I find the title very scary…

In Scots a “Doocot” is a structure intended to house pigeons or doves; and therefore I am assuming that the “Boycot” in the title is a similar structure for the housing of boys!!!

I’m not very happy about this and plan to write to my MP.

Kind of hard to find a reason not to buy Sunline’s from CRC for £23… even if the colour choice available now is sub-optimal.

63.5 deg of headtube angle slack enough for you?

Throw in a lovely low bottom bracket for huge cornering fun, add a twist of 71 degree seat angle for climbing… wrap it all up in a frame at just over 4lbs. Serve with some mud.

    It’s a bit of weapon!

    Ooops 😳

It’s taken me three weeks to get round to trying this but unfortunately it doesn’t fit together.

I’ve got an 03 silent guide and an 05 frame. I’ve got a bb to 03 adapter but when I fit that it moves the chain device too far towards the chainring and it all binds up. I could probably install a spacer behind the bottom bracket to move it out a bit but I’m not willing to risk that as I have a tendency to break stuff (especially around the threads of bottom brackets… so I’m not going to take any chances with bodging in that area).

Next up… I either buy another silent guide as the back plates are not available separately (my other frame is 03 so I want to keep this one)… or I look to do something else to make it work. Make my own thinner ISCG 03 to 05 adapter, or make an ISCG05 backplate to fit?

Time to break out the carbon or aluminium plate and a dremel?

Seeing as took me three weeks to try putting that lot together I would expect a completion date somewhere in 2015 for anything involving power tools 🙄

The Lusso stuff is all hand made here in the UK (if that matters to you).

What matters to me is the quality and fit, both of which are spot on for me (shorts, knickers, tights and knee warmers… not that keen on the look of the jerseys and jackets but I’ve not seen them in the flesh).

I have the Roubaix and think they are great, very warm. Lusso stuff is excellent quality.

15 months of Reverb use for free… I’d sign up for that.

    Buy another Reverb FTW.

I like my GF2 but the screen in sunlight issue is a problem. I’m only just getting to grips with the functionality on it and as a pure-punter-picture-taker there is a lot of functions and stuff to learn.

I like it with the little pancake lens because it means I am willing to take it with me… actually bothering to stop and get it out and faff about and take pictures is more of an issue.

I went for the GF2 partly for the viewfinder option… but not felt a need yet.

The only non rigid fork I would consider would be a Rockshox Sid/Reba/Rev XX with the hydraulic lockout… but that would clutter up the handlebars and detract from the simplicity of riding a singlespeed… or would it 😈

I never knowingly bottom out but I seem to get full travel almost every ride. Which is really cool when I think about it.

I dont think Gentullio (Tullio) Campagnolo was considering the requirements of long travel suspension forks when he patented the quick release skewer in 1930 (the quick-release skewer that became the standard for the industry, a design as still used today).

(assuming your a medium like me and it would fit) 🙄

Few niggles.. High ish BB, reliability of the DT shock, Pace warranty?

You’ve done all the hard work for us… I would look elswhere for these three reasons.

Yep, worth training yourself to be a one finger brake-er-er. For twenty years I used two, and last year I re-learned. One is all you need.

One finger braking only with my set up… which is the way I like it.

It took me a while to figure out exactly how this would go together but it does, and it’s briliant. I’ve had it the same with an XT shifter instead of the HammerSchmit X9 you see here.

I have left grip, upside down reverb, shifter, brake lever. Takes a bit of effort to slide them all into position so they all work and don’t interfere is tricky, but worth it. Love them all.

I was going to do this – shorten a 180 Float RC2 to 160 and use it on my bike… the 180 would have ruined the handling as the BB is high enough and the seat and head angle are as I want them. The 180 Float is the same weight as a 160mm Marzocchi 55 RC3 Ti fork… so I bought one of them cheap. It’s a far smoother fork than my old 160 Float RC2. Hmmm, Ti coil instead of air 😉

Danny was 3rd in the first Macavalanche… he is obviously a damn handy bike rider 8)

I love watching Danny and Akrigg ride, trialsy stuff or normal MTB, you can just tell they are having fun.

I don’t have to ask TLR as I know he doesn’t do this type of riding 😉 …

but would you on a AC 29er???

Or is this stuff still the natural home of the AM?

I love bibs, there is no going back especialy for long rides, and I’ve recently discovered how good Lusso are – check out Ribble for a good price.

FIFY… Trail centre All mountain double setup for a fit/trained rider

Ditch the bash – probably easiest to flog the crank you have and buy a dedicated 2x cranks with 42/28 or 39/26 (SRAM)… or 40/28 38/26 XTR

First daylight run yesterday and I think it does need a full chain guide; the chain dropped off the bottom of the ring a few times and was rattling about something rotten. Never a problem on the Mmmbop but this thing lends itself to whole new level of fun riding 😈
The Fox 36 forks up front are so much stiffer and more direct than the noodly Rev’s, and the damping so much better that I have more confidence in the gnar

It also climbs the techy stuff brilliantly so I’m well chuffed.

    I’m even warming to it’s looks 😳

God unclips me… it must be some kind of higher force anyway because I never have to think about doing it… it just happens.

I don’t know if it’s related but the brake was working fine when I took it off, but was unused for a few months before I bled it and sold it, so perhaps there was a problem brewing in storage? I bled it believing it was the “right thing” to do to check it before sale. Hohum… hopefully that’s all the trouble you’ll have. They are great feeling brakes.

Glad that worked out in the end.

There is a chain guide. A dinky wee top only thing made by Forge about 10 years ago, and still working a treat. I might bodge a back plate for the iscg as with all bb mounts it sometimes moves. So far I’ve only lost the chain off the bottom once but I might need a full guide if this proves gnar enough to lose it more often.

I can ride flats or spd’s, I prefer the ground clearance and efficiency of spd’s most of time.

congratulations on something out of the ordinary

Who would have though that a long travel hardtail designed for 160mm forks would be more niche than fat bikes?
