Singletrack hipflask from the missus , god bless her…

And Rebecca got her very own, 'never been pre owned by big brother Jordan' brand spanking new MTB, a 13inch Spesh Myka.

Here she is, 'knarling it up' over the local park.

yep, good ride. Only spoilt by Houns mate Leigh saying , 'So you're Mick, I was expecting you to be in your 50's.'

Mine started off as the very first run EX8 when they were released in 2008, rear swing arm snapped around the disc mounts after about 5 months of use. New rear stays in 24 hours from my lbs, ( this was a a problem on the 1st run of large size frame running 185mm rotors). Then after about 18 months I managed to nack the drive side thread on the BB, expected to pay for a new front triangle, but Trek were superb, upgrading frame to 2009 EX9 with better shock.

Upgraded the fox forks to 15mm bolt through, got a gravity dropper seatpost, wheels are hope pro 2s, xt brakes, , currently the only part of the bike still from the original ex8 is the saddle, front mech and shifters!

    Hiya Bunners,
Can't coment on the top fuels but have got a ex9, which I'm more than happy with.

Size wise, I'm 6foot 2 , so run a 19.5 size frame, however, be careful when buying etc, as Trek in their numptiness give you the actual frame size ( 19.5 ) and the virtual size (18.5). When ordering the size size, you have to order actual frame size….

deeply disappointed in you. Doing a direct copy of Nige's bike, just where is the niche in that?

Lived in wordsley as a kid(Next to K'ford) and now back at Bromsgrove for the last 10 years ( after 13 years here there and everywhere). I like the area, 100 metres from my door it's nice countryside. Bromsgrove is Junction 4 of the M5 so no probs there for driving to work, or if the centre of Brum, about 50 mins.( riding there is 1hour 15mins.) Also good riding @ Lickeys( 10 mins by car), Clent( 20 Mins) and the wyre.(30 mins).

    Hope this helps…

    Right, my 2pennyworth…
Have ridden with the guys from 2 wheels a number of times at the wyre forest when the wed night fast boys would go out from the duke william.
also ridden with Paul from Race Co over Clent, when Votchy was demo'ing a orange 5. ( both shops wil leave you for dead!!)

Have used 2 wheels a number of times, for accessories like forks , new wheels, brakes , stems etc . ( oh and a bike for my son)

Been in Race co but never brought anything major other than grips and brake pads. Each time I've been in Race Co ( plently of tire kicking visits) Paul was fine to talk to.

Times at 2 wheels, Andy has sorted me out warranty claims on frames brought when I lived miles away at High wycombe and the original LBS from which I brought the bike had stopped dealing with Marin. ( with no issues etc) Race face BB,s swapped after failing with in 6 weeks etc, and given me discounts on stuff which at times have boarded on being fraud!!
This is with me not spending vast amounts of dsh with them either.

Two wheels can be a bit opinionated on kit etc, ie pushing the kit they actually sell ( fair do's, but it's an opinion not the law) but have always provided a top notch service.
As for RD saying, look in the shop doorway, and make your mind up, the shop is stocked way better that my main LBS!! Bit cramped maybe, but hey do you want space or stock??

Back to the OP's question, death penalty, Yes or no…

How about an 'opt in' death penalty? If you believe in the death penalty as a deterent, you sign up for it…

Idea being there are 2 differing tarifs for all crimes. The none death penalty tarrif has much longer jail time for all crimes. Where as the death penaly tarrif has much reduced jail time for minor offences , but more serious crimes are punishable by death.

Idea shamelessly nicked from Mark Thomas's tour eariler this year.

Ditto that, when my son was diagnosed a few years ago, one of our main concerns was how much weight he had lost in such a short space of time. approx 1 stone in 6 weeks… He weighed approx 4.5 stone

    Grantway,
I have the standard/ classic one. You have to weight the saddle when altering the height (both down and up). I think the turbo does away with the weighting when you want to re-extend it. Also the way the cable unit mounts into the seatpost itself is slightly different.

    Yep was right, see here….[/url]

With the standard, you can still bastardize a crud guard to fit on the post around the cable mount area, where as on the turbo, due to the shape of the cable feedy thing you would be a bit screwed.
( This is my experience on a 5 inch F/S, on a hardtail, you would be able to mount on the post directly underneath the cable feed. If I try to mount underneath the cable feed on my F/S, on full compression , the mudguard buzzes the tyre )

Few of the clent duffers are using gravity droppers, both standard and turbo models. No complants here..

Get a drop of fairy liquid on your finger, cover both sides of the prescription insert with said fairy liquidy finger, and then wipe off with a soft cloth. This will help with the fogging issues.

2wheels, I've got a ay up spot and flood. Use the spot on the helmet and flood on the bars when mtb'ing. For the commute I use the flood on the bars.

The flood on the bars is a bit pants, so possibley could consider doing a swap. But I wouldn't be too keen on using the flood on the helmet.

And that Troy the hamster died in his sleep…Bloody thing hadn't moved all day and was a tad cold. when Beccy (7year daughter )came home from school we were going to bury it. So get a nice coloured box for coffin duties, put Troy in the box and he moved… not a lot but still alive, just. Luckily Beccy didn't see this last gasp, so shooed her out the room to get some shoes on, out came my son's insulin and gave Troy 20 units worth.. He deffo was lifeless after that..

You could see your wheels from space, Nige, so I doubt a little bit of plastic could obscure your vision that much!! I use the Topeak defender mudguards, but am forever braeking the clips that sit in the sterrer tube or actually leaving the **** mudguard in the back of the car…
    You over Clent tonight??
