Quinine is supposed to help. Certainly helped a friend of mine who started getting cramps a couple of years ago

Drink it before or during the event and is it ok to add Gin to it? 😉

winterising means putting the HT away and getting the single speed out – including the Panaracer Trailrakers 🙂 Yes differant tyres for differant seasons / terrains !

wow – didn’t I start something? As previously posted I run 2 Carrera frames that I have built up myself – I think the frames are great but the components on the original bikes sold buy halfords are not brill just ok, but what do you expect for that price!!

Have had no real experience with the staff in Halfords as I would rather go to my LBS!

So to recap from the whole thread, the frames made in Taiwan by a huge company who make other frames for other companies (not a bad thing) and are generally viewed as great value for money apart! The only negative comments come from the people who like products with a nice shiny branded name on it!! 🙂 Can anyonbe substantiate the claims that they “are rubbish” or is it just an unfounded opinion??

    🙂

Carrera Subway 2 from ebay for £10 set of new Carrera rigid forks from Halfords for £30 – yes you read that right, you just have to go and ask them, they don’t advertise just ask! Wheel set from ebay for £40 Ebay again for 24 speed gear set up and mechanical disc brakes – other bits from round the shed and Superstar components – Total about £120! Great little run around that I can happily spin along at 18 odd mph for hours (on the flat!!) You could do the same thing and make it a single speed job – would work out cheaper too – alldepends on your commute! I built another Carrera (Viking this time) into my single speed winter XC hack! Rumour has it that the Carrera frames are built by Kona – is this true!?! – and are as great frames and cheap as chips 🙂
