why did you sign the 24 month contract?
there are plenty of SIM only and monthly rolling contracts available

long contracts are usually there so that they can subsidise the cost of the whoopy-dooo phone that hooks people into signing

according to my sources a ‘hug and a tug’ costs about 600 Czeck Koruna although other services are available.

    hope that helps

first aid guidance helps you decide when to call 999 (if there is a signal) and when to MTFU

i’m off to add add a yellow hi-viz health and safety (elfinsafety?) vest to my biking pack now 😀

I hope the person is OK

it’s worth getting the st johns app if you have a suitable phone

I don’t know any first aid but that app might be useful one day
asks you for symptoms and gives basic advice

I’m putting my arm out when I fall but seem to take the impact on shoulder.
That said – I have broken my hand before

sounds like STW is saying the best way is to ball up and not stretch arm/hands out to absorb/cushion impact

My 4 yr old is riding a bike now – i’m going to push him off so he can learn to fall while he still bounces 😀

    coving or no coving?
We decided to get some really low profile coving fitted and it looks quite smart – pleased we went for it now

When falling try to keep your elbows up. As it’s your elbows that usually cause rib damage.

that’s a good tip and simple enough for me to have a chance of remembering it

    Tuck and Roll

    tw@, t’woo 😀

I’m working on technique and always will.
But no matter how much I improve, i’m going to fall of at some point and that’s what i’m asking about now

tuck and roll makes sense but why do people wear knee pads? My knees never get near making an impact and I can’t see how they would in a tuck and roll either

paid £1100 for the same in a 4 bed house recently
That was about 10 separate ceilings

If you were thinking of getting spotlights or to move light fittings – get them done now (:

I have 140mm QRs and don’t think i’ve detected any flex – maybe I’m just a wussy rider

What does flex from the fork feel like?
I would have thought tyres and wheels deform and flex before forks?

Read “Homicide” by David Simon too. He camped out with the Baltimore police for a year, led to The Wire.

    ooh ducky, sounds super.
    😀

will add it to my reading list

our first decided on Mia for his grandma (her name is Elaine)

Mia followed on from Mamma in his 1 year old mind, after exposure to Abba and various Italians

Nothing would fix it as it was structural play that developed over time

    Specialized

My Enduro broke and the guys in Chessington fixed it for me (new fork sir – sorry about the inconvenience) and tuned the suspension while I waited

Then I bought a Stumpy and kept breaking spokes in rear wheel. My excellent LBS (Cycleworks) got on the phone to Spesh, who said sorry and gave me £350 store credit towards a new set of wheels of my choice

    honestly – they are brilliant

I was born in Tehran and have family living there.
Have tried to avoid this thread as to be honest the whole thing fills me with dread.

All I will say is that the vast majority of Iranian people look upon Ahmadinejad and his administration the same way a lot of people in the West look at Bush, Blair, Rumsfeld etc

    IDIOTS all of them

    🙁

As for the statements that Ahmadinejad makes about “wiping Israel from the face of the planet” I don’t really understand why he would say that when there are 25 synagogues in Iran and a reasonable population of practicing Jews

Perhaps it’s the Israeli government he has a beef with?

I’ve just tried the Panaracer CG soft conditions and am very happy with them.
The 2.1 size cuts through mud and provides pretty good grip on hardback also.

can catch them if they slip easier than the all round trail tyres (Spesh Eskars, Mountain Kings) I’ve tried

I can’t stand these militant cyclists who go around annoying motorists deliberately under the cover of the highway code. If I came across those two I think i’d bite.

I think i’d overtake safely, gradually slow down to reduce the cyclists speed to an annoying level then speed up every time they go to overtake.

    perfectly legal but annoying.

i’ve noticed a lot less movies are being made nowadays but that probably has more to do with the decrease in revenues due to piracy than a lack of ideas

Had a fantastic taster menu in Galvin at Windows (in that London place)
Each course had it’s own wine – Bollinger (’84?) was like liquid gold.

I was surprised it was so good as i’ve always thought expsnive wine/champagne was just something people ponce on about.

second best meal was probably beach BBQ in Bali south coast
It’s a Sunday tradition and I guess is their equivalent of a Sunday roast – loads of families there.
Shrimps the size of lobsters. We had to move our table as the tide was coming in and getting our feet wet.

one more tip which worked for me – wd40 before the brake cleaner shifts old adhesive from the rim

I tried using electricians tape last night and it didn’t work despite looking like it would.
So I went back to using duct tape as per the posts above.

Just fitted some 2.1 Panaracer normal sidewall tyres which were a bit of a faff.

useful extra tricks to get the to inflate and stay inflated:
    – soapy water on the bead
    – a luggage strap round circumference of the tyre (this pushes the bead out towards rim)
    – leave freshly inflated wheel @50PSI horizontal, flip and shake every 30 mins for a few hours

once that faff is over you are good for months of puncture free goodness

DIY-kitchens.com have best price to quality in my opinion
But we went with howdens. Only bought units from howdens and got appliances and worktops from elsewhere.

The beauty of howdens is that they are very good quality but have all items in stock. So you won’t spend time twiddling thumbs waiting weeks for the inevitable missing or damaged piece to turn up.

Magnet trade ar also good option if you know someone with an account. They’ll do you the units from the magnet retail side even though those units aren’t advertised in the trade brochure.

The quality of the fitter has as much to do with the end product as the units IMHO
