At 2k you’ll end up with compromises across the board. With the same budget and a bit of patience you could build a sweet bike by picking up second hand and sale watching

On the op 2nd hand 1 1/8 fork prices fluctuate like crazy, earlier this year I couldn’t get hold of a set of lyriks or 36’s for less than £250 even 66’s were going for crazy money

Lately they seem to be going for £100 less

I use nike soft shell running trousers/jogging bottoms when the weathers shitty. Something like this https://store.nike.com/gb/en_gb/pd/therma-sphere-max-training-trousers/pid-11527091/pgid-12179420

You can still fit pads under, they don’t get too hot and are shower proof

People who do stuff like this make my list of top 10 things that annoy me i.e. lets go swimming/canoeing/climbing in a storm for a thrill, get in trouble then put others lives in danger trying to save your dumbass

There should be a way for them to claw back costs of rescues imo

Evans have had some cracking deals of late, I bought these the other week https://www.evanscycles.com/scott-grenade-pro-ii-elbow-guards-EV312501 Probably the comfiest/least unobtrusive pair of elbow pads I’ve ever worn (haven’t tested crashing with them, yet)

They still have all sizes in stock

If you have a 135×12 rear hub you can convert it to 135mm QR standard by sticking one of these in the hub.

If you’ve got a 135×12 hub just get one of these https://www.rosebikes.com/article/reverse-qr-axle-adapter/aid:713184

I’ve got one for my pitch and it massively stiffened the rear end

Another shout for an RC4, once you get the settings and correct spring weight its amazing

On the spring, all calculators pointed at 500lb (i’m 13 stone) and found the sweet spot to be 400lb

It has a piggyback so is instantly 30% cooler/faster!

15% imo, you need a coil piggyback to achieve max sexiness

VXI’s all the time if you can pick them up cheap, I just got another pair price matched from the Canyon site

Its a shame no other company will break the five ten monopoly as even at £70 they’re probably still over priced

As a spectacle DH racing is the absolute limit of biking skills, I can’t see kids getting excited by road racing.

Uniqlo ultra light down, probably best if you can try one on though as there sizing can be funky sometimes

What Kormoran said. My dog had 6 weeks of trying to save his eye but it had to come out due to infection (the original problem was he’d rubbed some fibre into it and it got deeply embedded). After the healing/getting over/used to it he had a new lease of life and is as bouncy as when he was a pup and still is at 11

I use them. Can’t say I’ve noticed it. Won’t be a problem for long though as I think superstar have stopped making them

I messaged Superstar yesterday to see when they’d get sintered S5 pads back in stock and they said next year as “they’re focusing on British made products”

So what pads for XT785 with Ice-Tech rotors :D
