I really like the Purgatory as a front also – the 2.2. version comes up pretty big.
i’d really love to try the butcher control single ply but as said above they don’t import it in the UK

I’d recommend going the SSD+HDD route

You can replace the internal DVD drive with an SSD using a caddy like this:
    internal caddy[/url]

You then put your DVD drive in an external USB enclosure like this:
    external superdrive caddy

I have my MBP setup so that OSX and desktop reside on the SSD
My documents, photos and other shite live on the HDD
(you active this using unix symbolic links..)

If I want to work with a file at lightning speed I just drop from photos folder onto the desktop/SSD and work from there. The machine also re-boots in under 10s which is handy. It’s also a really stable mod – if I didn’t tell you it had been done you wouldn’t notice until you try and slot a DVD in.

If you are feeling brave and want help to do this – ping me a message.

I’ve got a sIlver Easton Haven bar
It’s 710mm and you could easily lose 20-30mm each end to get the width you want

Have got the carbon Haven one on my posh bike and it feels much nicer
The silver Haven is a bit blingy looking (in a bad way imo)

You should try a standard Stumpy with the BRAIN shock
With a bit of tweaking you can get it hard tail stiff climbing fire roads etc and have it open up to full plush on the smallest of bumps on the way back down or on a technical climb – it’s very effective and the transition os not noticeable in operation

Spesh warranty and service is fantastic too

I really like the look of this but can’t justify £35-40 for one
Wonder how much the Specialized dangler is?

As far as bodges go – I reckon break chain, run it through an inch of hosepipe then join it again. dangle the hosepipe from chain stay using some zip tie bodge in such a way that slight tension is applied to the chain.

    It sounds high tech

great electronic albums hmmm mine are all quite mainstream. guess they get mainstream by being great

    – portishead – dummy
    – leftfield – leftism
    – fatboy slim – you’ve come a long way baby

anything by chemical brothers, underworld or daft punk

    oooh actually my fave is:
    LTJ Bukem – logical progression

    no problem

I have a stumpy too – great bikes

I thought the idea of “enduro” racing was that it was a leveller and you could do well a wide variety of bikes. I’d say what you have now would be ideal.

What are you looking to get out of your upgrades?

stuff i’ve done that I’m glad I did
    – skills course
    – wide carbon bars (comfy)
    – uppdy downy post (versatile)
    – new wheels (original Rovals kept breaking)
    – tubeless tyres and changing tyres often to suit conditions

depends how bad the crack is I guess as to whether to ride it or not – any pics?
maybe get a crash replacement then sell it and vote with your wallet next time you buy a bike?

we’ve got an s-max and it’s a great practical car

The middle 3 seats all slide backwards and forwards, recline and fold away individually
The two seats in the boot stay folded in ours most of the time

ao you could have middle 1 of 3 seats folded, a long item/bike in there and two people sitting either side

Another Guildford local here. Really good riding to be had Burpham Merrow side up towards st marthas, newlands and peaslake. Also lived near the station and you can get up towards puttenham which is ok.

I have a really nice 2 bed flat on farnham side of gford for rent 5 mins walk from town centre, station and with entrance straight onto river towpath if you are interested (:

Farnham looks like a really nice place to live also

I rode peaslake for the first time in ages today. Beautiful weather and proper loam.
spent a good hour or so yesterday with some foreplay which consisted of new pads, a tyre swap, some soaping then a good lube

Then I smashed her back tyre off today
Best 3 minutes of my year so far

I did think about not posting this as it sounds like you are looking forward to the trip and my experience wasn’t so good so might dampen your enthusiasm. Hopefully yoshimi will post about the good stuff to balance.

It seems like somewhere with a lot of poverty and problems- go with your eyes open

I’ve been here a few times:
    ball room dancing restauarant

    bit touristy but interesting

Have to say though that Bucharest was one of my least favourite places to travel and I didn’t get a good impression of the place.

Last time instead of heathrow (which was fine) I flew from Luton to Bucharest’s 2nd airport on a low cost airline rather than BA because the flights were at more convenient times

the airport was not much more than a shed

there was a family having a full on argument in the middle of the arrivals hall – the chap spat in the womans (wife?, mother?) face and raised his hand and back slapped her. no one around seemed to care. dog running around barking.

people pushing in front of each other to get to passport security and just generally treating each other with minimum civility and respect

the female colleague I was travelling with was very nervous and a bit taken aback
coming back the other way, the queue at passport control to enter UK is quite an eye opener also

good to experience different places though and made me realise just how lucky most of us in UK are

If you find out which driver board the light uses you might be able to download the manual and work out how to reset it

For example look for maxflex driver manual on the google
