So looks like yellow are the best for flat feet?

Thanks. I’ll look at them all but looks like Superfeet are a winner so far. What colours should I be looking at for flat feet? Are they cycling specific?

I also thought 150 was too much at first, but they have put my leg and knee into correct alignment and sorted out the foot pain I usee to get, resulting in more efficient power transfer and less stress on my calves. Can’t really put a price on that! Although could be argued that it’s only a marginal gain.

Anyway, I’m not spending that much on my winter shoes, bit still want reasonably priced ones for flat feet.

Thanks Mr Blobby I’ll check out that link. My feet didn’t agree with a pair of Spesh shoes I had years ago… funny lump in them.

    £30? really?

Is that expensive to you?? I paid 150 quid on insoles for my summer road shoes (Leather Foot Levelers) from my physio, so 30 is on the cheap side I’d think! Might seem steep but its made a huge difference to comfort and feel. Don’t want anything too nasty.

Doesn’t Aldi stuff fall apart anyway. 🙄

Is a time trail like a nature trail, but more focused on history? My kids would be into that sort of thing I’m sure…

    😆 😆 😆

I want to ride on a time trail!!!

To be fair CRC service isn’t much better. I feel someone should mention the benefits of supporting a local bike shop at this point 😉 😉 .

Why don’t you try and carry on getting things sorted directly with them instead of posting a rant on here. Seems a bit pointless really… 🙄

Scholar that cnc’d one looks sweet! Any complaints? Do you happen to have a pic? Cheers.

Well I’ll be using it for mountain biking if that’s any help. Anyone else?

Cheers chaps. I’ll rip this crappy film one off for now and look into one of the glass ones. It never felt great to be honest, was kinda sold it by the salesman in the shop on getting the phone.

Thought some screens would be treated for scratch resistance? Like good watches? Surely a screen on a cheap phone would scratch more easily.

I haven’t ridden at either yet.

I saw that in the results. At least 18 mins down on lap 1 anyway.

Yeah best of luck all. Wish I was riding again this year. Magical course last year in Fort Bill.

Oh, sorry, they brakes themselves rather than discs?

Yep. Got some pimpin red rotors from XCracer only 2 months ago! 🙂 .. Quarx or something like that.

They are these ones (not my exact ones, just found on google)

Yeah, sometimes the pads don’t wear evenly (im guilty of not changing them in time too). More concerned with the life span of the calipers themselves though.

If you like riding with others, get a winter bike with full mudguards and mud flaps… Otherwise, you’ll notice the invitations drying up.

    I

n reality it probably depends on how much winter road riding you do, how often you clean the bike after a ride etc.

I wash it after each ride if that helps! As much of a faff as it seems to be at times.

I agree. The ‘black’ section on Whites Level at Afan is more red imo… or pink even 😛 .
I agree it probably makes people think they are better riders than they are. Watering down what an expert rider is.

Cheers boys. I bought the the fleuro yellow road ones, 180 quid. They say they’re rated +5 to -25 degrees 😆 . I should be alright considering I rarely ride below about 2 degrees anyway. Although I would ride in colder weather if it got colder than that here of course 😉 .

Hmm. Tape could work? Would be faf though.

They stay dry enough for 2 hours of wet roads though right? Or not quite?

    michaelmcc

Cheers. I’ll probably go for the ‘cheaper’ road ones.

Yeah it is a different kind of fun! A lot different to mtb but a nice feeling.

why do you need more than 130mm for Wales? ——-
Wales is that country with all the mountains and DH tracks to the west of England, yeah?

You obviously know more than the test riders.

Well excuuuuusse me Sir 🙄 .

If the 29er test DH bikes were a few years old, then I’m sure newer more refined models (if they were to make another one) would feel a lot better.

Not saying I think DH bikes should be 29er, just curious to see what others think. They might have advantages on high speed courses, maybe not so much lower speed tech courses. But most riders are going at a high speed regardless of the track these days.

They don’t do anythign to smooth out a 20 foot drop though

Aren’t gaps and table tops a lot more common than drops in wc DH?

    michaelmcc

I’m guessing it’s partly due to staff / volunteers.

Yeah I’m a believer that with 29 inch wheels, you don’t need to have as much travel as 26 or 27.5 as the size of the wheels take away some of the bumps etc. So can’t see the switch from 200mm to 180mm would be a huge issue. 29er geometry has certainly improved in the last 4 or 5 years so I think the issue of feeling like you’re turning a barge could be easily rectified.
