feel so different to real bikes, I hate them all. Spinning bikes are probably the nicest feeling indoor bikes Ive ridden.

+1 for what ChrisL said. Brechfa down south is pretty sweet to.

The TT is my favourite tyre for dry fast race courses. Never used it on a pump track though.

Personally I think it depends on where you are at with your current fitness. If your building up and want to start racing and doing intervals a month or 2 of steady endurance riding can give you a good base so that you can cope with the harder workouts to follow.

    Yep, training for training.

What does the LSD in this case stand for anyway? Long slow —-.

For the winter I don’t think it matters too much, just don’t tire/burn yourself out (intervals would) build up a good base fitness (LSD, most “reasonable” riding) and enjoy it – if you are training properly you’ll find the high intensity stuff very hard and miss fun rides in the spring summer.

If your training properly, as in doing an amount of volume at a pace that suits your fitness, then you shouldn’t find all the high intensity intervals vey hard. Someetimes they can be hard yeah, but If thats the case then its probably a case of over training.
If training for a big race in May, you really need to be training over the winter. Like lots of people I train for races, only rarely do a fun ride, if its not training its a waste of time. Well thats what i think most of the time. I like the odd “fun” ride though.

I’d agree thats a fairly old skool attitude towards training. I do short training sessions with high intensity intervals all year round.

I love riding in the mud!!!!! :D Nothing better than having both wheels drifting through the mud sideways at the same rate so its controllable. I prefer a good muddy downhill to a dry one a lot of the time.. it makes it much more exciting.
Cleaning everything off can be a bit of a pain but that’s it.

I’d say it’s fine. Ive never had any undesired side effects apart from not being able to walk for a few days. :-)

I always thought there was some good lines for biking down around Mount Pleasant too. I liked the look of that course though.

I love my Exposure lights for racing, but before that when I wasn’t doing much racing I had some Light an Motion ARCS, which are really nice reliable bright lights. I still have them btw, trying to sell them!

I wouldn’t say any high quality lights are really good value, you get what you pay for though.

I’ve heard the geometry on them is a bit messed up, never tried one though.

It’s because your using Shimano and not Sram :P .

Seriously I’m not too sure, hard to say without seeing it. When my cassette and chain gets really worn I often change the high low screws so at least a few gears work ok. Then have to change them again with a new cassette and chain.

I bought a Rampage and only used it a couple of times, can’t remember what size it was, looked like about a 2.35″ . It clogged up badly with mud from what I remember. I’d go for the Advantage for all round.

Lets start with the published number of animal deaths and injuries for 2010:

    Number of animals : 7910
    Number killed : 65
    Number injured : 27

    Total Number : 92

Now let’s see what caused these death and injuries so we can address the real problem:

    Cars and Drivers : 92
    Bikes and Cyclists : 0
    Acorns : 30*

*not included in data about road deaths.

Why are animal deaths getting involved? I don’t think they much to do with the trail, especially since most of them were due to cars.

    What a kill joy..

I think this bit is especially pathetic..

“Organised races, time trials and ‘iron man’ competitions result in huge numbers of cyclists travelling silently at speed on narrow country lanes – at great risk to residents and livestock.”

I think that the first thing you need to do is check a map.

Yeah thats the problem with Canada.. everywhere looks close on a map and I forget how big it is! I haven’t actually cheched where it is, just somewhere north up there I know.

We’re gonna be either running or XC skiing, can’t really afford to do the bike with all the gear you need like specialist sleeping bags etc. So just the 26 miles this year.

I didn’t know about that 24 hour, thanks! I think a 24 hour race in total daylight would be much mentally tougher than having the darkness to break help break it up into chunks.

Well not exactly a few hours, probably more than ten hours drive away. Still closer to me than getting the bus to Banff which I was considering doing.. which would have been about 20 hours!

I’m in Whistler, I can get a lift up to it though :-) .

I don’t know many LBS that do alot for the sport, apart from sponsoring races. And supporting younger riders?? Don’t know any shops that do that..

I think there will always be market for bike servicing and repairs.
