Any posting of that picture is good though

One of those would be in my dream garage… along with a new Lemond… if only

he’s partnered with Time and his models will be out next year, so I’d expect to see his take on geometry on those

    I don’t need a new road bike but if I did and I could afford one… 8)

    JEEEEEZ he got old !

Only by the same amount as the rest of us :?

I remember being glued to the TV when Greg won the TDF in the time trial in 1989… so when I finally came to buy a road bike in 1997 I was very happy to buy a Lemond (which I still ride).

27.2 seatpost… would this be even more fun with a decent dropper?

I ran mine for a while with 1″ Gorilla tape but I changed to the Bontrager Rhythm strips after having some burping issues. With the Bonty strips in the tyres are tighter and hence much easier to inflate, and I haven’t had any burping issues since. I probably could have achieved the same with more wraps of Gorilla tape but having seen the Bonty strips I like the tyre grabbing groove near the outside… gives a little more confidence if nothing else.

Look good in a dress… not something I can achieve despite many years of trying.

Glenlivet 18 is a cracker and a tough act to follow. If you like the sherry finish Speyside style try Aberlour 16 or Glenfarclas 15 which are both fantastic, or spend a little more for an even older version of these two. Glenfarclas 21 is amazing and a bargain for you don’t see many 21’s for that price.

Looks much better than the “speedo” look as worn by triathlonists… as above I think its a great idea and I wish them well.

I like Airplay as its so simple to use if you have a Tablet or Smart Phone

B&W A5 are ace but other cheaper Airplay options exist.

I like the look of the Fugio and the CDF931. I could be tempted as I like steel… I still like the ride of my old Lemond 853.

I have been told that I am doing it this winter.

Unless I go temporary that will not be happening for me

Perhaps going temporary and building it on wooden table would be a good idea so I can try it in a few places in the garden before choosing where is the best spot to build it!!!

A cunning plan is evolving 8)

I’m rocking a RaceFace thick/thin with nine speed with no problems on my hardtail… but I have a dinky wee saint rear mech out the back 8) : and that baby pulls serious chain tension compared to SLX and XT.

Big bike has XX1… which has not dropped a chain on me yet despite some huge riding

I’d take your £1500 quote in a heartbeat… I’ve been quoted over twice as much to remove this gas job and fit a stove.

    [/url]

Bloke did reckon it would take over a week and involve much faffage with skips due to the amount of fill that has been used to build up the fireplace to this, and the house is three story so much flue required.

I’ll not be getting it done this year :(

I’m going to ride this until I break it (again… but properly so it really isn’t worth repairing).

Steve Deas from icycles was running Hope rotors and Formula R0’s at the Trans-Savoie and I chatted with him about it.

The Hope rotors are a little thicker than the Formula ones so with new pads they are a bit rubby but not a huge problem and it goes away quickly as the pad wears. Biggest problem is the floating rotor rivet things which just touch the calliper as the wheel spins… you can either put up with the “ting” noise or take a file to the calliper to remove a sliver of alloy to get beter clearance. He had done this with his last set of R0’s but had forgotten to do it with the ones he was running.

Ooops… I missed out the word NOT in the above statement!

    It should have read…

“I’ll probably be kicking myself shortly for NOT doing the pre-ordering thing.”

    My two penn’orth:

    * Don’t cut the bars until you’ve ridden it for at least a month
    * Learn to brake with one finger. It gives you an extra digit on the bars
    * Put the dropper back on and make an effort to use it. Not just for steep stuff but more or less anything techy or non-pedally

    +1 Cheezpleez

Sounds like a nice bike… enjoy!

I have a Panasonic Lumix GF2 which I’ve had for a few years and really like (Linky).

With the Pancake lens on I can take it everywhere, and with the 14-42 its a bit more versatile for pics of the kids etc. No optical viewfinder but I now find myself confuddled when I use a normal SLR :|

Far more camera than I probably need but it takes good pictures.

In my experience the headsets are the closest you get to a fit and forget components. Some people have problems with them but all of mine have been great unlike all the other headsets I have owned.

Bottom brackets I have no experience of.

If you loved the Piglet surely the Piglet2 will be the perfect replacement.

    WideOpen Mag thing on Piglet2

I loved my Ragley Troof but after it cracked Ragley were unable to replace it with anything similar… and I’ve still not found a suitable replacement
