    Wow.

On a positive – if you have those chat records, and the wallet address showing similar amounts from his account appearing in wallets – a fraud team would find it very difficult to argue that your son has not been a victim of fraud and yes, they should have spotted it.

At 6” I was advised to get a medium, but it turned out the last frame in stock had paint damage. So I went for a large. Reach is fine – I just don’t have a lot of seatpost showing but no different to the Salsa Vaya it replaced. I would say the sizing charts are spot on. They are big frames.

We are planning gravel paths. I was planning membrane, compacted mot1 then gravel. Am I going overboard with the compacted mot1?

I had a loft which suffered bad condensation. Inside felt was dripping wet. Cleaning the soffit vents solved it. It’s all about airflow up there.

Dropped my daughter off at UEA last weekend. She has a timetable of online lectures and 2 hours small group tuition a week. Somethings gone wrong for you.

She has also talked about quitting but in the absence of a plan-b we have told her to give it a term.

We lost out on three “once in a lifetime” houses. Now in a new build which had been specced up by another buyer who failed to complete. Since then two identical houses have been built on the estate, and half a dozen on another estate.

Dream houses come up all the time.

First one with deposit and proof of funds wins.

Oh, and if it’s a new build with a failed sale they are desperate to shift it.

We have a mira vision. Took about 30 minutes to fit with the mixer/pump in the loft and the shower feed coming down through a 20mm hole in the ceiling.

Work out how much it will cost to fit a traditional pump and mixer valve setup before deciding digital showers are more expensive.

Silent operation, temp/flow controls on the remote and things like limiting it to 5 minute showers are great. Kids dont drain the tank with one shower anymore.

Last time I looked you couldn’t actually buy the OS maps unless you bought them with the OS unit.

AKG451s here. Very well made. Proper detachable cables. Sound great. Comfy. Hard storage case. £45. Whats not to like?

Put a 1TB seagate hybrid ssd in my 2008 imac a couple of weeks back. Lots of T8 and T6 screws to fiddle with but not that difficult an upgrade. Boots in no time and apps start quickly. Well worth it.

Sorry, been away from ‘tinternet fora couple of days.

Swindon RC do have a shorter option on a Sunday, both rides start out together and the shorter ride heads back earlier. As numbers drop in the winter, its usually a core number of people who show up for the full length ride and the shorter ride doesnt happen.

Your best bet for Swindon RC is to join the 9.30am Saturday morning ride – there is a “development” group and a “fast” group both riding out of Swindon and meeting up in a cafe in Cirencester before returning. Use this to calibrate the pace. If its too slow, there is a 50 miler on a Saturday morning which going out to Chedworth and back which is done a a brisker pace.

    Its all on the website.

Its a regular ride but be prepared – those are the brutal 70-80 mile rides done at a brisk 20mph average pace.

Our local co-op keep the bread back to back with a chiller unit. Warm air from the chiller creates and ideal mould growing environment for plastic wrapped bread. The breads mouldy on the shelf the same day its delivered.

Of course, I have told them, but I am just some lycra clad middle aged nutter ranting on about mouldy bread.

New swift fork will handle 29+ tyres. Appears to be more clearance at the back too with the direct mount mech.

paid less than £100 new for a avenir (raleigh?) one a few years back – did my two kids on school runs . Gave it away to a friend.

I would take note that the Islabike ones are supposed to be much better as they pivot above the wheel axle, and dont act as a lever against the seatpost. Even small kids can throw you off balance with the seatpost ones.

B&O is some of the worst designed kit I have ever had the misfortune to use. Hiding all the controls behind a glass panel until you put your hand close, then lighting them up is very cool, but breaks every usability guideline in the book.

Your biggest problem with Cricklade is getting over the 419 without ending up on it so you can explore the Kempsford area 🙂 The first route here shows you how to do it – head north through Cricklade towards the 419 but take a left just before you hit it. Travel parallel along the 419, then right over the bridge.

DD-WRT is an open source router firmware that does QoS really well. I dont have to tell the kids to stop watching youtube any more. It just gets tired and stops working.

Regarding the knife thing. After two years of sleep depriving sciatica and a failed caudal epidural, my consultant told me to go away and live my life for another year before I should even consider surgery. This is from a guy who make a living cutting into spines.

    Keep moving. See a physio.

Hats off to him. Did the SDW last weekend as a bikepacking trip. Left Winchester station at 8.30am Saturday, arrived Eastbourne at 4.30pm Sunday just on time to see the shutters close on the cafe.

How people do it in one go, never mind the double, is beyond me.

Admiral were the only company I could find which would align two cars on one policy. Everyone else offered 12 month separate policies for each car. One for renewal in Feb, one in August.

Why not just try and see? Bloke in our club had exactly the same problem – lbs went right for the chainring bolts as they never get greased in the factory. Sounded just like yours. I should know I had to listen to it for 40 miles.

You put power through chainrings from both pedals. If all else has been ruled out…

Chainring bolts. Defo chainring bolts. Undo, grease, redo.

EDIT: unless you already greased them. Then its your seatpost.

    Get a road bike.
Go out with a friendly club once a week (2-4 hours of base fitness work).
Find a 10 mile loop and time trial it once a week (30 minutes of vomit inducing speed work).

Do this for a couple of months and be amazed.

Council will probably deal with it for a fee. I paid about £25 a few years back. They used poison. Lots of it. Several visits until they were sure the critters were gone.

This was after I tried traps, and in one instance, catching one under the loft insulation and thinking “now what?”

I have a synology 212j. You can plug a usb drive in to back up to so they do exist. Its not a cheap option but I have learned not to buy cheap when it comes to data backup.

We just had an email go around asking us to send in license and MOT details for personal cars used for business. Something to do with ‘elf n safety and the company being responsible for your vehicle. Looks like some 3rd party company is managing the whole thing. Guess they wouldn’t have to do this if they mandated pool car use.

I thought Santa Cruz did some genius work with the portfolio in 2013.

2011/12 bring out the tapered head tube and ISCG butcher/nickel at £1300 and drop the “old” heckler to £900.

2013 drop butcher/nickel as they were not selling, put tapered head tube and ISCG on the heckler and sell for £1200

I have the 2011 heckler and its fab.

I had a problem with some RS Revs leaking oil from the top cap when stored like this. I think this is a know problem with the fork vintage (circa 2006) and just needs a new seal.

Vaya is a road tourer which can go off-road. Fargo is a off-road tourer which can do road. I have a vaya and it takes 1.75 tyres.

Vaya sounds perfect for what you want.

M&S were ridiculously good when my roadrat was stolen. Wheelies went thought a custom build breakdown in which I told them about every component on the bike. They then took RRP on each component, added it up, and gave me that sum to play with.

I guess thats what happens when the people you pay to value the loss are the same people selling the replacement.
