Cheers. Anyone else know much about them? Just not sure if they would have the same durability as say an XTR.

As long as is better than the Eastnor course then I don’t really care!

Can’t see the possibility of it being worse though  .

Bottle of turtle wax seems to be all I need

Ah yes turtle wax! I had forgotten about that! :-). Ive only ever used it for a car though. So its fine to use on bike frames too?

Hmm not really sure what you’re asking. I’d recommend Bontrager 24/12 to get back into it, 24 hours of exposure I would say is best but you’ll have less time ti train.

I don’t like xc races much but love 24 hours, they are both painful but just a different kind of pain.

I’m guessing any shoes will be compatible with any pedals?

Yes, as far as I’m aware, as long you stick road pedals and road shoes. Some road cleats wont fit on mtb shoes.

For pedals I’d recommend Speedplay or Time, the right shoes are what ever ones fit well and are comfortable!!

    bloody heavy though

Don’t think you can be too picky with weight when it comes to contact points  . There is a new lighter weight version of the Ergons out, but I have no reason to change mine yet.

Yes if you’re a racer, no for faffing around.

I recommend the Ergon bar-end and grips combo.

The way some things are changed/updated every few years when you need to change a part, and then said part isn’t compatible with the parts you already have :x .

I have a two long pieces of red ribbon I tie on each binding and then shove the rest down my ski boots. I’ve never had a ski come off and get buried out of visibility, but when it does happen! :-)

Might be old news for a lot of people, but four people killed in an avalanche near Ben Nevis. Thoughts go out to friends and family.

I tested a new Rift Zone back in 06 and loved it! It was the top bike on my wishlist for a while until I realized I wanted a bigger bike.

Good effort! It looks pretty good value in terms of distance to vert gain ratio, (for the UK anyway). Might have to give it a lash some time in the next few months.

Ok i’m about to purchase some piste skis!!! :D

The main candidates are the Rossi Pursuit Elite 18, the Head i-titan, or the Nordica Doberman Spitfire XBI CT TI.

Never tried the Rossis, only the narrower little brother version of those. I tried the i-magnum and loved them, and really liked the Nordicas. Anyone got any input? Thanks!

There’s just a blatant pattern of tour winners cheating, which doesn’t really need to be stated as its pretty obvious one would think. I was a big Armstrong fan and was probably one of the last to actually come around to the idea of doping, It just doesn’t really seem to make sense that someone could win the tour without some performance enhancement when half of them seem to be on something, if not all.

I say you’re just a **** ****. I cannot be doing with people like that. It justifies your own bone idleness because you can’t imagine applying yourself to do anything in your life.

It’s easy for you to sit under a pseudonym on STW and write that sort of shit, rather than get off your own arse in your own life and apply yourself and work hard at something and achieve something. And that’s ultimately what counts. ****.

WOAH WOAH STEADY ON THERE!!!!!

I’m pretty sure you don’t know me, you have no idea what I have or haven’t achieved, so you have no right to blurt out those absurdities.

Sounds like you’re the naive type to me tbh.

What do people think of the Gore Bike wear ones? I really like the fit of most GBW clothing. Castelli stuff fits me really well too.

Just because they’re photochromic doesn’t mean they go clear,

They go clear when I bring them back indoors and that’s about it.

I’d say that’s 2006-ish, going by the fork and graphics. I have a 2007 Coiler.

I’ve never ridden a Lapierre but you do see a few of them about.

About 500 sounds about right to me.

I’m gonna ad my Endura Gilet I got a few years ago. Just too tight a fit and the wind seems to cut through it easily.

I was surprised to see Howies stuff on this list. Ive never owned any of their stuff but they seem good and look good.

    Sealskin socks.

A lot of people mentioning Sealskin socks here, I really like mine! They work perfectly for wet rides, but eventually the water does seep in through the top after a few hours. My feet still seem to stay warm even when they get wet though!

My worst would probably be a set of BBB Aqua shield gloves that turned into huge water-logged sponges on my first really wet ride with them.
