    car bug/tar remover

    WD40

Both should do the trick if you let them sit for a while

Will be fine on the outer, unless you can run the chainring inside the spider?

+1 on a torque wrench with bike specific scale.

+1 on a chain splitter. Only proper way to clean a chain is to remove it IMHO

    @sparrowcar

Is there a point in there, or just an uninformed opinion on my riding skill?

I guess I do a lot of miles on mine, as wear a normal road tyre out in a matter of months. I do however run slightly less pressure otherwise they can slip a bit if you want to stomp the pedals/accelerate hard for intervals. Just sitting and spinning, no. Also depends if its a steel or PU roller….

The Kurt kinetics fluid/mag trainers are good/cheap/quiet.

Depends if you feel your fork is too linear. How much sag do you run and do you use all the travel/bottom out?

    How heavy are you?

Its a 5 minute job so you could always try it and tip the oil out if you dont like it.

I dont really see the issue? I guess I am lucky as I go to the main warehouse store (Gatwick) and they have everything. I hae nothing but good things to say about that branch!!

Definately use a trainer tyre, a normal road tyre will wear out fast, and anything with tread will be VERY noisy!!

less than 34t will see you off the back in any race.

narrow/wide chainring & clutch mech or you will need a chain device.

You can use a raceface narrow/wide chainring on your existing cranks and then just xx1/x01 cassette/mech/shifter. All in less than £500….

    Use the XX1 chain though.

Please make sure you, or whomever fits it applies a LOT of grease or anti-seize to the XD driver threads and inside the cassette collar. This was the advise direct from Fishers.

Mine, and it is not the only one, has failed completely trying to remove as the teeth on the cassette collar are fairly weak aluminium and will snap off if the collar is tight/seized.

Its an expensive cassette to replace otherwise, and mine went after about 100 miles….

Otherwise is excellent in the usual clunky SRAM way!!
