Others and myself have all had problems with SSC pads coming off the backing. But been using the ones from http://www.discobrakes.com and no complaints.
Cheaper than SSC + in loads of different compound flavours too.

Was over there last night, nice and dry and riding very fast too. I reported earlier that the garlic was unrideable due to felling, that is now clear.

Loads of trails have been affected RD, but if you only ride the car parks, you won’t see too much damage. :D

Most obvious trails, start of chamber was mashed a bit, end section of both Garlic trail, and Pepsi max have suffered. Garlic esp mangled..Also the ‘north shore’ bridges going away from the start of the Chamber and leading over the the caravan run have been ripped up.

Tracks on Button Oak are ok though, and there’s plenty of forest out there still and the ground is nice and dry..
we’re over there tonight 7PM from the Duke should anyone else feel the need for some riding.

Thats a 13 pin euro style plug, with the ones that aren’t used have been removed. So either buy a tow bar with a 13 pin socket on, or a 7 pin tow bar, and a 7 pin to 13 pin adaptor ( for about £20)

    Here’s my look on it.

Bit 13.5 years in the RAF. Always had a career in the armed forces while going through school etc. Being cabbagey , was leaning towards the Army. However , joined the local air cadets and thatled me to joining the RAF.

Trained as telecomms tech for 18 months, then got to first posting ,TCW.( tac comms wings) doing comms in the field along side the army. Like S+J was all over the place for 5 years, including the gulf etc. In 2 years 89-91, I was @ Brize the home base for approx 2 months out of 24) , otherwise constant field exs or OOA ops. Very busy time, I loved it.

Did Stornoway, for 2 years, then Cyprus for 2 and final 3 @ High Wycombe.

Came out after my 12 yr point as was starting to tire of military bullshit etc. Would do it all again tomorrow if I could have my time again. However, think long and hard why YOU want to join up….

It’s **** windy!! Lived there for 20 months about 12 years ( effective RAF ‘penal’ posting up @ Stornoway, Isle of Lewis). Countryside is bleak, peat bogs etc.
Fine for cleaning the mind, but prob would reccomend Harris more.
    Hope this helps..

Got engaged to missus Mick, then went and told the FiL, ‘I’m marrying your daughter’. (Not a nice man by any stretch of the imagination.) His face when I told him was an absolute kodak moment. I think I’ve spoken to him for approx 20 mins since then and that was in 95. That’s double the time Sue has managed.

If you’re on good terms with them , then should be no probs. Could even be classed as a nice touch, that the future son in law has manners etc..

My god, does no one remember ‘the stench of damp wool’ one? Loved that.

Also as a side note, i have a tenuous claim to fame of inspiring a Mint Sauce cartoon. (in WMB) where the woman has a ‘deore’gasm. Thanks to a thread on here about my missus old mate’s spunky teddy.

have bonty race on my inbred and race lites on my full susser. Both very nice wheel sets. Did have Mavic crossride discs on the hardtail until I upgraded to the bonty’s. For what it’s worth, I think the Bonty are a nicer wheel than the low endmavics, , my cross ride have a degree of lateral flex I find ‘disconcerting’ and the mavic freehub / bearings are a nightmare to source. Free hub is on it’s way out on the Mavic, looking @ 60 new for that , I brought the wheels new fr/rr for £120…
