Model boat club – usually some quite interesting stuff around to look at if it’s busy.

Probably not even remotely age-appropriate, but my lad absolutely loves Earthed 3. Not too fussed about any of the others mind, peculiar chap.

My pig-headed determination to clean that evil tarmac climb was a definite contributing factor to me nearly having a mental breakdown trying to drag myself up the long last gravel incline to Adderstone. Also a stark realisation that I am woefully underprepared for DR later this month…

Very well organised event though I thought, may have a go at another.

Bit of a heads up for the e-bike owners – noticed in the small print of my renewal (aviva) that they class electric assist as ‘motorised’ and so not covered under either home or additional bike cover.

Nobeer, I’d very gratefully take the outer cable off your hands, as I’ve split both sections on my Pitch due to a few too many errant rocks 🙁

    Cheers

Currently using one recommended by CTC, after being knocked off and left with a badly broken collarbone.
Perfectly happy with them so far, but it’s a fairly long drawn out process.

I had one, the battery life & burn times were terrible (although it did seem to charge ok). I got a battery from Torchy on ebay (seller big_f_d_d) after recommendations on here, run times much better. Well worth the money to get the most out of what appears to be a decent head unit on the light.

Sous le Nez is nice, not sure if it’s really posh enough mind.

We use PetPlan for our two cats – not the cheapest, but the coverage is excellent and they have always paid very quickly when we have claimed. Premium increase following claims have also been reasonably low.

My other half’s Dad makes replacement chassis for them – apparently held in very high regard amongst 2CV owners as he ships them all over the place.
Some of his customers have some lovely looking examples and I wistfully remember pootling around Galway in one with the roof open on a particularly nice summers day…

+1 for GXP being even worse. Shockingly poor lifespan on the one that came with my Pitch.

We’re 13 weeks in now, and I’d echo the above but with one addition – get a tumble dryer! Could not believe how many clothes/muslin squares the little man gets through.

Finally got out for the first time since arrival of mesh jr. in December – only a local pootle but enjoyed the fruits of last weekends bike-building labours. Running rigid with 1.9 trailrakers was somewhat of a revelation…

Have just sorted this issue on my Wildfire – I deleted the account then set it up again based on the steps here.

I can’t really see the problem myself – as geoffj says you pay around a net 60% of sticker price over a year, then £70 to cyclescheme and 3 years later you own the bike, effectively saving a couple of hundred quid on a £1k bike.
For me, I’ve used my current commuter in various guises for about the last 7 years, so keeping the next one for 4 isn’t a problem. I can only assume that most of the whiners on here are those who have (ab)used the scheme in the past to get a new bike every year, and thus those people are now losing out.

Gutted for you Cheeky – in Yeadon myself so will be keeping an even keener eye on the local scrotals!

Almost died of shock seeing an Alfa 8C driving through Rawdon yesterday, now that is a car I would happily blow a chunk of money on(even just to look at!)

50% off all OS maps in the one in Leeds today – did seem to have been cherry picked already though, and was a scrum to get in. The place was full of the kind of people who walked in because there was a huge 'closing down – 50% off' sign in the window, half of them looked like they didn't even know what Borders sell/sold…

Cheers for the pointers all. MartinGT, if your house is on for less than £200k, mail me the details 😉

Where: Calverley to Albion Street, Leeds via Bramley/Kirkstall Road (or L&L canal in the summer)
What: Trusty old Cannondale with rack & panniers
