Does the SRAM use brake fluid or mineral oil like Shimano? You can’t use mineral oil with the Hope calipers designed for brake fluid.

Having had a days tuition at BPW, and then a day with Tony (Jedi) I can heartily recommend him. The same cannot be said for BPW team who were all trained to teach by the same person whose company is based in Surrey.

@fooman – I’m testing these this season to see how they do:

    Oh the ironing.

Still very happy with my MK3 running a 140mm Rev. Took it to BPW on Friday as I’m waiting the delivery of a Rocket Max.

It’s a bloody brilliant bike, spent a great day harassing my mates on their full sussers.

    It won’t be gong anywhere

……. Vettel is probably the only other top guy badly wanting out of his current seat and I don’t see that’s a serious prospect

Vettel is a non starter, he’d never sign a contract that left him equal with his team mate.

    Thanks both.

That’s what I thought. But they are saying min 50meg on fibre where the best they can get on full copper is about 4meg. I was surprised that it would jump that high?

More seriously, there are two significant facts that are important here, and often missed:

Now now Max. Stop all this talking sense from an educated and fact based position please.

Yes it is about Southern saving money by losing the conductors. No it is not a safety issue. There are many many services in and out of the UK with driver only trains. Not to mention the driverless ones…..

I have the pleasure of being on Southern trains (Ewell East to London Bridge).

    Small world 7.58?

On a day to day basis none, tea, squash the odd beer/wine G&T or two. Occasionally, if very thirsty I’ll grab a glass of tap water. The only time I purposely drink water is from my camelback, just because I can’t be bothered to be cleaning it all the time.

When you tightened all the suspension arms did you jack the suspension in to its normal loaded position/ lower the car on to the ground first?

If you have tightened all the arms in their max travel position (unloaded suspension) all the bushes will be under full rotational load rather than +- no twisting load when at normal ride height.

This will not only make the bushes fail faster but can make the ride hard due to the loading on the bushes.

    EDIT

and possibly the ride height higher……

One you will buy for £100 will have limited use as it will not be nearly powerful enough. They will struggle to shift a wheel bolt.

Oh dear what’s up with the M6, mine’s in for a new fuel pump as I type.

Spun a shell, nipping it up and bending the crank in the process. If you have the V10, I’m (now) informed that you’re not to run it on the 10/40 they tell you to use but use thinner stuff. Also, the new crank and rods use the same part number but are visibly different parts, much more beefy! But obviously there isn’t an inherent problem with the engine and therefore no need for a recall…..bastards!

The bearing issue is well known. I replaced mine as a caution. I don’t think changing to thinner oil is a full answer as the Vanos pump that runs at 1000psi can have issues creating the pressure on thin oil.

Most important thing is not to push the engine until the oil is fully warm and thinned down.

We have two cars that combined have 1067 bhp. One is that RS6 posted up the other day (actually my other halfs car) and its hilarious. The other is my somewhat broken M6.

I loved my HL 5-Spot, and have been waiting for Turner to build up their carbon line-up.

But it’s the pressfit BB that’s the big no for me. The Praxis Works one I run in my Stumpjumper has pretty much fixed the creaking problems, but I’d much rather have a threaded BB.

Even Specialized has gone back to threaded on the new Enduro.

Some silicon fork/shock lube on the shaft and work it by hand. If the O ring below the dust deal gets dry on both of mine they tend to slow down/stick.

Was there running a Lightweight E-Type in the Masters International Trophy. As always a fantastic weekend of racing, cars and entertainment.

If you’ve got any pictures of a white with blue stripes (No. 10) E-Type, we were in garage 17 next to the James Hunt cars, would love to see them.

    Thanks.

I suggest you get the geo checked by the Audi dealer. If it’s OK then you should have warranty claim for faulty tyres. If it’s out then you have an argument over whether is was correct at point of sale or has gone out of spec due to usage/potholes/speed humps etc.

How many miles has the car done? this will greatly effect how reasonable it is for the geo to need re adjusting.

I just bought a holiday on a debit card (Jet2) to avoid fees but I have annual travel insurance which would cover me if it was cancelled.

Check your T&C’s a lot of policies exclude the business going bust because you should be covered by ATOL etc.
