    Well said Yunki

I fished at national level for many years, and have seen more Cycling/ Angler confrontations to last me a life time,

Usually Starts with a pole blocking a path or pole being ridden over, and then a big kick off.

If both party,s concerned are paying attention then the confrontation shouldn’t happen.

If you look at the picture

The second angler is using the last section of his pole, so he,s fishing at least 11m out possibly 13m or more

As are the last 2 fishermen in the photo,

If you look at the distance from canal to the wall its no more than 5 metres, so this means the angler brakes his pole down twice to get to his top 3 kit ( the bit with float and bait on )

when you ride down a tow path you look forward so you can see where your going, and see any obstacles that may be in your way,

But when the Angler is looking forwards he is facing far bank as this is where the fish have been driven due to bank side noise and boat traffic,

so to stand a chance of winning he needs to fish the far bank hence the need for a long pole.

Every time an Angler catches a fish he needs to look left and right before he ships his pole in, if he fails to do this, and blocks the towpath then in my opinion he deserves everything he gets,

But as a responsible cyclist you should have noticed the fisherman long before he notices you, because he is in your sight of view, and you are not in his, and at some point may just shove that big piece of carbon behind him without looking, forcing you to take action.

Its all about tolerance, and everybody has a right to enjoy the outdoors.

Ive seen people on bikes have a go at a woman with a double buggy on a towpath

A disabled guy on one of those mobility scooters nearly pushed in for giggles by some idiots

And dog walkers that let their dog shit right next to you during a fishing match and just walk of.

    pissheads being sick

the list goes on and on

And 3 people with no helmets on, tut tut tut

To be fair geoffj, i think you need to grow a set of balls and get round there before it all goes horribly wrong,

i own 2 large dogs and no way is it acceptable that they should be allowed to roam free, if 1 or both of my dogs got out i would be extremely concerned.

Not just for the dogs safety, but the public in general, as there large and look aggressive( there not but thats how they look )

A dogs behaviour around a child can be very erratic some times, due to noises children make and the fact they tend to be lower than the dog,

This is something you should never ignore around your own dogs, let alone a neighbours.

Dog shit is minging at the best of times, and one of the responsibilities that comes with dog ownership,

I couldn’t begin to tell you how embarrassed i would be to find out my dog had used your garden as a toilet,

Knowing you had a child and you were a neighbour would just make it worse.

If it happened once id expect a little leeway, ( but i would fix it straight away and that would be it )

twice id expect you to be a little pissed of with me,

    third time last warning pal,

If it happens again i stab your **** dog and throw it back over the fence.

And thats it, as TJ and co have said there is no compromise, its a dog that you dont own,and dont want on your land ,and if it comes on again youll kill the ****.

Remember ive got dogs, but if i need telling 4 times to get my dogs out of your garden ,then im not really listning am i.

so stop being so nice about the situation and tell your neighbour he needs to understand the urgency otherwise the outcome will be sad for both party,s

couldn’t you have had the decency to of stopped and offered some help, maybe they borrowed the light weight gear, didnt have a clue how to use it,and in there “hour of need” some professional looking rad dude riding a bike with no gears? rode straight past mumbling under his breath about how they should have got out of his way,

calm down mr ” did you see that whip” youll have an accident.

Andy if you not bearing the weight well may i suggest you seek a little advice about your own feelings,
as until you address the real issue behind your own sadness, i believe your son will only suffer, how does your partner feel about your state of mind?

being 6 years old and autistic is very confusing for a child, and sometimes the simple things like cbeebies and TV bring a slight respite to a mind that is working overtime,it is very common for autistic children that are removed from there every day surroundings to want the safety and sanctuary of the things closest to them at home, your lucky your son can verbally tell you these are the thing he his missing, as some children just lash out in frustration because its all to confusing.

do not try to do every thing on your own it just doesn’t work, you will only run yourself into the ground and be no good to man nor beast, speak to other people in a similar situation, and look for a local group that will help with trying to ease the everyday pressure, there is help out there and there is plenty of people who have been in your position, Its not easy but it can be a bit more fun.

hope you don’t think im stating the obvious but having dealt with mine and my partners family member,s that suffered Asperger ADHD and dyslexia, then later on dementia, I no how difficult it can be.

Just got 1 direct from the apple store, after reading that Martins money tip E Mail.

My current mobile deal is up for renewal and costs £30mth with 900 mins and unlimited internet.

It would of cost me £99 for a Iphone4 but tied me in for 2 years, and a tariff like my old one was £45mth (god no,s why)

So i decided not to get an upgrade of my supplier, phoned them up to tell them and they reduced my plan to £15mth.

Now heres the catch i then got the local market trader to use his micro sim cutter on my old sim, and hay presto,900 mins a month, free unlimited internet, all for a reduced £15mth

In 3 to 5 mths ive got the option to sell it as its unlocked, and move over if i wish, yes its a lot of money on a phone, but does far more than my new forks.(According to the missus)

Imo i think you will be very lucky to set a coffee shop up for less than 15k.

if your next to the station you need to put a hatch in the front window and serve from there, so many people will personally do without if they think there pushed for time.( and people always run late near train stations.

dont ignore any of the cash croppers either.

Bacon, sausage, tea, coffee, toast, homemade cakes/sandwiches if you can make it yourself do-so, but make it well dont make it cheap.

I wouldn’t try to be a coffee shop i would aim for the poshest cafe selling the best coffee and cakes in town.

Try and attract as much of the takeaway market as possible, they dont create washing up and have a higher profit margin.

your first employe must be someone you can trust.

    cleaning products cost a fortune.

    People will steal from you.

Remember not all of the general public are rude idiots,(all though some days this may not seem true).

Theres some good money to be made if you get it right, and get it right quickly.

Ive got a mobile burger van that does tea, coffee, burgers, bacon,, hot dogs, chilli, and vegetable curry, cakes, flapjack, 5 days a week outside a local college/school,parked in a lay-by from 5.30 am to 2 pm.

    tea £1s/1.50l pg or tetly
    coffee£1s/150l nescaffe or kenco
builders brew (in your own mug) £1.50
    bacon roll £1.75
    sausage roll£1.60 2 sausage £1.90 3 sausage
    hot dog roll £1.50
    burger £1.50/180 cheese
    chilli beef £2.00
    veg curry £2.00
    cans £1

Every item is priced at twice what it cost and in some cases more.

Takings are around the £700 a day mark i pay a lady £75 a day to work it, she restocks from the cash and carry on the way home,so she’s finished every day for 3 i make the chilli/currys at work and freeze them there, then transfer them to the freezer in the van simple.

I paid £8000 for the van in feb 2010 and paid it all of by the end of november, the big money is in the vans that can cook chips/run fryers but the running costs are massive, but i intend to book on a few events this year and see how it goes.

I wont kid you though, its very hard work and its quite dirty as well, but at the end of the day its over £3000 a month profit.selling food anyone can make, but very few do it well.

good god. im glad some of you lot dont work for me.

chilli flakes? marmite? peas?wholegrain mustard. In a cottage pie. tut tut tut. you lot have been watching to much telly.

cottage pie, shepherds pie, beef and lamb, urban myth, both separated by nearly 100 years.

Originally it was a peasant dish, to use up left over roast meat,(Any meat). to stop it from burning when reheated the dish was lined with mashed potato, and then topped with a mashed potato crust.

MR Antoine-Augustin Parmentier is probably one of the people responsible for this dish, as he spent a lot of his time promoting potatoes as an edible food sauce to the poor,( this is where the assumption of the name cottage pie came from, as these people were mainly urban farmers/cottage owners.

Hachis Parmentier as it is known in our restaurant,(named after Antoine-Augustin Parmentier) does not contain any of the above whacky ingredients. i think those are personal touches which will only complicate a dish your not familiar with.

May i suggest you start with

good beef dripping.(high heat will not burn and gives a clean taste)

beef (again best you can afford.)

    onion (french)

    Carrot

    Celery

    Red wine.

    good beef stock

And maybe a little tomato puree ( optional )

    flour.

    Butter.

Fry mince in hot oil until brown.

tip meat into sieve and catch oil underneath in a clean pan.

put this oil back into the pan the meat came from minus the meat.

put pan back on heat, when hot, fry onion, carrot, celery until brown.

Put the mince back in its original pan with the veg you have just cooked bring back up to heat.

Now tip your red wine into this hot pan,and decant all the sediment off the bottom.

When the wine has almost vanished, add your warmed beef stock, and put on a gentle simmer for as long as you’ve got.

Mix the butter and the flour together in equal quantities.(cold do not melt the butter)

When the mince is cooked and your happy with the amount of liquid you have, adjust the seasoning.

Gradually add the butter and flour mix untill it starts to thicken and develop a nice shine.

Place this mix in the dish you intend to put in the oven, and chill.( the dish not you)

    Whilst mix is chilling

Peel, wash and cook some spuds in salted water. ( start spuds off in cold water)

When cooked, drain and return pan off spuds back to heat, give them a good shake, and evaporate the remaining water on a low heat.

Mash add s+p butter and a little full fat milk.

Whip your meat out and top with the mash.

Place in a hot oven 200 deg for 15mins.

After 15 mins turn oven down to 165 180 and cook for 30 mins.

At this point remove from oven and cheese.

Put back in oven until nice and golden ( or to save time place under a hot grill)

I charge £11 a portion for this dish served with seasonal veg, and today we sold 23 portions out of 90 diners.

Thats a lot of money on cottage pie.

sometimes the best things in life are simple, When done right.

its very simple, stand your bike upright, loosen your brake levers, then make sure that your brake reservoir are level, tighten them back up,and then undo the lids.place a zip tie or hairband over your levers and leave over night,if you can be bothered to watch, every so often you will see a little air bubble rise, after a few hours it can add up too quite a lot of air,and make a considerable difference, you may also have to add a bit more blake fluid depending on how much air came out.
