Can somebody please tell me what clamp size Front Derailleur I need.
mbMerchant-BankerFree MemberI bought 4 of these of ebay after Finbar recommended them.
absolutely fantastic, gave two to mates, and kept two for myself all are still running strong after 3 months,
battery lasts over 2hrs on full, takes around 4hrs to charge from flat + uk seller, took 2 days to arrive all for £15
Also got a free back light and no problems with hot battery chargers.
Merchant-BankerFree Memberplanet bike cascadia fenders in 29er should do the trick ran them on a fargo 2.25 tyres no proplems.
Merchant-BankerFree Membernon-cycle friendly “temporary” bridge that was erected about two years ago.
please tell me you just picked you bike up over the fence and carried on.
If you didnt it is now open as a bridge.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberSo you’ve been married for 18 years and 10 have been loveless, I think its about time you give your head a shake and move on pal, life is far to short.
To of spent a decade feeling down, overworked, unloved must have been horrific, but if you don’t change the situation you find yourself in no one else will do it for you.
Maybe your wife is just as unhappy as you are?
She sees no way out for herself and the children, as you’re the bread winner, you pay the bills, you cook, take care of providing a roof over there heads.
Would she really give all this security up for personal happiness, i think the answer is no as for ten years she,s stayed with you after she had an affair.
She wasn’t happy 10 yrs. ago. you’ve not been happy for 10 years since the affair.
It’s started to affect both of you in a mental way, and it will only start to rub of on your kids as they get older seeing parents in a loveless marriage is no fun for kids trust me.
Just accept the fact it wasn’t meant to be, you both tried as best you could given the circumstances and its time for a fresh start.
Look after her and the kids financially.
move onwards and upwards brother.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberIm 5.11 and 74 kg ride a large bandit. 70mm stem.
My Rear shock only has 150 psi, trail adjust leaver set to position 1 when in open mode.
The rebound is 6 clicks away from its slowest setting.
I found the rear of the bike to be fine, but the front end was a bit vague, and skittish went from a 50mm stem to a 70mm stem, swapped out the riser for a flat set of bars, and lowered my fork pressure,
Bike is far more predictable now, but like others have said its not the most stable of bikes
Merchant-BankerFree Member12″ Dawes thunder great little bike, good brakes with adjustable levers for small hands, low stand over, takes a water bottle,
Used for 12 months sold on eBay for £40.
Only thing I swapped was the peddles as they were a bit slippy
Merchant-BankerFree MemberI have a 1988 yamaha fs1e 50cc moped for sale, fully restored and ready for the summer, candy blue in colour.
it even has the original luggage rack / standard exhaust/micron exhaust.
£1500
looks very much like this one.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberIs there any reason why I couldn’t use the Light Bicycle 29 XC light rims?
yes max tyre pressure is 70psi.
and i think you want to run 100 psi
but the wider 700c 38mm clincher carbon rims for cyclocross bikes a road bikes come in upto 36hole and
will take 160 psi they are located in the road section and can be ordered without brake track and weight 30g more.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberYou can have a go on my large if you want, just outside stockport
Merchant-BankerFree MemberThis is Musket.
He was 1 of 3 dogs hung from a tree by a rope, and the only 1 to survive.
He Is the most timid dog i have ever owned or seen, and will take some time to trust people again.
but he,s a good dog and well worth the effort
Merchant-BankerFree MemberAll i did was pluck a load of random headlines of the internet,
put them together in a random post,
Post them in the chat forum, and wait for people to reply with their knickers in a twist.
But seems like no one got it.
so im going out on my bike.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberIt cant be that bad in Libya,
Nato,s managing to pump out 2 million barrels of oil a day.
Basf announced yesterday that they hope this figure will rise to around 2.7 m Barrels a day
So 2million barrels a day x $109 a barrel, took Nato just over 24hours to raise the money in Gaddafi,s account.
The Iraq port of Basra exports 8 million barrels of oil a day. ( under sadam it was never more than 2 million )
Iran exports 4 million barrels of oil a day.
Egypt export 7 million barrels a day from sources such as Libya, Algeria Sudan, saudi.
If Iran and Syria were to become unstable i wonder who gets the oil ?
To the people in power, the Libyan population are considered collateral damage.
Yes you can have democracy but in the 15 years it will take, they will have pumped out all the oil by then.
Dont get started on the oil pipe line that Americas just built in Afghanistan you’ll not sleep for weeks.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberAfter 1 night in Manchester.
I was Charged with.
( furious driving ) 5 points
( refusing to give a specimen ) 8 pts
IN 10 ( no insurance ) 6 pts
MS 30 x 2 ( street offence ) 4 pts
MS 50 ( racing on a public highway ) 4 pts
MS 90 ( refusing to identify another driver ) 6 points
SP 30 x 3 6 pts.
Obligatory 4 year ban with compulsory advanced re-test plus a £3000 fine.
Then in 98 on a 1000cc EXUP, I overtook and then Raced a car and a motor bike over the cat and fiddle ( Both were braking the speed limit at the time ) up and across long hill into whaley bridge, when i got to the roundabout the road was blocked.
Turned out to be 3 of duty police officers.
Multiple speeding charges
lots of TS 20,s
And another 3 yr ban + £800 fine.
Never drove or ridden a motorbike on the road since,
But on a good note i do have quite a few bikes.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberI think before we put a tyre round his neck, can we see this cracked frame, because at the moment its all just hearsay.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberI’m surprised you haven’t taken the cheeky opportunity to go tearing down it
Merchant-BankerFree MemberExcellent choice of dog,
Ive just re-trained one for a friend who was having a few problems, amazingly strong willed dogs.
A few things I noticed about the breed.
Totally fearless.
Chickens, Squirrels, Ducks and Rabbits, are all fair game.
All holes will be investigated.
Once Mr Fox is located, you may find your dog becomes totally deaf.
Get used to the dog coming back with that wired look in its eyes. And sometimes feathers in its mouth.
They always come back. You may have to wait a while but they do return.
Water.
I go fishing, and the dog came once,
I unlocked the gate let him of his lead, where he ran 30 feet down the bank jumped off a 15 foot dam wall into the water below, i then spent the next 50mins coaxing him down to the other end of the lake so i could reach down and grab his collar
Flooded rivers, same as above.
Will happily follow you on a bike ride with almost no training.
Merchant-BankerFree Memberyou could build a transition bandit for £3k
Or if you can wait, the new Foes Shaver will be along by the end of the year, and should come with 150mm fox floats.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberI dont think Druidhs come across as a prat at all.
The OP,S marriage is clearly going down the pan,
By his own admittance he drinks to much, admits he can be moody, works all the time, and hasnt had a family holiday for over 17yrs.
Put your self in his wife’s position.
when she does see her husband he,s drunk or moody/tetchy
When he’s not at home he’s working. or on call 24/7 so doesn’t relax.
Not the best foundations for a relationship is it.
She,s called round today and you’ve had a big kick off and insisted your daughter stays with you overnight.
Imo you should get of the internet, go and take your daughter out for something to eat before you faint, and make sure she has a lovely 24hrs with her dad.
Hand her back tomorrow with a smile on her face, go out on your bike, and forget about your wife.
On monday you’ve got to go to the doctors and start the first step in sorting your life out.
Get rid of the booze.
Eat some food.
And for gods sake book a HOLIDAY
Regardless of how you feel, now is not the time for anger.

Merchant-BankerFree MemberI’m 6’1″ and have the older (Fun Guy Green rigid only) version and absolutely love it.
Mines the XL (22″) it’s a fabulously comfy bike and lovely to ride (especially with 2.25″ Nobby nics).
I’m a technophobe so don’t even begin to understand how to post a pic on here but mine looks far better in the flesh than in photos and i actually quite like the 210mm headtube!
Merchant-BankerFree MemberIf your not at home when the bike thief turns up, then its all about how much time they have,
1 x Crowbar, 1 x makita cordless angle grinder, a medium pair of bolt cutters, and 2 metal hacksaws, all fit very nicely into a JD sports bag.
I know this, as thats what was left in my garden when I rumbled 2 scumbags a few weeks ago.
The Best thing i can recommend to protect you bikes ,after the usual chains and ground anchors is a wireless baby monitor,
You can get a 350m range set for £50 of ebay, set it up just behind the garage door, and if your at home when the scum strike, they don’t even get chance to smash your padlocks off, let alone nick your bike.
Amazing sensitivity and they take batteries as well.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberLowPro Nova mini AW, can be clipped to the straps of your rucksack, so your camera is always at the front.
Merchant-BankerFree Membersounds like the dog was scared on both accounts.
imo the First time he felt safe in the car, then suddenly something comes through the window, the dog now feels trapped and goes on the defence, ( in a dogs case to show aggression )
the second incident sounds quite similar, as their was strangers in the garden right next to him and by being tied up hes now trapped so again lunges at the builder in defence rather than attack.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberI had the same problem, my old garage was attacked twice, first time no success, second time cleaned out of all tools, bikes, and fishing gear.
A prefab garage was around £3000
To have one built from drawings, in brick was another £1000.
In the end i ordered a 10 x 8 ft shipping container in green, had a side window cut out, and a rear door installed, covered it in trellis, and grew clematis up the sides, total cost delivered £980 + £200 for the door and window.
Best bike shed ive ever owned.
And for the car I built a car port.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberWwaswas youve had more to say on this forum in the last 48hrs then ive said in 3 months.
No troll pay just on my brake.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberWhat are you the sneaky family.
I think you should be more worried as to why your daughter has no respect for anything you say,
If my son was told not to take his ds to school, i can 100% guarantee he wouldn’t take it.
Reason being im his dad, and he does what his dad says, no questions no debates.
I presume your daughter knows the difference between right and wrong, yet still chose to disobey you,and went around it in a way that was very sneaky,
Having seen what your daughter was up too, you then choose to be just as sneaky, by sending her on a fake dog mission, just so you could act in a way that was equal to your daughters sneaky ness.
Your now going to have a child at school that may worry all day due to the fact she,s now DS less,or be concocting a pack of lies for you.
All because you didnt have words with her, when you seen it under her arm.
Imo you missed a perfect opportunity to re-enforce why your daughter should not take her DS to school but instead chose to be a thief.
I carnt see how that will get you any respect of your daughter, but maybe thats why she took it in the first place.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberI dont know what dog you have, but i used to take my border collie/ lurcher out with me and they would cover 45 miles in a day no problem, my dad reckons that the collies on the farm, will cover 60 miles on a summers day,and once back home, and fed, would quite readily go back out for a walk.
Merchant-BankerFree MemberCloudy in Stockport, but by the time i get to kinder it should be like the Caribbean.
