Like you I have a 450D body, and got the Tamron 10-24mm lens to go with. Its a little bit faster then the Sigma, and paired up with a Canon 50mm lens does most of my bike photography needs.

If I’m taking my big camera out, it’s inside a Lowepro toploader Zoom bag… inside a HAWG. It’s not light, but you can fit everything in for a day of riding. You can get the camera out quickly because of how the camera bag opens and take off the shoulder strap so very little extra stuff. A dedicated bag is probably a neater solution, but this was cheaper as I already had the bags.
Just as a warning, carrying a big camera on your bike will do your back in.

I couldn’t get an ISCG one quickly when I wanted to get one (impending alpine travel) so I got one of the non-ISCG ones that is held on by the BB and it hasn’t killed me yet.
Someone will be along shortly to tell me that a great fireball of doom will be along for me soon :?

Thanks Greg :) There should be some more up there soon… Tried watching Concrete Circus last night, and stitching together some photos from that corner on Brazillian. Needless to say it didn’t work!

I’m working my way through some photos from last week, more up over the next few days.
Slightly worried now, as people on the internets will now know what my back looks like.

Got any photos of Nuthouse?

    Another vote for Bike Verbier.
I’ve gone out on my own, and stayed with them for a week the last two summers, and will be going for another week in not that long :D

Bike Verbier are great. Often when I’ve been staying with them there have been folk on their own, but the other guests have always been sound and very warm and inclusive to soloists. And even if they weren’t, Phil, Lucy, Jill and Sam are excellent hosts who’ll make you feel totally welcome and at home, both out on the trails and back at the ace chalet. Atmosphere around the dinner table is always fantastic in my experience. As for the biking etc, it’s incredible. Highly recommended on every count.

just go and book somewhere and stop worrying! you’ve already got something in common with the others on a bike holiday!

Have thought about it for the last few times I’ve gone over. Maybe next time? Do give us a write up if you end up making the trip.

I got my last suit from Slaters. They seemed to be reasonable price, and do alterations for you to get a better fit if the off the shelf suit doesn’t fit as well as it could.
As above, take shoes, shirt and some sartorial company

You might be ok at the end of Deerdale Lane, there are usually a few cars parked down there when I ride in. I’ve not seen broken glass about, but don’t let that be a recommendation.
Can’t remember if they charge for parking at Vicars Water but it’s easy to get onto the trails from there.

Might have a ride there today! try out my other new pair of socks.

Just a little shorter at 6ft4, and had a 62cm( ? – it was more than 60cm I remember that much) Langster a few years ago. Liked it, but didn’t like the inability to go off road.
Just remember for a road bike your looking more for top tube length.

I’ve seen this thread pop up over and over again, always having a look for some ideas :D but never quite getting round to putting anything up.
So, I thought I had better start somewhere:

I’m running similar to TwentyOneThirtyFive on one of my bikes, just with Stans sealant and it works very well at stopping the thorns punctures (I don’t bother taking them out either). The other bike doesn’t go near thorny trails…

I’ve tried strips inside the tyres, and they kinda worked, but not that well. My dad runs tyres with the strip built in (not sure what they are) and they work better than the strips you put in after. I’ve not tried slime tubes, so can’t help you there.

I commute into Nottingham from about 15 miles out.. busses are fun!
Last night, they left me about 7 miles away from home, as the main road was full of black ice and abandoned cars. I got someone to drive out and pick me up. The only way to get anywhere near home was by the back roads, as they still had some snow on!
7″ of snow here, measured and not against a wall

There was some magical way of screwing the top on, whilst winding out the adjustment so it had no air trapped. (think it involved wrapping stuff round the lever to catch some spillage) – if memory serves me right you screwed down the top whilst holding the adjuster with more brake fluid in than you have at the moment.
Then pushing the pistons out with the bleed nipple open and bleed tube attached and the adjuster fully wound out. Having said that I haven’t had C2s for about 6 years now, so could be talking a load of bull

yep, they have the edge grip. (opening up a can of worms) I prefer them to high rollers too.

Your more than welcome to have a try, but suspect I may be a little too far away for that

Ed is a great bloke, learnt allot and certainly had more 'flow' after the weekend. I'm now far more confident in what I (and my bikes) can do.

I think so. It looks just like the one nowthen linked to.
I gave BETD a call, explained what I wanted to do and said that others on here had mentioned that they had a fix for it. They took some of my money, and I had a shiny new axle in the post the day after!

You just need to remember to take around a 5mm allen key with you!

    Megatron

Phone up BETD, they'll sort you out.
I've got one of their axles rather than the maxle that came with my Orange Alpine. I'd read the threads on here but not actually broken the axle in my Pro2, I just didn't want it to break on this summer's trip to the alps.

Having said that, there were 4 other bikes in the same chalet with rear Maxles and Pro2s, and no one had any problems.
