nothing. the thing that holds me back the most is my lack of confidence. some sort of course where they teach you how to let go of the fear of crashing would be most beneficial..

ketchup (combination of awful flavour, sticky sauce that gets everywhere, luminous hue, and the farting sound it makes when it comes out of the bottle)

I used to hate all mushrooms. and then I found out that thankfully they're not all like chinese mushrooms. which taste look and feel exactly like you'd expect a slug to.

I also dislike celery, avocado, jelly, liquorice and whipped cream but they're at least tolerable in ity-bity quantities

I don't understand.. My tax was up for renewal 28th Feb. My insurance ran out on 2nd March – changed company before I applied for new tax disc. Did it all online so that I wouldn't have to deal with the confusion of which insurance policy to hand over. Worked fine for me…. But did I do something wrong then?

Maybe it's because most bikers I know are downhillers, but I find that women don't tend to be as 'focused' on a hobby such as mountainbiking like guys tend to be. Stereotypically you often find guys who are 'really into' their cars, or their motorbike etc. but I struggle to think of girls I know having 'obsessions' to the same degree.

I personally think my bike looks pretty and it's awesome but my interest doesn't stretch beyond that. I might know how to repair a puncture but in reality I've never had to so I might not even be able to do that!

Also, my own experience suggests that there are some girls out there who are willing to have their minds opened when it comes to 'outdoorsey' activities – I hated camping (still do tbh), no exercise, hated idea of all sports etc. but a guy managed to persuade me to spend hundreds of pounds on a bike and have some fun 😀

If I was still with the guy I think I'd be biking a lot more often than I do but as it is I still enjoy the feeling of being on my bike. I want to improve my skills, fitness and it's opened me up to trying out other activities like climbing – quite fancy the idea of snowboarding and a bit of hiking..

I wouldn't say I was that different to other girls, but I like riding my bike – I'm not necessarily 'into' bikes, which I do think is a very different (and more rare) mindset.

My bike (14" orange msisle) was originally intended as 'a bike built without compromise for the seriously hardcore dirt jumper, street rider or 4X racer.'

    That's why I use it for xc… 😕

I'm a delicate girl… whenever a mean motorist is inconsiderate towards me and my car I break down in tears 🙄
(seriously though, it's a proper learning curve when it comes to taking road 'incidents' as nothing personal)

people who pull out in front of you on a country road, when there's hardly any other traffic, but causing you to break, – and then they drive really really slowly! – WHY – if you're so impatient that you couldn't wait for me to drive past before pulling out, how can you afford the time to go 20mph below the speed limit???

(yeah.. soz, realise my post wasn't entirely relevant to the rest of the thread..)

I thought both the music and the video were really boring.. not enough explosions (maybe there were but I couldn't be bothered to watch to the end) or anything actually interesting happening 👿

Initially didn't like 4001 but it's grown on me. I thought you already had a purple dialled alpine, but purple is good. 3016 is a bit too brown for me – a shade more red and it would be very nice. I think if I got any of the colours you've picked out I'd go for a yellow-ish text (esp. with 4012) – but I like bright colours 🙂

..Seems that majority of people here are agreeing that leaving your child all day, every day in a nursery is 'bad' and that you need to be able to strike a balance.. hardly surprising

I personally wouldn't want to be stuck at home all day with children. I could perhaps do it for a year or two but I have other interests – I want to put skills I have learnt to good use in the world of work – I don't want my life to be just about looking after babies!

I say good luck to anybody who chooses to have children – it's very (valuable) hard work and puts me off ever having any myself 🙂

eh, I don't understand handbags – you either have to carry them around at your side (may as well have a carrier bag) or try put them over your shoulder and have the strap sliding down all the time..

    shoulder/messenger bags = awesome
    handbags = pointless

hmm. I spend about £95 a month on groceries – that includes things like toilet roll. I don't really budget and I don't eat that poorly. I do spend extra on going out to eat once or twice a week. I'm not sure why £200 a month for two people would be that difficult? (not including child. agree that £200 for three people wouldn't work)

not sure place of birth really counts for much.. friend at school was fully HK chinese, spoke english and cantonese, but was born in Bangladesh.. then lived in Hong Kong for most of his life.

I myself was born in England. I do not look or sound English and I have never considered myself English (neither of my parents are English). I say I am British, partly because nowhere in particular feels like home – so obviously I must claim the entire British Isles as my land to roam 🙂

I've had zero colds this winter; can't remember the last time I had one 🙂

My diet is so-so, exercise two or three times a week, alcohol maybe two, three times a month.
At the first sign of a prickly throat I get out Vicks' First Defence. Use it for a day or two and the worst I get is a couple of sneezes.

It also helps that I'm half-chinese and believe that my immune system is vastly superior to all of yours. 8)
Of course it's BS but I do think having a 'I-don't-get-ill' attitude works surprisingly well..

I don't go to a gym but I do have an exercise bike. I like it because I can do a 40 min session in the evenings when I'm free – hop straight into the shower without wasting too much time. I only have a few hours and it takes one of those hours just to wash and dry my hair!

If I want to go outside on my bike I want it to be at least an hour (and I'd also rather it not be in the dark)- or else it doesn't feel worth the effort somehow.

I also think I push myself harder on the exercise bike than I would if I was out on the mtb for only 30 mins. Seeing a computer detailing time left and resistance etc. keeps my motivation up.

I would like to say good luck. Sounds like you want to make sure you've done all you can to make it work. That way if you do have to walk away at least you can have a clear conscience that you tried your best and there isn't so much room for regret. Hope it goes well.

I guess that's probably an age thing – she can't understand how I can have a 100% platonic friendship with a woman, and she feels threatened.

that's not an age thing. and if it is, I would expect 24 to be 'old enough' to get the concept..

apologies – I forgot the 🙄 at the end of my post. In reality I am hideous and you wouldn't touch me with a barge pole.

I'm sympathetic to women who display irrational/erratic behaviour and wouldn't immediately jump to condemn her for getting overly upset. However, it sounds like she doesn't trust you (and maybe you don't trust her 100% either..). That, along with her lying about you assaulting her, makes it seem like it would be very difficult to repair the relationship.

CK – I wouldn't claim to be low-maintenance at all.. Whilst he might not have been romantic, he was always there for me in a crisis (of which there were many)
The fact that he bought me a burger and chips for my 21st birthday doesn't matter. and besides, the quickest way to my heart is food 🙂

Romance is getting off the bus or train and seeing your partner there waiting for you- when you didn't expect them to be. (that's never actually happened to me but it's something I can dream about..)

The 'sweetest' things my ex did for me were buying me a chocolate pudding. or cookies at a reduced price. he also once gave me a flower that someone had left stuck on his windscreen.. I was touched by all those gestures. I don't consider them romantic, but they told me he was thinking about me when he wasn't with me

apart from the fact that I don't resemble anyone famous, this is me (according to a female friend..)

yeah.. flowers won't cut it. being serious here, I might be worried about sending them – could almost be seen as a guilt-ridden gesture. I might be over-thinking it, but hey, I'm a girl..

this is me assuming you haven't sorted it all out yet. if your girlfriend has already forgiven you, then fair enough, flowers are appropriate.

flowers are better than nothing. but going and saying sorry in person is much better than flowers. appreciate you might not be able to do that straight away.. but taking a weekend out and changing the plans you had to go and grovel/show you appreciation of your wonderful girlfriend would earn big points in my book.

we don't ask for much 8)

my bike weighs about the same as that Kraken, if not more. I don't notice any hindrance apart from when having to lift it up stairs. If, like me, she hasn't had other bikes for a long time, she won't have anything to compare it to 🙂

'resolve' sounds horrible… I've just polished off some baked beans (with dash of hot chilli), marmite on toast, green tea and a slice of homemade chocolate cheesecake. think that should do me in the salt and sugar dept. 🙂

I do realise my alcohol tolerance is woeful: I'm half-chinese- I suffer from 'asian flush' and get rosy cheeks almost immediately after one drink. I'm guessing as a woman of partially asian descent, I'm not going to have very much alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH).

Last night I drank vodka and had two sourz shots. I'm wondering if my body just doesn't like shots..

Having done a bit more research, this link on how alcohol affects the brain seemed quite interesting.

I like the low salt/sugar theory. Unfortunately last night I was too full/too ill to eat any more cake or crisps 🙁

When I took some desserts to my Muslim friend's home – I made sure there wasn't any pork, gelatine or alcohol in the food. They're not particularly strict in their practice but I reckon you'd be safe if you stuck with vegetarian/no alcohol.

I do vaguely remember my Muslim friends at school arguing over whether they were allowed to eat food with E-numbers in them.. but they were at somewhat opposite ends of the spectrum when it came to their faith..

I do life drawing. saggy/fat/weirdly proportioned people are far more interesting to draw than slim beautiful women. if the classes are like mine though, they'll be full of girls in their early 20's who are thankful your friend doesn't have a penis.
and yes, of course in my class, we all take our clothes off and join in.. 🙄
