As a white 50 something mountain biker the last thing I want is a magazine full of white 50 something mountain bikers, surely it’s best for mountain biking to be open to all. I want my daughter to feel that she would be welcomed into mountain biking community! :)
That’s concerning I was considering one of these; hope you get this resolved! What I really like about fairlight is the quality of the technical communication and focus on engineering detail.
Looks like a perfect evolution to me, same angles, lighter, lower bb (a bit). A non-Matt colour option would be nice, the strong gloss colours of the current gen would be my personal choice. The prototype picture looks fantastic, my size too :)
This just depends on how long your legs are. if you are short legged short is good if you are tall (me 193cm) a short seat tube can be an issue if the stack is also proportionately v low.
So I looked into this as Tesla M3 is one of the few options for a long range EV at the moment that’s not 80K, until the ID4, MY, enyaq etc come along with a better charging network. I came to the conclusion that 4 bikes on the back was not practical with a 55kg limit listed in the manual. 3 max realistic.
This happened in our house; cold well
Insulated loft causes water to condense in the vent pipe as the water vapour from the shower rises through it. If it happens when it doesn’t rain every chance this is the reason. Solution insulate the vent pipe or do what we did replace then pipe with an insulated one.
To be honest I don’t care about all the KOM stuff, I do care about my kids getting passed at pace and closely or dangerously by heavy adults on heavy bikes, I really worry about accidents up climbs or on the flat where previously the risk was less as those riders were slower.
The colours look great- love the new blue; a little pricey and I’ve only ridden Santa Cruz until very recently; actually because the stack height was very low on the XL’s and XXL’s (bought a Whyte) Good to see that’s corrected.
Trouble is that this sort of surface just erodes out in one winter and it’s worse than before. Quite often from a surface that might been uneven, but stable. More badly engineered repairs…
Seems to me its pretty simple for many of us. Most are here because they ride mountain bikes, if they like what they see it they subscribe to the magazine or the website for a few quid per year to they can read articles and not see as many ads on the forum or site. They enjoy supporting singletrackworld, going to events, supporting our pastime/sport. I’m perplexed how many people contribute to a forum but don’t seem to actually value any of the professionally created content and then expect to be rewarded for sharing their opinions. ho hum, maybe I’ll go for a night ride- its a lovely warm clear night here on the ridgeway…..
I very much doubt Lance had aero rims and a power meter in 1999…
Lance’s tour winning bike from 1999 weighed around 19lbs. My bottom of the range caad x isn’t much heavier than that.
Its not quite that simple, his 19lb bike probably had aero rims, power meter, and they’re limited in choices by sponsors. SRAM shifters might be light on weightweenie build, but that’s of no use for a pro if they have to use zipp wheels as part of that contract. Where the weightweenie uses lightweights.
So lots of pro bikes weigh quite a bit more than the 16lb limit.
Personally I think its worth letting the mass start go and then wait a few minutes before you set off then its less crowded up the first climb where people tend to get off and push.
