    That youth is wasted on the young, dont start smoking ( dumb decision of mine to look cool , it failed),start riding a bike, drink in moderation, ( another dumb decision that would bite me in the arse) dont do debt ( see booze for that) enjoy the fact that you are fitter than a butchers dog , (I would kill for a fraction of fitness I had back then).

    Dont leave the best job you ever had ( again booze, killed promotion stone dead, got me booted off a field squadron job) ride more..

    Try looking for bonesetter on here. He’s based in Stourbridge which is a bit outside the catchment area you specified but worth a shot.

    Or just try http://WWW.facebook.com/php. Normal Facebook at my place is blocked but using php gets you to the geek php circum page and then just go to the main homepage from there..

    its in bits in his garage waiting for his friendly home mechcanic to slap it all together for him.. I felt weight of frame ( 6.5 lbs) but it didn’t feel too heavy , that is for a 20in long .

    top tip. for the headset cups, if doing self build you WILL need H bottom cup ( if using Hope mix and match ) not F as some people here, or even the shop that sold it him said..

    hope headset info

    People who are put off by the fact that the cable routing is to the rear of the post…

    Look at the above exploded view.. all you would need to do is unscrew the collar , pull the lever to unseat the pin and the ‘seatpost ‘ part of the seatpost will then come out. If Was could confirm if the locking pin hole is on both sides , then what is stopping you spinning the ‘seat post ‘ part around 180 degrees and then re assembling? Note does depend on locking pin hole being present on both sides.

    The gravity dropper gets round this by simply having the saddle craddle bar going thru the seatpost perpendicularly,so all you have to do is alter the saddle angle if you choose to have the cable fed in from the front or rear of the post.
    Where as the Forca has the saddle cradle bar offset.( appearing horizontal to the ground as in Was’s on the bike pic..)

    Must admit am also interested for a cheapy one for the inbred. have the GD on my Trek EX8 and is one of the best things ever..

    bruneep, if endo did a distance v alt then we could choose that, but it isn’t an option. So we can’t.

    Road challenge is added for the roady tossers among us, and to allow the road commute miles ( even if done on an MTB) to count as well.

    There are going to be some lucky sods who can commute offroad to work.

    As for the hidden workouts, yep annoying but its how some people set their profiles up.

    Lunge, also went for a trek 2.1 also on the C2W scheme. Got it at the end of August, and trek had reduced the price down from £1075 to £900 as end of year stock levels were a tad too high. I know my local LBS , speeds still have a few of the 2011 models in stock ( red / black / white frame) if that helps.

    IF I should die, think only this of me;
    That there’s some corner of a foreign field
    That is for ever England. There shall be
    In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
    A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
    Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
    A body of England’s breathing English air,
    Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

    And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
    A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
    Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
    Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
    And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
    In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

    Happy days! Might keep the road bike on commuting duties for a bit longer until the really crap weather kicks in.

    ok, rechecked the rim clearance, was 1.5mm each side from rim to pads. Cleaned + sandpapered the rims/ current pads, no real difference so will do the new pads next..
    so far in the thread we have Koolstop salmon, Shimano ulterga/Durace, Swisstop green and The Clarks triple compound as reccomended..

    cheers for your help peeps.

    Cheers for that superdale. What handle bar mount are you using in the jersey vids? I would prefer to rig my cam up on the camelback harness as like your malvern shots( guess that what you did, so you can see the arms / bar), and would need the proper chest harness to angle the camera up enough.
