It’s an interesting contrast with F1 (via Netflix) using Guenther Steiner’s constant barrage of f-bombs as a marketing tool to raise the profile of the sport though…

Not the enduro, but that’s 2x 26ers, plus two kids bikes, with one middle and one rear seat in.

    Based on my XL Berlingo:

Rear row leave small holes in the floor when removed, so effectively flat floor.

Middle seats independently fold flat, kind of concertina-ing into each footwell. So no problem to have any two up in the second row with one to added as fifth seat in rear.

Not encountered AdBlue issues in the three years we’ve had ours, FB groups I’m on suggest there are people who will map it out if that’s the path you want to take, no experience of the petrol in terms of viability with a fully laden car/van.

Can fit my enduro 29er in the back with rear seat out and one middle row seat flat, just wheeled straight in.

Agree on Tony Banks above if you’re anywhere close – had a full cat back stainless replacement for my Aygo for about £300.

Nasty mild steel pattern parts were about £200, and would have had me crawling under the car for half a day to fit.

Sadly Leeds City Council another who don’t accept the data, but then they’d probably only surface dress it anyway. Or, in one recent case, close the road for two days but not actually do any kind of repair at all…

Picking up someone else’s used sanitary items and other assorted rubbish from my front garden this morning was not enjoyable.

Walking my 7 year old back from school later on may also be interesting, no doubt will be equipped with all sorts of non-weatherproof end of term items.

Or Lawrence Stroll buys it, rebrands as Aston Martin, and puts Lance in – conveniently allowing him to get someone decent to partner Fernando at AM F1, thus recouping the 12m in improved results?

Think one of the best moments was Kolb crossing the line second and visibly gutted, right up to the moment he realised it was Hatton who had beaten him, then celebrated like he’d won!

Exciting race, thought Needles on commentary was good, even threw in a Warner-esque ‘down quicker than a homesick mole’

Yep, similar here after sorting renewal over the weekend. Best I could do after shopping around was ~20% increase on last year.

Quidco offering a flat £45 cashback on premiums via their comparison tool, which may soften the blow if it does come through.

Thanks for all the input folks, some interesting points to mull over.

I think as some have stated above, it’s going to be such a phase shift from the bike it’ll be replacing that getting some demos may be the way forward.

    @rockthreegozy
if your outgoing AM9 is an ML that could be an option worth considering so I’ll keep an eye out!

Solaris is currently running a 130mm Helm, hence thinking big(ger) may be better to avoid potential crossover. Plan is to demo where possible to aid the decision, just trying to narrow it down a bit first!

I think last time I looked Bird were out of ML AM9s, but if it seems to be the sweet spot I’m not averse to getting something second hand.

I’d echo the above in terms of following a personal recommendation – I’ve had crap physios in the past, and now see a good osteo. Does she use some physio techniques? No idea. Does she address the issues I seek treatment for? Yes.

Hidden hoses and wires are the name of the game when it comes to the modern bicycle and the expectations of the rider.

    Said no home mechanic, ever.

I decamped from Virgin to Zen about a year ago. Theoretically my broadband speed is lower, but it has been far more consistent and reliable and still supports what I need (WFH, streaming, kids etc). Don’t miss the TV or calls package, and not having to deal with Virgin any more is frankly a constant source of joy.

I’ve got a pair of the Altura Night Vision ones mentioned above with outer shell and removable liner, they served me well through a couple of years of regular commuting.

Given that I’m now predominantly WFH, I don’t need them any more so if a medium is any use to you then might be a cheap way to try before committing to a new pair.

They’re also even less subtle than this not-very-stealth ad 😉

Apparently first contact with the wall was at 130mph, then he just kept his foot in. Some of the team radio for it was on twitter, most of the other drivers just seemed impressed with the initiative/balls!

Sadly in the end it wasn’t a decision we had to make, as he succumbed to injuries during the night.

Starting to hit hard now, miss the daft bugger already.

Thanks for your input folks – bit of an anxious night ahead and if he comes through then a morning assessment of injuries. Fingers crossed.

Could try Pensions Tracing Service? Even if they went bust and the scheme ended up in the PPF (Pension Protection Fund) someone will still be administering it.

Supersport race has been pick of the bunch so far this week – close at the top and MD back to his outrageously fast best. He looked to be leaving no margin at all in places, it was bonkers. Nice to see Davey Todd get a result as well in the stockers, he was on it at the NW200 from what I saw, generally seems to be on the up within road racing. Hicky just seems to be cruising around on the big bikes in an almost untouchable fashion.

I empathise deeply. See also: car doors, tailgate – how anyone who is the daughter of a mechanic can elicit so little mechanical sympathy is beyond me…

On Wednesday the Texaco over the road from the office was trying to sell diesel at 1.95/l, making the BP 200m down the road look positively reasonable at 1.73.

Bulb insisting on the monthly DD/month’s credit is not strictly true. I got fed up with their comedy usage estimations and over inflated DD demands months ago (before they were bailed out), and through a fairly lengthy correspondence they agreed that I could just pay ad-hoc.

Obviously this doesn’t suit everyone, but I’m far happier just paying for what I use in full each month, rather than being in debt to them or having them sat on a pile of my money.

Baja 1000, in a trophy truck. I’d probably die. Or Bathurst in a V8 Supercar.

At a slightly more attainable level, the 2CV 24hr.

Yep, cancellation here too. Interestingly, they’ve listed all options as subject to misprice and cancellation, so I’ll be interested to see why they’ve decided to fulfil some orders and not others.

Bulb been in touch this evening requesting I increase my dd by 50%, even though my account is in credit by £220. Have emailed a (probably futile) counter-proposal, as I have no desire to lend them more money at the moment…

If Max is a handful of points ahead going into the final race of the season, this feels like it might go a bit Senna/Prost…

    Mega from McLaren today though.

I find my Vivo to be a bit shonky with pool laps – it frequently gives an extra length if I do something like adjust my goggles between lengths. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a session where it’s correctly counted them to be honest.

I think it’s just not the best tool for the job if you’re serious with swim training, however I’m just a fat middle aged man trying not to drown for a couple of sessions a week so I’m not overly bothered…

I’ve been using a Thule 591 for mine when I’ve had it on the roof, bit of adjustment in terms of where the wheel trays sit in relation to the frame arm and it now sits nice and secure. Wheel trays themselves are a bit tight on 2.5 tyres, so I’d probably look at a 598 if I was buying new, as that looks to be a bit more accommodating.

I had a similar issue trying to figure out what would fit my slx 4 pots, ended up using this shimano fitment chart for cross reference against the Superstar list(s):
